  1. 2 same era bomber comparison: I try to finish 12 models a year; and as usual I didn't meet my goal...oh, well that leaves more to do later. - Matt
  2. 1/144 B-52 (Revell) -- strictly OOB 1/144 3MD Bison (Anigrand) -- strictly OOB. This is an excellent kit. The only issue was warped wings but that was solved with my wife's hair dryer.
  3. 1/72 Mig-31 (Zvezda) -- OOB; except I added some weapons from the DML weapons set and aftermarket decals 1/144 B-2 (Revell) -- strictly OOB
  4. 1/48 F/A-18C (Hase.) -- AIM-120 Test flight 1/72 SU-25 (Zvezda) -- OOB; except I added some weapons from the DML weapons set
  5. Here goes from biggest to smallest (Scale Wise): 1/32 Mig-29M (Trumpeter) -- strictly OOB. I was not too thrilled with the decals as they didn't seem to want to stick well. 1/48 Rafale B (RoG.) -- Used WolfPack CFT and other updates.
  6. Exactly my thoughts.....2 hours is a looong time for an interview. They will not go that long if they are not interested. Generally when I interview a person, the first interview is kept to under 30 minutes with ALL interviewees (except the really stellar ones (a rarity!)). Then the second interview; if they make it, will generally go for an hour. The last time I was involved in an interview that went 2 hours was when I got my current job. I had another interview a while back that went about 1.5 hours and then I never heard anything for 3 months. Finally they called me and told that as a
  7. Yep, that TU-128 is a beast. You did a hell of a job on it too. I will fisinish an OOB Anigrand 1/144 TU-128 (it comes with their TU-22 kit). My Amodel one was so banged up that I was simply not ready skill wise for it at the time and have since ordered a new one that came in much better shape....so we'll see how it goes together later....hopefully it looks as good as yours ! Did you scratch/modify the engines or is it aftermarket ? The rest of the kits a re superb. I really like that VC-10 and TU-22....I watched some of your n progress on it and it will help me with my future build, thanks.
  8. Did I miss something here. I got the Squadron January flyer and find decals from Zotz for a 1/32nd SU-22....I fugured it was a misprint. So I checked Sprue Bros. and they have them also. Is there a 32nd scale kit of this aircraft ??? .... if so how'd I miss that boat.... - Matt
  9. I see about 5 of those paint schemes that I'd like to do from just that one box.... - Matt
  10. Sounds good so far. Do you have a different suit, tie, etc for tomorrow ? So what are the details on this job ? What would you be doing, or is it multiple positions that you are interviewing for and they are trying to figure out what the best one may be for you? - Matt
  11. ....and I learned something. My background has always been in the natural sciences; so I have always been very short on history. - Matt
  12. Insky, I never claimed to understand the Chinese people. Nor am I saying that the Chinese economy is a failure or about to fail; I am no economist. Nor did I mean any offense if any offense were taken. I am just saying that the US and Russia are selling their latest 5th Gen AC to other countries and that I think the chinese will too. It would help any nations economy. I agree why a country would create new weapons; to protect themselves, but I know how valuable weapons are too for selling them. As far as the chinese making a 5th Gen. fighter goes: I say congratulations ! Your quote: "Dip
  13. Don't forget the pension. The Gov. I work for puts in $2.25 for every $1.00 that I put in once vested. The pension has gained 8% every year for the last 30 years....you can't beat that anywhere (except when stocks are hot, but never for that long). - Matt
  14. It's probably a marketing stunt....letting it be seen by the rest of the world. If they follow the US and Russia, I bet they will be looking to sell it. I get the sense that the chinese are like the USA...in the sense they want to be a world power and they can do it via. their economy (provided it doesn't fail). Just another angle on my thoughts about this at the macro level. - Matt
  15. Wear the tie ! Think about it this way....what do you have to loose by wearing it....what to do potentially have to loose by not wearing it....a job. - Matt
  16. My condolences to his family. I miss him sorely even though I never met him. When I stumbled on ARC a few years ago, he was the first person that I came to know and the first to say hello. I've always enjoyed his insights and stability he brought to many threads that were starting to get out of control. My day dimmed first thing this morning when I got to work and logged in to see this news....it has since gone dark when I checked back in after dinner. Godspeed Matt...my prayers are with you and I hope to meet you someday then it is my time. - Matt
  17. Got that right.....I depend too much on him for news. C'mon Matt....you can beat this and pull through. - Matt
  18. Not the best. You had to ask; so here's the brutal straight up answer: I fell a sleep at 11PM and woke up with abdominal pains 5 minutes before midnight. I was on the toilet with nasty diahrea when the nieghboors started setting off fire works. Other than that I usually never pay attention to a new year because I have no idea what it will bring....besides there was nothing wrong with the previous year, so why celelbrate the end of it. - Matt
  19. My prayers are with you Matt ! - Matt
  20. Well according to these guys this would be allowed to be entered into the OOB category. http://www.archertransfers.com/AR88013.html - Matt
  21. I've heard of someone spraying the sheet with a gloss coat prior to the dip in water to help holds the decs. together Personally I have not tried it myself....so I cannot vouch for it's effectiveness. I threw it out there because I just read that tip the other day and it was a new tip to me. - Matt
  22. I watched that show last night with my wife (she coupons, but not anywhere near to that extreme, thank God. or It would end in a divorce .... look at what couponing has doen to that first couple shown....I'd throw her out in an instant). I have ~300 kits in my stash. I try to maintain the level right there. I also have issues with storing those kits. I am not willing to sacrifice large sq footage of my house for a stash....or for half of a grocery store. I have my hobby which is nearly an addiction.... but they have a * serious * addiction problem and hide behind the "it saves money" excuse.
  23. Don't hold your breath on that. I think I saw him say on the other site that he will not be doing anymore stuff for the viggen because of this impending release. - Matt

    YF-12A

I didn't know the YF-12A was back....in limited edition. YF-12A @ Lucky Model Was this announced, and I missed it ? - Matt
  25. Better hold on to your Zvezda 787 kits. They may become a rarity and fly better than the real thing..... - Matt
