  1. I've been wanting a new 1/32 Hurricane kit for quite a while now... and at last someone is finally releasing one. I don't think this news has been posted here yet, so here we go... 1/32 Hawker Hurricane Mk I Early Version from Pacific Coast Models... due sometime in December or January I think... and from what I've read, there will be other versions released as well. http://pacmodelscatalog.com/mm5/merchant.m...tegory_Code=pcm I'm pretty excited...
  2. Just a quick modelling (book) related question... I've noticed that Osprey has published 2 different versions of the 'Modelling the P-51 Mustang' book. One features a blue nose Mustang on the cover, and the other features a black Twin Mustang on the cover. Both seem to be by Stan Spooner. Are they the same book with different covers? Or different books with different contents? The kits pictured on the cover of the blue nose Mustang cover book don't seem to be featured in the book I have (black Twin Mustang cover). If someone can confirm that these are entirely different books, I'd like t
  3. It does say, right in the article, 'contains three sprues with plastic parts from Accurate Miniatures'.
  4. I just bought a copy of this combo kit off ebay for $65.50. Not a bad deal.
  5. Not quite a 'dual combo' kit in the strictest sense... but there IS a Royal Class 1/32 Bf109E boxing in the works. Looks like it includes some nifty extras. I'm sure it'll be well over $100 though, like the other Royal Class kits.
  6. Although I'm happy to see more 1/32 kits of british subjects... I could wish they weren't doing pretty much the exact same subject that Pacific Coast Models just released. Would prefer to see 1/32 Hurricane or Typhoon. Or if I was being really optimistic, 1/32 Beaufighter or Mosquito.
  7. I agree. Great price/value ratio with Eduard kits. Yes, Eduard kits may sometimes cost more than kits of the same subject/scale from other manufacturers, but that's because those other manufacturers don't include PE sheets, painting masks, color painting guides, etc. It's much more fair to compare the Weekend Editions with kits from other manufacturers, since the Weekend Editions are just plastic parts + basic decal sheet... much like what the other companies offer. And in that comparison, Eduard prices compare very favorably. I'm quite looking forward to this Fw190A Dual Combo... will be o
  8. A single Eduard Fw190 retails for $39.95, so $80 for a limited edition dual combo kit with more than the normal photoetch, extra plastic parts for different variations, 2 decal sheets with markings for 6 different planes, and a nifty little pin as an extra seems about right.
  9. http://www.eduard.cz/info/photos/1144 Price is a little high, but I think it looks like a nice package, and worth the price.
  10. hi, I don't expect to have much luck, but I'm going to try anyway. I'm looking for a few out-of-production older Eduard kits. If someone is interested in selling, I'll pay whatever asking price you like, as long as the condition of the kit merits the price. Kit must be complete and unstarted, with no parts missing. Must also include original instructions and decals. Must still have the kit box as well. These are the kits I am looking for: 1/48 Yak-1 Limited Edition This is a rebox of the Accurate Miniatures kit. It's this kit: http://www.internetmodeler.com/2006/may/fi...eduard_yak1.php
  11. Do kids build models anymore? At all? If so, I imagine that there might be a market for low cost kits, since accuracy won't be much of an issue to the young ones. I know that when I was a kid, I just enjoyed building models of things... I didn't know anything about accuracy. That said, I'd prefer to stick with the more expensive, but higher quality kits these days. I have a number of 1/48 Hasegawa Bf109Gs already. But for young folks on a budget, then by all means.
  12. Just FYI, Special Hobby and Classic Airframes Buffalo are the same kit. Maybe with some small parts differences to allow for different versions. Between Tamiya and the Special Hobby/Classic Airframes kits, I'm not sure which is deemed better.
  13. I'm still waiting for someone to do a nice new 1/32 Hurricane. But I'm sure that's not what Tamiya would be doing. Whatever they come up with (and whenever), I'm sure it'll be interesting.
  14. I thought I read somewhere (a while back) that when Tamiya finally released another 1/32 WWII kit, it would be a Corsair. Don't remember where I saw this though.
  15. Only problem is, it can be hard to decide which version you'd rather build. Unfortunately I no longer have the space to store multiple copies of kits I like, in the expectation that I'll 'get around to building all of them someday'.
  16. I've been awaiting more info on this kit for some time (like what options and markings it will include), so I was happy to see Eduard has posted up an info page for the kit. Thought I'd post the link here for anyone that's interested. http://www.eduard.cz/info/photos/8205/
  17. They did. In German and Finnish markings.
  18. Although I want a new 1/32 Hurricane the most, a new 1/32 Typhoon would be welcome as well. I've got a lot of 1/32 American, German, Japanese, and even French aircraft in the 'to do' pile, but very little British (just the PCM Spitfires) and no Russian at all. I guess the P-39 might be a logical choice for Hasegawa... but I wouldn't be too excited, since I've already got 3 of the Special Hobby 1/32 Airacobras. Would be surprising, but very nice, if Hasegawa did something Russian in 1/32.
  19. Excuse my ignorance on the subject, but is the He111 that much bigger and more complicated than the Ju88?
  20. According to various future release schedules I've looked at: Hasegawa 1/32 Shoki (due out in July I think) Eduard will continue its 1/32 Bf109 line with an E-3, E-7, E-7 Trop, Royal Class boxing, F-2, and F-4 Special Hobby has announced 1/32 Yak-3, Fiat G.55, and Macchi C.200 Early Version (no idea when any of those might get released, but I really want to see the Yak-3, as I have ZERO russian aircraft in 1/32 right now) Azur is doing a 1/32 CR.714 Hobbycraft will supposedly do a line of Spitfires and early Bf109s, and a Wirraway? I really really REALLY want someone to release a new 1/3
  21. I think Tamiya's latest 1/48 Zero showed that there's always room for improvement, even when the existing kits are already considered good (the Hasegawa Zero series). Similarly, I'm sure Eduard COULD top the currently available 1/48 Bf109Es... the only question is WILL they.
  22. In addition to the Fw190D-9 and Fw190D-11/13 kits, they've also got the Fw190A nachtjager dual combo kit coming. Not that I'm complaining... I'm looking forward to these. As far as the 1/48 Bf109E... they've already done the research on the subject, and the kits would be almost guaranteed to sell well... so they'd basically be crazy NOT to do it. But yes, I am eager to see kits of less popular subjects as well. Keenly interested in more French and Russian subjects in 1/48. Also interested in seeing more of the Japanese multi-engine stuff in 1/48.
  23. If their 1/32 Bf109E and talked about future 1/32 Spitfire prove profitable, I'm hoping Eduard will then work on a new 1/32 Hurricane. For a while I had hoped that Hasegawa might tackle the 1/32 Hurricane, but Hasegawa seems quite focused on Japanese subjects at the moment... I can't see myself being TOO interested in a 1/48 Bf109E from Eduard, since I have a large pile of Hasegawa (and some Tamiya) Bf109Es in 1/48 already. But if Eduard can come up with a sweet package (nice kit, good marking options, PE extras, nice boxart) I might be tempted to buy some.
  24. Will do. Just give me a few days... may take me a little while to find the spare time to dig through my stuff to find the kits. Also, upon reflection, I think I might have a spare copy of the Messerschmitt Bf109F-4 Trop 'North Africa' kit. If I can find it, I can sell you the duplicate copy if you're still interested.
  25. FYI, there's yet another on the way: 09879 Bf109E Galland w/ figure
