Here are two pics of the DB-B in progress. This is not the best resin kit I've ever built, as there are a few molding flaws here and there but the parts fit pretty nicely and solidly for such big parts (each wing is one solid piece that joins with the cockpit pod, wingspan looks around 15 inches). There are eleven parasite aircraft included to hang from this plane (the -b bomber, which is almost as big as the mothership here, and 5 each of the project -E and -F ramjet fighters). I'll probably hang a mix of the ramjet fighters under this and show the giant jet bomber separately. What a deal

I just hope its something japanese :-)

Everything I've seen points to the kiwi p40's being olive drab in some faded form or another

any difference from the older version other than the CFTs? I cant see any and the links arent opening for some reason -mike

just finished a 1/48 tamiya vw bug. I didnt have the heart to put it in desert yellow, so its a nice shiny black love bug. herpes the love bug, sounds a bit more realistic than herbie, doesnt it?

I built this about two years ago, its a very good quality and very easy conversion, near perfect to perfect fit all over. I say go nuts!!

Nice job so far! I would rather like to have that model Spad in my collection in 48th scale without playing with the matchbox kit

I think I made my orange mix a little too dark. Got to go back and touch this up a fair bit before decals, my hand wasnt as steady as usual when freehanding the black/orange separation (i wont mention the thumbprint on the other side! haha) http://cfaac.engsoc.org/a6m2-k7.jpg if the pic doesnt load

well, some had the clear blue over aluminum (aotake), some had a bamboo green, I counted no less than four shades of green in the cockpit of the Seiran when I was helping restore it with NASM back in the day... no consistency :D

Well I splurged and bought the 65th anniversary zero set and its... very involved, to say the least! There are new-tool kits of the 2-seat trainer (or kamikaze), prototype, and also the nightfighter and a6m7, a6m8. The -8 has been done before but with resin parts for the new engine cowl/spinner etc, but its all in plastic with this release. I dove right in to the trainer version and other than realizing that the paint i used for "nakajima cockpit color" was the wrong tamiya color (i used japanese green gray not xf71), its looking pretty good so far I think! You get a pilot and instructor

Ok so I'm a bit too lazy to upload pics to my server tonight, so instead, here's a link to models Ive finished in the last year (ignore the non-model pics I guess) :P http://carletoncanada.facebook.com/album.p...amp;id=90401108 Ok so some of these pics were taken before final details such as seatbelts or canopy frame painting were added, but the pics get the point across The link should work, I've had friends that are not facebook members view it no problem. Any of you that happen to belong to facebook, feel free to add me while you're at it! -Mike

Yellowy green eh? I have pics that I took of the Jill interior in storage with at NASM, I'll base the color off of that. Thanks!

I'm starting an assembly line of hasegawa zeros, and realized that i have no idea what nakajima cockpit color is for the early-model zeros. Would this be aotake, the tamiya bamboo green gray interior color, or something else completely? Thanks in advance Mike

I just got my shipment from luckymodel including the new hobby boss twinhole A10. All I can say by looking at the sprues is YUMMY!!! lots of weapons, nice molding, I think I'm gonna put this in the A-10 camo that resembles wermacht uniforms, plain ole gray is just too boring!

Thank you! I owe you for this one. Mike

I'm folding the wings on tamiya's prop-action corsair and realized that this kit doesnt give the folded-wing option in the directions. Could someone please scan me or link me (if its online somewhere) the wingfold step in the directions? I have to have this finished by friday for the Old Dominion Open in richmond. *huge* thank you in advance, Mike Swinburne mikeswinburne@gmail.com

There is one floating around, I believe made by one of the guys over at largescaleplanes.com. Search around over there, Im 99% certain that he made a 32nd conversion for the doyusha 1/32 a6m2 to give it some sea legs. -Mike
