  1. Progress! Typical old Dragon/Trimaster. Sure ain't shake and bake, but it's not terrible. I'm trying to build things as "modular" as I can, to assist with cleaning up seams around the jet inlet and exhaust.
  2. There are quite a few Luftwaffe '46 kits. Lots of fun 😄
  3. I can't even remember the last time I posted a build on ARC, must be many years ago, but here seems like a good place to rejoin. I've got the other 3 mistels in storage on the other side of the planet, and when this one came up for sale, I figured it was a good time to complete the set. I'll be experimenting with alclads and different camouflage styles on this one. Should be fun! Box top shot:
  4. I do a LOT of driving and the "On The Bench" and "Scale Model Podcast" podcasts provide a lot of inspiration and entertainment. Good fun to have playing whilst im building to. DC
  5. Ok, this could be fun. I've got a He162/Me262 mistel thats been eye balling me since I added it to the stash.
  6. Not to ask the obvious, but Is the cowl supposed to fit to the wing and fuselage? Or is there meant to be a big gap between those, with the cowl only attaching to the engine?
  7. Wow that looks spot on! Put me down as another who buy a couple if given the chance! D
  8. Utterly gorgeous! What are the squiggly lines on the wings and vertical stabs?
  9. Fair point Trev, its the same old story, income for us mere mortals not growing anywhere near the growth of inflation, and it is a drag! I moved from Aus to the US last year, and it really opened my eyes to just how over taxed some things are in Australia. It seems to be the usual scale of economy problem. Its a pity but its the way things are. It never ceases to blow the mind of the locals over here when i regale them with tales of horror of just how expensive things like petrol or car rego are back home in Aus! Denzil
  10. I think you guys are al.missibg a big part of this pricing equation: where the kit is being purchased. A museum is a tourist attraction, and like all tourist attractions, everything is sold at a premium. I'm sure if you had a look at their Cafe's menu, you'd find prices much higher than what you could buy elsewhere. To find that a museum is charging higher prices than large retailers is not at all surprising. We know the going prices for these kits and we know where else we can buy them. For the rest of the population, their impulse want of a model of the plane they just saw
  11. I’m in! I’ve got a Revell 1/32 F-4G to donate 😁
  12. Might be cheating, but there are a few planes at my home airfield, Gatton Airpark (between Brisbane and Toowoomba) 😄
  13. Yep, ill be at Osh all week. 3rd time for me and i can not wait!! Camus27, did you happen to walk by the Aircorps Aviation booth at Duluth? I was there most of the weekend!
  14. I'll be in for a set if there is an option like the profile that Sean posted!
  15. Great story and pics, Steven! There's absolutely nothing on the planet like Oshkosh. Best thing ever! Love the shots of "Our" P-51, Sierra Sue II! She is a stunner, and with the re-enactors, she comes alive! I know that Aircorps would love to see the pics you took to, if you'd like to share them, shoot them an email and tell them Denzil sent you :D info@aircorpsaviation.com If you get to Oshkosh this year, our latest, P-51C Lope's Hope 3rd, is planned to be there. Check her out! I'll be at the Aircorps Aviation stand at multiple points during the week
  16. Maybe the prop guys are actually building models, rather than just talking about it? 🤣
  17. Im a big fan of the ide of video game product tie ins. Yes you can buy ready build statuettes and fugurines, but all a BIG $$$ Where are our Halo Warthog kits? Racing game tie ins, i just built a vitual car with a custom paint scheme in Need For Speed? Print the decals on my printer at home so i can can build a model of MY car. Problem seems to me that us at the 'fanatical' end of the spectrum seem to forget that, young billy doesnt care if the kit molded the incorrect elevator mass ballance screws on his ME109E. They want easy, simple with rapic vusual progress. Hobby Boss' easy kits are
  18. I think this conversation is a fantastic example of the whole EV argument in a nutshell. Youve got: *folks who HAVE used the new tech in THEIR real world and found it to be sutible for them. *Folks who are on the fence and waiting to see where the new tech goes *folks who dont want the change, who like the way things are, and what they have. Same as EVERY break from the norm since the dawn of time (id imagine, ive not been around THAT long ;) ) I can only imagine the nay sayers bemoaning the introduction of ICE powered autos, using EXACTLY the same argument as here. "There arent any pet
  19. Markings for "Just Dreamnin'" straight outa the box!!! I'll be down for a few of these!
  20. He'd have been humbled to see such a response. Just goes to show, ARC members really are a part of a family, of sorts. It was a sudden illness. Id spoken to him a few weeks prior, and everything was fine then. Take care, all. D
  21. Ross passed away over the weekend :( He was a genuine bloke, great sense of humor and always had a story to tell. RIP mate, you will be missed. D

    Cessna 188 agwagon

Your best bet at conversion would be to start with the Monogram Cessna 180. The wings and empenage can be used, but everything else will have to be made from scratch. Sounds like an interesting project actually, especially a Husky with the 720 cube flat 8 :-D As for Civvy subjects, yeah, its a drag. Some large scale kits of at least the popular subjects would be brilliant. Even Combat Models style VacForms to give the basics would be a good start. D
