  1. Its been a while since i finished the Tomcat but here is my latest build a Italeri 1/72 Intruder A6-E. I used Mr Hobby paints, Promodellers Dark Wash, and Hi Decals decals. I got the kit from ebay but it didn't have any decals and i could only find the Hi Decals in 1/72 and i have to say they were the worst decals i've ever had the misfortune of using, they were brittle, wouldn't settle even with micro sol and would brake up if you looked at them the wrong way :D , hence why some of them never made it on to the intruder, this is the first time i've used their decals so maybe i had on old do

  7. Finally finished! But it didn't all go to plan I had a some hismaps, somehow i managed to lose two of the sensor probes to the carpet monster! one of the uss John F kennedy decals has vanished? no idea when that came off as i only noticed it when i was taking the photo's and to top it off i managed to get a super glue finger print on the canopy when i was fitting it!!! apart from that i'm pretty happy how it turned out, i will definately be making another Tomcat and Definately be using Fightertown Decals again :D Here's a couple of pics of her finished i'll put some more in the Critiq

  9. Hi All , A quick update, i've been working as fast as i can to get my Tomcat finished before Christmas so i've not had chance to take many pics. Since my last update i've covered the engine shrouds in Scale motor sport 1/48 carbon decal I applied 4 decals in total one for each and bottom, i made a template from kitchen foil first then transfered this to the decal cut it out and applied it. Not sure if i would do this again on my next build as i found the decal needed quite a lot of Micro sol and no matter how hard i tired i couldn't get them to lay wrinkle free, but they don't look to
  10. Hi Kostas Yeah i know, my mistake but i'm gonna leave now as i just want to get it finished for my group build.

  15. Thats basically what i had done upto this weekend, i managed to get most of sunday to work on the CAT, fist order of the day was spraying the underside. I spray outside in a nonheated, brafty leaking workshop, plastic sheets on the ceiling to stop me getting dripped on and it was FREEZING on sunday! not the best conditions to work in but i'm short on time so i just got on with it. The pics below are how it turned out at the end of sunday, i used Mr Hobby Colour for the three shades being 307, 308, 337 i think. This is another first for me as i've never painted a TPS before and i wanted it t
  16. My Drpepper Cans arrived so they had to be fitted, as you can see below you need to do a bit of work to get them to fit BEFORE AFTER Engines were painted white then Alclad Steel bands sprayed, then Jet exhaust streaks etc, forgot to take a pic of the streaks The cans were painted with Games Workshop Silver and then shading with Alcald Gold Titanium, Decals from Drpepper, i've only got this pic of them, the tails in the pic are'nt finished, still need painting. Air brake wells were painted red and the wheel wells white then masked off and the whole airframe sprayed XF-19 as a
  17. Evening Everyone, I just checked my last post on this build and it was dated 24th September , works been mad and i've been diverted by these three i'm building them for someone, so the Tomcat has taken a backseat, BUT no more, as i'm fast running out of time to complete it before 1st Jan, so i've cleared the bench and got the Tomcat backout. Quite a lot to catch up on so bear with me, i'll just post some pics with a few words. In my last post i was trying to sort out the fire retardent covering on the LGB's, this is the first time i've tried this and i have to say i'm really pleased
  18. Thats a beauty the weathing is stunning, i think i'll give your TPS guide a go, if my Victory 101 turns out half as good i'll be pleased. How did you make that base by the way was it printed? i could do with something like that for mine ;)
  19. Wow thants looking really Good, nice work Stanton although your making me look bad i started my Tomcat before you and i'm no where near painting it yet :D
  20. Nice work Markus :) Where did you get those silver stripe and dot decals on the shrouds from?? Doc
  21. Hi, what colour did you pray your GBU-12, i thought they were Qlive Drab but i just painted mine and they look too dark
  22. Cheers Guys I've given the undercarriage a wash with black enamel thinned with white spirit Just a few details bits to pick out , put the tyres on and there done. Doc
  23. and my Eduard set arrived so i've fitted a few grills and sensor mount plates, i'm starting to hate super glue it seems to bond instantly when i don't want it to and then never stick when i really need it! bomb racks are on too you get a nice cockpit surround in the Eduard set with canopy latches and after looking at it i thought mine plastic looked a bit bear, so i cut off and trimmed the edge parts and stuck them on, they look ok but again until the paint goes on i wont be 100% sure, if they look pants i'll take them off Now onto the undercarriage, i seem to have made a right
