+100 on that. Eduard, If you could do this for the modern day russian jets (Migs, and Sukhoi's) then you will have solidified yourselves as the best of the best. So what are you waiting for .... get to work - Matt
-
Why not just do ALL of the Migs made after the -21 !!! Seems obvious to me that it would work. - Matt
-
What other online vendors will be selling them ? - Matt

The travelling goodies box aka MAFIA Box

I'd like to add my support for allowing partial decals also. - Matt -
Got a link for it ? - Matt

Hmmm.... that G-S Hypo Cement sounds really good...I may have to buy some of that stuff. Usually I use the Tamiya Extra Thin to glue down the clear parts (yes it does not fog up the clear parts, even wo Future) but the gap was too big so I went to the clear stuff....but I needed to apply some pressure to get it to stay down....and that's when it happened. The glue has dried clear....but since it ran up the front of the IP coaming it shows up easily as a "glossy/wet" black area vs the rest of the flat balck IP coaming. I decided to just live with it....it's not worth tearing it all up to fix
-
Did it again. The testors white clear glue crept under the windscreen and capilaried itself up the front coaming of the IP and windscreen. This is the second time on this same build....the first time I cut off the darn thing and tried it again (but not just because of the glue sneaking under; but because I screwed something else up also). I am thinking about leaving it this time, since I can't justify the effort of doing this a 3rd time....... Any advice or other bright ideas ? - Matt

They didn't seem to be very thick and glossy when I opened my box up last night. My guess is that one of the Aftermarket guys will be releasing some decals for VA-35 before long .... just don't know if they will be hi-viz or not. - Matt

This may get you started: Either one or both of the OMS (orbital Manuevering system) engines can fire, depending upon the orbital maneuver. Each OMS engine can produce 6,000 lb (26,400 N) of thrust. The OMS engines together can accelerate the shuttle by 2 ft/s2 (0.6 m/s2). This acceleration can change the shuttle's velocity by as much as 1,000 ft/s (305 m/s). To place into orbit or to de-orbit takes about 100-500 ft/s (31-153 m/s) change in velocity. Orbital adjustments take about 2 ft/s (0.61 m/s) change in velocity. The engines can start and stop 1,000 times and have a total of 15 h burn ti

I'd add to the list: Flat White, Dullcote, and I can never find enough Light Ghost Gray or Gunship Gray. - Matt -
Sad info coming out of Promodellers site...

Personally I like Flory Models better anyways. It's way more personal, than business like, as ProModellers was in any incarnation. Good Choice Phil. - Matt -
We hit 82 yesterday and should be stuck in the 30s from Tues - Thursday with a chance for ice/snow thursday night/friday morning. I hope we get some of it too. if we only get 0.10" of ice it will shutdown the city here and I will not be going into work. Our one week of winter per. year has come. - Matt

F-104 G STARFIGHTER #04552 Does anyone know if this is the Hasegawa F-104G being re-popped by Revell ? - Matt

This will look ugly for a while, but I am determined to get it done. Here are some bonus shots (Cockpit of the 1/32nd Academy F-16I) - Matt

Here are the latest pics. I have created the vent just forward (pilot side) of the front landing gear. This vent is always open when the landing gear is down. I have created the conic sections of the radome. I had to cut it to account for the plastic that will cover it, filler, etc....to make sure that when I attach it, there will not be a step. I also started on the avionics cooling and pressurization vent on top/behind the cockpit. Right now I only have the opening in place and the sides cut to the proper profile. I will finish this soon. The big thing is starting to build up

Now that Revell's 1/48 B-1B is available again

+1 on that. Speaking of the external stores. Does anyone have any pics of the ALCMs and their associated pylons/adapters ? For a future project I plan to build one that way...and I have not been able to locate any pics (except for one black and white taken inflight from below; so you cannot see the pylons at all). - Matt -
All, It's time to revive this puppy from the shelf. I've been very busy this last year and this project got put on hold for various reasons. I've also managed to re-kindle the motivation/interst to move on. So starting now I have pulled it back out and started work on opening up one of the vents. I plan to work on finishing up the forward sub assembly over the next few weeks. Expect pictures this weekend coming. - Matt

Think this link may get you started. >> LINKY << I am almost done building mine in 72nd scale. I'd rather do it in 48th, but the 72nd scale decals were the only ones I could find. - Matt

I don't have that exact kit....but I am almost done with the -K "Slam" version. I can safely say that yes; the intakes gave me problems. They went together well enough, but once they were attached to the fuelage; that's where all the trouble started. They did not allign too well. Each side was off and to get one side alligned meant having a large gap that needed to be filled. The other side had a large step to deal with. I recommend doing one side first. and then do the other side as best a you can; in such a way as to minimize the cleanup work......and be patient. As for me the biggest probl

Those Fightertown decals are made for the Monogram kit IIRC....how well did they fit on the Kinetic ? Especially the big "hawk" decalon the tail . - Matt

I agree that the quality is much better (not a single air bubble in the molds) and the fit is about as good as a lot of plastic kits. The accuracy seems to be on the rise also. I can't wait; it's on my want list along with the C-141B, C-5, and the KC-10 in 72nd. I just completed the 1/144th 3MD and about to spray the TU-128 that come with the TU-22 kit. - Matt
