  1. You're fortunate. I bought the kit through HLJ, and am now in the process of trying to get replacement nose parts through them. They sent me a clear nose piece already, but when I asked about the grey version, they told me they'd only gotten stock of the clear version and that's all they could provide. I'm still back and forthing with them via email, trying to get them to understand that Great Wall Hobby promised to provide the grey AND the clear part to purchasers of the P-61A kit.
  2. Has Revell ever reboxed ICM stuff before? Whatever the case with the Bf109F-4, I'm pretty happy about the He115 news. I'm always glad to see something new in 1/48. Especially something interesting like a twin engined floatplane.
  3. I'm not sure if these are old news or not, but I don't remember seeing anything on them before... GreatModels newsletter mentions there's a 1/48 He115 on the way from Special Hobby, and provides this link: http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=97&t=58494 HLJ and a couple other sites list a Revell 1/48 Bf109F-4 coming out... anyone know if this an old kit or something new they've cooked up? http://www.hlj.com/product/REV04656
  4. Anyone heard anything about this? Tamiya 1/48 Ju87B-2 Stuka w/ Bomb Set http://www.hlj.com/product/TAM37008 Any idea if this is a rebox of some other kit, or a new 1/48 Stuka from Tamiya?
  5. I am in CA also. I had checked my tracking number status this very morning and it still hadn't had any updates since 'preparing for shipment' on December 1st. So your friend in CA may get his soon, fingers crossed.
  6. Well, interesting update. Upon arriving home from a trip out this afternoon, I discovered a package from Brazil waiting for me. My decals actually came. Very happy, not to say somewhat surprised. There's a small wrinkle. I ordered 10 sets... and 10 sets were in the package. But 3 of them were the wrong sets. Ordered and properly received were: Thai Airways for 747 Qantas 'Yanani Dreaming' for 737 Gulf Air for Airbus A319/320 China Airlines for 747 ANA 'Pocket Monsters' for 767 Qantas 'Nalanji Dreaming' for 747 ANA 'Pocket Monsters' for 747 Ordered but NOT received were: Air Asia X
  7. Yup, that's the same reason he gave me for my stuff not going out in a timely fashion... and that was well over a month ago at this point.
  8. Well, like I said, the majority of the guy's feedback has been positive... 356 positive compared to only 10 negative over the last 12 months. But I guess I was one of the unlucky ones. I shall indeed file a complaint.
  9. So here's the thing... I ran across the seller raffachrisbr on Ebay while looking for airliner decals to purchase. Haven't found any actual online shop to buy giodecals/brasil decals from, so I decided to give the Ebay seller a shot, since the brand offers some really nice decal options. I checked the seller's feedback, and though there was a sprinking of negative comments here and there, most of the feedback was positive and most people seemed to be receiving their purchases with no issues. Many people did seem to mention that delivery was slow though. I went ahead and purchases multiple de
  10. I'd definitely like to see more 1/48 kits of british multi-engine stuff. Beaufort (this one used to be on Classic Airframes' release schedule, and is still listed as a 'future release' from Special Hobby) Hampden (I'm a bit scared of the Fonderie Miniatures one, I'd like to see one from Tamiya, Hasegawa, Trumpeter, or any other big manufacturer) Halifax (same as above) Whitley Lincoln Blenheim (I have a couple of the Classic Airframes kits already, but a brand new version would be welcome) Wouldn't mind a brand new 1/32 Beaufighter or Mosquito as well. The new Airfix 1/24 Mosquito is ju
  11. Thanks for that excellent breakdown, LanceB. You'll see similar trends with the Phantoms as well. There's too many releases of the 1/72 Phantom to bother posting data for all, but compare these 2 kits: 1999 - HSG00032 1/72 F-4EJ Kai Super Phantom "1999 Air Combat Meet" - 2200 yen 2009 - HSG00954 1/72 F-4G Phantom II "Egypt I" - 2600 yen That's not a big increase over 10 years. Again, the US dollar price you're seeing on hobby store shelf kits is due to the worsening exchange rate. NOT the price set by Hasegawa.
  12. Sorry, I don't usually post much, but I had some thoughts passing through my head today. As of late, I've read a lot of posts from various modelers, complaining about rising prices on import japanese models. The focus seems to be on Hasegawa kits, but I guess the same could be applied to Tamiya kits as well. Or Fine Moulds, or any other model company based in Japan. The issue here seems to be primarily with people who buy their kits at local hobby shops, or domestic online retailers. Kit buyers are noticing a steep rise in kits prices, even for the same kits that they bought at much lower pr
  13. I'd just like to say I'm actually quite happy with this release. It's true that I have a number of 1/32 Fw190s already, but as this release will cover different variants than what Hasegawa offers, it will fill a nice gap in my collection. Just as the upcoming Hasegawa Bf109F will. I just hope a later model, metal wing Hurricane is still in the works for later on!
  14. I have both the xbox 360 version (Birds of Prey) and the PC version (Wings of Prey). The PC version is the only one I've actually played much. I like it quite a bit, despite some issues here and there. Definitely would like to see more aircraft, the option to choose different skins, and maybe a Pacific Theater expansion in the fullness of time. Need interiors for the bombers as well...

Actually, I buy lots of flawed kits, from a lot of companies. Big stash of kits from Hasegawa, Tamiya, Eduard, MPM, Special Hobby, Azur, Academy, Dragon, Trumpeter, Classic Airframes, Accurate Miniatures, Revell, Monogram, and others. If I waited for only perfect kits, I wouldn't have much to work on. I'll fix what I feel like fixing, and enjoy the building and painting process.
  16. Mine's in the US I think...
  17. Found some more pics of the Dragon Bf110D-3 in 1/48: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10105284
  18. The last I heard is that the kit WILL allow you to show the engine, but it'll also have the option to not show it.... for.... whoever doesn't wanna show it....
  19. Looks like the Fw190D-9 is confirmed as a January 2010 release, according to the latest flyer on eduard's website.
  20. Thanks for the info. I'm happy to hear all this, since I have about 9 or so of these waiting to be built.
  21. Same here... I have 12 of the Eduard Bf110s already, and I'd still get the Dragon kit to check it out...
  22. I paid something like $112 or $114 for my spitfire. $0 for shipping since I added some other stuff to the order and got free shipping from greatmodels.com. Give the quality of the kit, I have no problem with the price. Same price as 2 video games, and I'll get a lot more enjoyment out of the Spitfire, I'm sure. A Corsair would have been nice, I'd pay whatever asking price if the quality were to the standard of the Tamiya 1/32 Zero and Spitfire. Honestly though, there's stuff I would have liked more than the Spitfore OR a Corsair. Something like a metal wing Hurricane is tops on my list... r
  23. http://www.cmkkits.com/en/news/mpm-newsletter-11/ Just in case anyone is interested. The new MPM newsletter has a couple pages of info on Special Hobby's upcoming 1/48 Fiat Br.20 kit. I had read a rumor somewhere that the kit had been cancelled, so I'm glad to see that it is still very much on the way. The newsletter has some sprue shots, and info on the provided markings. It's my understanding that Classic Airframes was going to release a version of this kit as well? Using the same plastic. I wonder if this is still the case?
  24. Got mine from Greatmodels already in the mail. Awesome kit...
  25. Thanks for the heads up, I just went and ordered one, along with a couple Eduard Bf110Gs.
