  1. Colors are sand, armor sand and camouflage grey for the top. Light ghost gray for the bottom. All done in Testors Acryl paint. It's a fictitious paint scheme, but I wanted to mimic the paint of the aggressor squadrons from Nellis.
  2. Not sure, but I did a YF-22 in the same paint scheme, but instead of light ghost grey, I used Aggressor gray for the trim, and the aggressor gray with graphite mix for the camo spots. Overall, it replicates the real paint fairly closely.
  3. Never mind. I got it figured out.
  4. Here is one I put together. Now, how do I put this in my signature???
  5. oooh! Watching this one with interest. I had thought of doing Capt. Campbell's plane, but figured that the battle damage is way above my experience level at this point. Looking good!
  6. Good progress! Yours looks a lot cleaner than mine did at this stage in the game
  7. Graves, I think what you are getting is a spitting airbrush. This could be due to either a mixture that is too thick, a needle that is too fine or simply a clogged nozzle on the brush. The MM arcyl clear is milky white when in the bottle, so when it spits out of the airbrush, that I believe, is what you are seeing. Tips could be to do small sections and stop to clean the needle tip of your airbrush or possibly increase your airbrush pressure. If you have a Medium or large needle you may want to give that a try. I did 1 model with the Acryl Clear from MM and decided that I would use it ne
  8. Grrrr! Finished with the decals, weathering and dullcoat and uncovered the canopy for the first time to find some of the edges crazed and I also completely forgot my CSI trivia... using superglue inside the cockpit then closing the canopy... BAD IDEA. The fumes from the superglue will bond to any oil residue on the canopy (i.e. fingerprints) and craze. So, I needed to pry off the front canopy section to clean the underside, and while doing that, the front edge of the canopy broke. At least, it broke where it's painted so that is repairable, However, some of the crazing cannot be repaired
  9. Future has been applied along with some black watercolor weathering and yet one more coat of future. I've started applying the decals and hope to have all that buttoned up this evening. The plan is to then weather a bit more, add some top color scale, then a coat or 2 of dullcoat. Once that is done, it's off to the ordinance and drop tank to get those built and painted and to call this build complete. Once the decals and final weather is done, I'll post more pics. Adam
  10. I lightly sand the colored paint with fine or medium sanding sticks to give it that weathered look (I use Testor's Acrylics). Make sure you paint a primer colored basecoat in case the color gets thin.
  11. I used Squadron white putty, but while it was still pliable, I dipped my finger in 91% alcohol and smoothed it out so it snugged nicely into the seam. I then used a Q tip dipped in Alcohol to smooth it even further. Once done, a little 320 grit rolled up, followed by 600 grit. It did a pretty good job. Not perfect, but passable.
  12. A bit more progress.... Camo is on, but needs to be touched up. Next will be future, then decals. Ordinance comes last (haven't even started assembling them yet.)
  13. Started into paint. After the first coat, there were some areas that needed to be addressed, so more sanding, filling, sanding, etc. Here, my first complete base layer of paint. Remaining color should be applied sometime today.
