  1. Brother Le O: that is an extraordinary airplane. I hope you are proud of yourself - awesome. AndrewL
  2. yeah, baby, yeah. that is fantastic work.
  3. This is one of those rare models that changes perceptions of what it is possible to achieve. You just opened up a whole new realm of possibility, Richy. (In particular, I don't think people ever thought seriously about superdetailing and scratching engines accurately, even in their wildest dreams, but they sure will now.) Hopefully there will be some exalted few who follow you, but you are the one who opened up the space. AndrewL
  4. totally breathtaking richy.
  5. This is the stuff of legend. I return everyday with bated breath. One thing: what if something goes wrong with the LEDs, or whatever, once the fuselage halves a joined? Is there a contingency plan? AndrewL
  6. If you are sure it is cleaned OK, then try tightening the nozzles a fraction by turning it one more quarter turn. (I haven't read everyone else's posts, so if I am repeating someone else's post, apologies) AndrewL
  7. I do exactly what Mike V said as well. AndrewL
  8. word. i agree that teachers are criminally under-appreciated, where I'm from too (Australia). Props to you man. A.
  9. sorry, dude, it wasn't a comment on you, it was a snide (and, yes, completely unnecessary) comment on the tax policies of certain world leaders ... AndrewL
  10. He must earn over $200,000 a year. No other explanation I can see.
  11. Hi John Sounds like you have a technique now, but just thought I would refer you to Jerome's work, posted on this site recently. His site, which contains detailed pictures of his scratchbuilding is at http://jerome.olympe.ch/ I asked him once how he carved the basic shape of the airframe and this was his reponse: You should search in 'In-progress Pics' for this post to see the pics he included in his reply. Also, it is possible that this method only works for a shape which has a uniform cross-section from front to back, for at least a large part of the fuselage, but you may be able to
  12. Hi OBD I've used ELO quite a bit, and recently. ELO will get the surface perfectly clean of all paint - you will need to do some light 'scrubbing' with a soft brush (scrubbing is too harsh a word, but you know what I mean), but it will all come off. At least in my experience. [Edit: I have always been stripping acrylic paint ... ] Not sure if you have to mask clear parts. My guess would be no, but can't hurt. And as for the Plastic Prep. never used it. i just use soap + water or alcohol swabs ... HTH AndrewL
  13. mkimages welcome to ARC, dude. (a) thanks for the photo techniques chat. great to hear it from a professional (b) that is some sweet aggressor hornet love in your photo. love it. andrew
  14. I think a simple tip is to look at the spot on the model where you want to end up, not the point where you are spraying now. HTH AndrewL.
