  1. Hi folks, Time for me to be a pain once more... I'm looking for a set of decals for the FROG/ Novo Fairey Delta FD.2. I only require the serial numbers (WG774), as I have suitable roundels, stencils, etc. Please PM me with details; I will of course pay for postage. Thanks in advance, Don
  2. Depends. If I have several of the same type, I'll build them as part of a production line. The idea is to save time and hopefully, use resources (clearcoat, etc.) more effectively. Recently, I did this with nine Lancasters. The builds went OK, despite having variations on the standard Lanc (Dambuster, Grand Slam, Mk.II and Mk.X). However, my latest production line is a tad stalled; the two Dornier Do.217s ( E and J variants) that have been under construction for a while have been suffering from neglect, no doubt due to a lack of enthusiasm on my part. Don
  3. Hi chaps & chapesses, Time for me to be a pain once more... As the title suggests, I am looking for a part for the Lindberg Dornier Do.17Z, kit no. 2316. The part in question is Part #8, the RH half of the Starboard nacelle. IIRC, this kit was reboxed under the Monogram label, and later (?) under the Matchbox branding. If you can assist, please PM with details, cost, etc. Many thanks in advance. Don
  4. As an "amusing diversion" from the Lancaster II and Manchester : A Midland Red SOS - FEDD bus. It was built from a white metal kit produced by Mike Toman Models, and must be at least 20 years old. I built it when I was in a "nostalgic" frame of mind! These days, when I feel the need to buy model buses, they tend to be of the ready-made, diecast variety! Don
  5. Sorry, I forgot to mention - The model is an old one that I am using for experiments (rather than ruin a decent kit). It originally "flew" from the bedroom ceiling, and hopefully will do so again! Hence why I am reluctant to use a relay. Don
  6. I wonder if anyone can assist me? I have been inspired by several articles on here - I wish to add lighting, using LEDs to one of my 1:72 aircraft. The lighting itself is straightforward, however, I am toying with the idea of automating it, i.e. the lights switch themselves on when it is dark. The devices I have to hand are photodiodes and a CdS cell (ORP12 I think.) I have seen a few ORP12 circuits on the Internet, but they all seem to use relays for the actual switching (There isn't really enough space in the model for a relay)... Are there any circuits that do not require a relay? A
  7. All of them, but I have a soft spot for the 747... Don
  8. Hello Trumper, Thanks for your comments - I'm glad you liked the model! In answer to your questions: Yes, the Aeroclub nose is a little too wide; I toyed with the idea of either heat-treating it to improve the fit, but I chickened out. In the end, I just fitted it, applied Humbrol Filler around the offending edges, and sanded the join. There appears to be a "join" on the real aircraft modified with the 'Z' nose; those aircraft which were built with it (of which I think HR727 was) do not show a join. I attached the Aeroclub nose with Humbrol Clearfix and left the model to set for a wee
  9. Just rolled-out (and placed on these pages in time for it's big brother's anniversary - Thanks Steve!) is my Halifax. See it here: http://www.arcair.com/Gal9/8001-8100/gal80...-Bryans/00.shtm Currently butchering 2 Airfix Lancasters into a Mk.II and a Manchester. Don
  10. It does have the "solid" nose with guns. There are also 2 types of empennage - Does anyone know which one is correct for the respective types? The instructions are bl00dy awful... I will be building a nightfighter version and a bomber. The bomber will have provision for mounting the Me.328 just in case I fancy a Mistel!

    B-24D Decals

Apologies if this question has been posted before... I am looking for decals for "Lady Be Good" in 1:72 scale. Do any of the major manufacturers produce a set? I have checked the usual stockists here in the U.K., but no joy so far. Thanks in advance. Don
  12. Nice work! Is it the Revell kit?
  13. Thanks for the link. Bookmarked!
  14. Apart from the above issues identified by Falcon50EX (which to be honest, I didn't notice when I built my "Enola Gay" about 7 years ago): I had to add LOTS of weight to keep the d@mn nose on the ground. I packed lead sheet into every available space into the nose, also into the nacelles immediately behind the propellors. I did include the rear compartment though, so, as Falcon says, if you omit this, you should be O.K.
  15. I've recently finished a RevelloGram B-52D. Photos will appear in due course. Just entering the paintshop is my Handley - Page Halifax Mk.II (Revell). Again, I will be posting an article on the build... Be prepared for a surprise!
