  1. I think the point is that, if the massive effort to find Steve Fosset could find 7(!) previous wrecks, then they could've been found when finding those wrecks was more pertinent.
  2. Well it might not exactly be what you're looking for but Dogfights on History Channel (Thursday evenings) is pretty cool
  3. Is that first NYPD helo an A119 Koala? Also, umm, is there really a Jackie Gleason Depot? Because that would be awesome
  4. Nahh, I think this is the best post in the thread: In fact it's going straight to my sig EDIT: Bleh, never mind, it's too long!
  5. The only thing I can say is... Dang :D BTW, what kind of camera do you use?
  6. I think it just keeps the original engine - carburetted, too! The 150 is powered by a 100 HP O-200 Rolls Royce (haha), and the 152 is powered by a 110 HP O-235 Lycoming. The one I soloed in actually had an upgrade to 125 HP (I don't know if they swapped the engines or played around with the O-235, but it's a common STC and such airplanes are often referred to as "Sparrowhawks" although from what I'm aware of the 150/152 never had a "nickname" like the Skyhawk did) and while it didn't feel underpowered when I was flying solo with full fuel, it felt underpowered the minute anything else came al
  7. If I had to guess (assuming the Herk came first) I'd say this was an early Electra proposal to use as much commonality with the Herk as possible.
  8. You missed Shuttle Tydirium though I believe that's an OOP kit.
  9. Well, to be fair, it's been said that nearly every pilot who's flown in America has flown a 152, and the vast majority of them first soloed in a 152 (I did). And I agree, it does look like a 150 aerobat, although if it is a 152 aerobat, then it truly is special - of the 7,000 or so 152s manufactured, only two were aerobat models!
  10. Nice "What-If" scheme! You should do up an A320 or 737 in those colors!
  11. Only trouble is, it's flying again for one reason and one reason only, and after its last flight from BAe systems it ain't coming back And I'm surprised that an Air Canada ERJ would be this far down south...then again you guys've posted pics of far-overseas airline liveries on aircraft with far short the range to make it, so I'm comfortable with anything being anywhere at this point
  12. It's not the creepy crawlies I'm worried about, it's starving to death because I don't have anything to get a meal with that I'd be worried about. And that anybody at all would willingly drive across the Outback..... :)
  13. Or just whenever flying over the Outback. I've seen enough Survivorman and Man vs. Wild to know that not being armed is not a desirable thing.
  14. I am unable to view many of the pictures including the first two posts (although most of them work for me). Is there some special setting I need to readjust on my browser or what?
  15. I bet he can more realistically and easily buy a Fulcrum or a Flanker which will probably give him far more "kicks".
  16. Is that for tonight? The History Channel online schedule lists "No Room for Error" as being next Thursday.
  17. I checked their schedule and it seems it has been moved to Thursdays now, and I can't find it at all on the week of September 3 (even though they list a full schedule for that week) So what gives?
  18. Since this is brought up a lot, I would like to point out that according to www.aerospaceweb.org the Typhoon (along with the advanced Flanker series) are considered "Generation 4.5" fighters to denote that they were designed during the current time frame and incorporate advanced electronics but lack significant stealth features.
  19. It's likely you're not going to find many "raw" advantages the F-15C has over the EF-2000, considering how there's at least a decade or so of a gap in design time frame. The EF-2000 is more analogous to the F-22 or Su-35, all three of which belong to the current fighter design generation. In case more knowledgeable people do not reply, Airliners.net has several threads on this subject.
  20. I would find it hard to imagine that the answer is anything but "yes," and "yes" without any qualifiers. Although they do have a lot of different types in service, new sources of fighters are still hard to come by - the vast majority of their Sukhios and MiGs and all of their Mirages are Iraqi defectors, and for the time being the bulk of their air force is still Western. I would imagine they probably have a big enough of a parts store to keep sizable numbers still flying, and they've been concentrating on an indigenous parts production base if not flat-out of new-build aircraft. It's been pro
  21. Actually, I think one of our own already outdid it: http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal2...rts/gal1027.htm
  22. All things bright and beautiful indeed
  23. The person who runs Prime Portal frequently posts here, so I would expect that he would reply in a timely manner.
