It's been a long time since I've posted here, but as a favor to a friend in returning a favor to a friend of his.....kinda of a round robin story....anyway. Some awfully kind folks made this build possible. Many thanks go out to Saul Garcia, and his buddy here, for providing me with the marking sheet, that I used to complete this model. This is an old Monogram tool, that's really showing it's age. I have a coworker that's crazy about A-10s and as a favor I told him I'd build one for him. All he ask for was a sharksmouth on the nose and as much ordinance as I could hang on the wings. Then he as

I haven't posted here for quite a while. Life, work, and an older house that I'm slowly renovating take up a big chunk of my time. But I have been able to throw a little something together in the past couple of months. So here's my rendition of Helmut Wick's Bf 109. I'm pretty pleased with the outcome! Feel free to comment both the good and the bad...... Thanks for looking, Greg

I'm in need of a specific sheet for a Crusader build I'm doing. Aeromaster # 48 564 Fighting Shamrocks. Any one have any clues as to where I might get this sheet? I'm willing to part with cash if some one here would like to sell theirs. TIA....

Hello Matt, For the rigging I used the high E string from a guitar, some invisible nylon thread colored with a Magic Marker some stretched sprue and a hair from my own head. I'll use about anything if it looks right to me. Thanks for looking and posting.

Ok I can set this right. I live in Bristol, and they flew right over my house as they approach and depart the track. The local newspaper ran an article on them in Sunday's paper. Here's a link to the article. http://www2.tricities.com/sports/2010/aug/21/ha-ar-465828/ The AV8-Bs were stationed at MCAS Cherry Point, NC. And are gray over gray. HTH....... Greg

Thanks EZ! Oh man definatly pick it up. It's a great little model, but get some AM decals. The Hobbycraft decals are a misery to work with. Starfighter Decals has a couple of sheets for this one, about $12 IIRC. Good luck with it, and post up your buils. I'd love to see how yours' turns out. Greg

Hi Ikar, Oh yeah you betcha! All kinds of fun there. They didn't want to lay down or stay where I put them. Some were too big, some too little. So I got them as close as I could, repeatedly soaked them with solvent and crossed my fingers. There are a few that wrinkled, so I buffed them down with a polishing stick and touched up with paint. I think I spent at least 2 hours a night over 8 nights getting them on!

Thank you! I wasn't serious about giving up.... just had myself an 8 month building slump and this was the first kit off the bench since December. I've got a couple more on deck that I'd like to be able to finish before this December. It seems like I'm outta da slump!

Just finished. I thought I'd throw it out here and see what you think. Do I keep at it, or hang up my Exacto and take up knitting? Any thoughts or comments welcome. Thanks for looking. Greg

I'm pretty sure it is. I think only the decals are changed. Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone? It really is a fabulously detailed kit, but it needs a little TLC. So don't lament your purchase. You'll enjoy building it!!
