  1. Looks like I'm the unwitting butt of a joke. What a glorious return to ARC. :/ Eh, that irc software isn't mine, just one I found on the net. Any irc client should work, and yes #ARC (should be lower case, the editor keeps capitalizing it for me needlessly) on irc.ircstorm.net is public. Here are some other irc clients to try: http://www.mirc.com/ (windows) http://xchat.org/ (windows / linux) http://www.irssi.org/ (unix) http://www.mibbit.com/ (java based) There are hundreds of others, feel free to google for whatever client you want if these don't meet your needs.
  2. Ok, I'll propose an irc server/channel. server: irc.ircstorm.net channel: #ARC (that should be lowercase 'a' 'r' 'c', but it keeps getting auto-uppercased I have it setup already. You can use mirc, irssi, or any other IRC client to connect to it. http://www.notechsoft.com/irc.asp The above link is a web based irc client which can be used (and if the admins want to download it, they can add a link to it up in the nav bar). Come one and all.
  3. So is there an alternate chatroom? If not, I know of a few irc servers we could use.
  4. Over time the tires will break down and sag. Doubly so with a good bit of weight sitting on them. The stands keep the weight off the tires so they last a lot longer and they don't have to replace the wheels prior to moving it in the future. And the stands won't roll in high winds like the tires.
  5. Very interesting idea. I will have to give that a try soon. I have a ton of foam styrene scrap lying around.
  6. There is also parking just a couple blocks away in the chestnut garage. (I'm a local) Chestnut Street Parking 44 E Chestnut St Columbus, OH 43215 (614) 249-8702‎ It is where I usually park for stuff at the convention center. Just a few blocks further is the front street garage. 285 N Front St, Columbus, OH‎ - (614) 221-0461‎ See this pdf for all the local parking: parking pdf
  7. I have an old book called "the worlds worst airplanes" and the sea dart is in it. I've always been tempted to get the revell delta dart and convert it... in fact, most of the planes listed in the "worlds worst" would make great projects due to their uniqueness.
  8. Thanks for the links guys. In poking around for info on a t-38 I ran into the site I've been looking for during the past few weeks. Aircraft Enthusiast Corner
  9. I think I'm going nuts. I know a few weeks ago I was looking for the tail numbers of the one c-22c that was built and found a website via google that listed tail number info. The site listed data for all kinds of aircraft and had it broken down by model c-22a, c-22b, c-22c, etc and what tail numbers/registrations fell into which model designation. Of course it spanned way more than the c-22. Does anyone happen to know of the site that provided all this info or provides similar info? Ideally I want to browse through say, (an example) the F/A-18E listings to find a tail number that would ma
  10. Fair enough, the consensus seems to be that the gallon jug isn't worth the effort. Thanks guys.
  11. So, with the posts about 3m glazing putty, I got thinking about the hardware store. In wandering through the paint section I saw that they have several 1gal cans of what is labeled "auto body filler". Does anyone know the composition of this stuff and is it at all useful as putty on models? It came in what looked like 1gal cans and was about $23.
  12. Even though the kit ones aren't log enough, I used them anyway. I did what I could with files and such to level the seams out. After that I took a rubber stopper and plugged up the back end and with a pipette filled the inside with white house paint (thick stuff). After letting the excess run out after removing the stopper the interior seams are gone. I will warn that the house paint dries pretty thick though.
  13. That is really slick. I have one of these in my pile and you make me want to dig it out and start on it.
