  1. The ProModeler boxing is quite rare, and for what it's worth, the extra weapons, while nice, are slightly inaccurate (still worth any extra in cost, you get 2 GBU-15 (and datalink pod), 4 GBU-10, 2 AIM-120, 2 LAU-128/ADU-155, plus the Lakenheath Tiger Meet tiger stripe scheme. The Academy, while old and inaccurate for a E, should not be overlooked comletely; Academy recently released a F-15K, which is essentially a E with General-Electric engines. Very nice kit, take a look at it.

Far left is a FAB-250 (more recent aerodynamic style), also mountable in sextuplets on a MER
  3. Thought it was about time to post a pic of the aircraft's pilot/owner; Major Maya 'Princess' Kudou, S-101 flight lead for S-100 Shinigami Sq. in the Fuji International PMC
  4. (Edit:) By the way, are you going to try and scratchbuild a couple racks of FAB-120s for this thing? OR just R-27s/73s?
  5. *Phoenix Mach-1 Engine -Not an aircraft but worthy of mention in its own right. Designed as an indigenous replacement for the Russian AL-31, it was developed as a hybrid turbofan/ramjet engine, with the ramjet occurring at high mach numbers. Backpressure and venturi were provided by an experimental, unique setup with a lower, scooped petal and a 'thumb' that pressed down into the scooped petal, creating a U-shaped channel for gases to pass through. This had the effect of generating vortexes around the exit flow and accelerating the outflow, increasing thrust, this effect further enhanced by r
  6. Still looks a heckuvalot better than the smooshed one on the 9-13 kits.
  7. :) Now, put that hump on an Echo model with s/MTD features, maybe GE F-110s with the Iris TV nozzle? (fitted to GE-engined VISTA F-16) (Edit: spelling error)
  8. Damn...the Germans come up with the bucking fest display schemes. Awesome work! :Love it to pieces!
  9. No, that's the F-35. the Yak-41/141 had two turbojets mounted vertically behind the cockpit as well as a swivelling exhaust nozzle (same mechanics as the F-35's)
  10. I always thought (and was told by 1 or 2 members here) that Sidewinders were not carried on the wingtip stations (anymore) because in A2A combat the AMRAAMs would be first off, and if they're on the wingtips then that's reduced mass on the extreme ends of the roll axis, and thus improved maneuverability.
  11. Quick Q, why don't the USMC harriers have the dedicated 'Winder rails the Brits' have?
  12. Hey victor, looks nice so far, keep it up! B) Good work on the new windscreen as well, cannot wait to see the canards! (or is it a canard-less Su-30?)
  13. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/air/index....7353&st=100 Sprue shots on page 6, as well as a decal sheet overview.
  14. Dude, one word on this project: :( Awesome work!
  15. One word for the work you've done on this kit: Awesome!
  16. Left Wingtip: AIM-120A/B Left Wing Pylon: GBU-31 Right Cheek Station: AAQ-28 LITENING Right Wing Pylon: 2x GBU-12 Right Wingtip: AIM-120C Details: The left wingtip missile, the AIM-120A/B, is a medium-range (about 60mi IIRC) radar-guided missile. the AIM-20C on the right wingtip is an updated variant, the most important feature being 'clipped' fins to allow carriage by the F-22/F-35 The GBU-31 under the left wing is of the BLU-109 variety. The GBU-31 is a 2000lb iron bomb equipped with the JDAM (Joint Direct Attack Munition) kit that turns a dumb (unguided) bomb into a smart
  17. Cool, I've got this in my stash and was wondering how it built-up. You did a great job on it, like the English roundels! -_- [Edit spelling error]
  18. I've seen pics of the CCV's intake and on the inside there's just a pair of bumps, about the size of the [standard] RWR antennae on the nose, to cover the actuators. So I assumed moving them up 45 degrees wouldn't be unfeasible.
  19. Well, the Rafale wing is about twice as thick as the F-16s...it involved styrene and lots of putty, and there's a step on the underside. But not really that hard. Was going to initially use Gripen wings and keep the elevons, but I think the Gripen actually has less wing area than the F-16, so I tried Rafale wings, and where they looked best was with a canard-foreplane config.
  20. Finished this a few weeks ago but every time it occoured to me to post it the damn camera was out of juice again! So here it is. Started life as the AFV Club F-16A Blk-20 RoCAF kit, but the resin and decals were tossed in spare parts and my 'old rejects' box full of cut-up plane fuselages came out. I was inspired by one particular model in the galleries (don't know how to link to specific pages, the url is the same for individual entries as the index) No backstory in particular, except that Rafale Wings would increase payload and maneuverability. (bigger and thicker...Wakko, shut up!) Carr

  23. Simple: The shape is incorrect. To achieve a true bubble shape for the canopy, a manufacturer must make the mold in three parts, two exterior/top pieces and one bottom/interior part. The two top pieces are split lengthwise so they can separate sideways, releasing the part and resulting in the seam line. Academy however, molds it without the bubble cross section so it only needs two mold parts, upper and lower. MoFo has a very good illustration of it. I'm too lazy to make it myself and upload to photobucket.
