  1. I was disappointed to find their P39 Airacobra 1/32 scale plans fuselage was short like that of the Special Hobby P39 and Kitty Hawk kits. I've purchased several of their plans booklets and hope they are more accurate.
  2. Anyone know when the new Fly 1/32 scale Hawker Hurricane Mk II kit will be available?
  3. I'd like to purchase or trade for a Hasegawa 1/32cale sabre kit. Please email me your price and condition of the kit. If you want to trade send me a list of what you want in 1/24, 1/32 and 1/48 scale kits as well as resin sets and decals in order of preference. I have a number of kits left from my former store and many are out of production. My email is jfreaganjr@gmail.com Jim Reagan
  4. I'm looking forward to receiving the kit to compare it to my Special Hobby version. I may combine both kits to make a P400. I have a special interest in 1920 t0 1940 as well as early WW2 aircraft. I'd also like to build a Thompson Trophy racer Check Squadron as they appear to be offering special sales. Anyone want to comment on kit accuracy as well as suggest accurate drawings/ Mushroom Models has 1/32 scale drawings available.
  5. From what I've read Trumpeters 1/32 scale JU 87B2 kit is closer to a JU 87B1 Stuka. I want to build a Battle of Britain version. I'm trying to relocate a picture of the Trumpeter kits cowling shown on top of 1/32 scale JU 87B1 drawings. Anyone know where the picture is located? Anyone here convert the Trumpeter kit to the B1 version? Anyone use the Revell cowling to make a more accurate B2 version? I have a spare Revell kit I can use. I'll be using the spats from the Revell kit.
  6. I know that the Hasegawa Revell and Hobby Boss 1/32 scale kits all have accuracy issues. There are now a number of aftermarket products to aid in construction. I have an older Hasegawa/Revell kit with the new Mk 1 wing and the new Revell MK II kit. Which approach would or have you taken in building your BOB version. I've read the Hasegawa fuselage has "shape issues" whatever they are plus the need to scrib panel lines. One could consider mating the Hobby Boss fuselage to the Revell wing but I've read the rear fuselage cross section is too wide. Since I was born during the BOB I can't wait
  7. I have both Aerotech 1/32 Macchi M 39 & M 52 kits. Can anyone tell me the color of their cockpit interiors as well as the best red paint for their exterior. I've read from light grey to Ford Bermuda blue for the interior and Italian Red for the exterior. Anyone want to suggest their build experience or suggest a good internet source for information.
  8. Gentlemen Sorry I did not notice the word CATALINA did not print on Topic Title. I've just begun posting here so it was my oversight. I look forward to ten suggestions from you "poniterouters". What a beautiful kit. The surface detail is beautiful. I had to decide between the HK B-17 and the Catalina
  9. I have the HPH 1/32 Catalina kit and am looking for a book or books that will assist me in building an accurate replica. Your suggestions will be appreciated. Jim Reagan
  10. Jim you appear to be quite price conscious. when you obtain the Mosquito post your information about obtaining the kit. Mine arrived from MMD Squadron on the 31st. I don't plan to sell any as I would have to set a price that would not make it worth the effort. About the only future purchase I plan is the Silver Wings PZL 11 for myself. I just plan to sell the remainder of my store inventory. The foreign internet dealers must be really putting the nails in the local hobby shop coffins. Pretty soon there won't be a place to purchase hobby paints locally.
  11. Some of you gentlemen were really hard on each other concerning the various comments about the nationals. I don't know if Mike posts here but he is very active on Hyperscale and has a significant following. He was suggesting a bar break one evening at the hotel. I wish I could have been there to see Mike and some of his friends. Unfortunately low back issues and possible surgery prevented me attending. The drive might have been excessive. Check Mike's site out as he has a number of unique offerings. Google Lone Star Models. I believe someone on "Large Scale Planes" recently commented
  12. STEVE Wow that cheaper than my wholesale price since I will have to cover shipping.
  13. Check Dave's site out he offer some sweet deals including the Catalina at around $700.00 . The surface detail on the kit, which you first see,is unbelievable. I was debating a HK B-17 G kit. If I would decide to add additional detail to the B-17 kit it can start to approach the Catalina in cost. I'd love to have the Wing Nuts "Felixstow" if I could fine the display room. I think I'll sell some duplicate 1/32 scale kits in my stash and go from there. It would be neat to display a flying boat from WW1 & WW2. Jim Reagan

  15. Last night I placed an order for one kit. My wholesale price was about the same as internet retail. Hobby Link Japan last night listed their availabity as September 2015 so I guess the story of later availability in Japan is true.
  16. I have the 1/32 resin kit of the Hawker Tempest. The fuselage casting is quite thin and I'm uncertain if it will support the kits heavy thick wings. What can I add to strengthen the fuselage? I've been looking at "microballs" or an interior coating of a suitable agent for this purpose. Suggestions will be appreciated. Perhapse microballs could be added to a two part mix which could be layered on the inside of the resin casting. Where is a good source for purchasing the above type product in bulk form and what is its marketing name/ Thanks for any suggestions Jim Reagan
  17. What's the best white paint to finish the 1/32 scale Tamiya F-16 Thunderbird kit? Enamels can yellow so that kind of leaves acrylic or lacquer. Gunze has several whites I can spray and Tamiya also offers some options. I've searched several builds and did not see information on the paint used. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is there a build review available with painting suggestions that I missed? Jim Reagan
  18. I offered an Iwata 975 air compressor for $400 plus shipping and saw no interest. At what price would I have to offer it here to spark a purchasing decision? Email me directly if interested at jfreaganjr@gmail.com
  19. I'm selling a brand new sealed Grex Genesis XA single action airbrush plus an extra .3mm needle/nozzel set for $110.00. I recently had carpal tunnel surgery and feel the airbrush might be difficult to hold compared to my Iwata Revolution SAR airbrush. If you are interested email me directly at jfreaganjr@gmail.com. I accept Pay Pal and will ship upon receipt of payment. I will consider international shipping. Jim Reagan
  20. Jennings I have to watch weight issues due to recent back surgery Jim Reagan
  21. I was going through some older resin detail sets and came upon a True Detail cockpit set for the 1/32 Revell and Trumpeter kits. The kit is very nice. I believe its available through Squadron for about $17 I have a 21st Century Corsair kit and may adapt it to fit. Its worth a look. I've seen some nice examples of the built 21st Century Corsair kit. The above might be a good starter for a newer modeler to build befor plunging into the fantastic Tamiya KIT. Jim Reagan
  22. Which Iwata compressor would you prefer for man cave modeling. The power Jet IS-900 is for a single airbrush hook up the Power Jet Pro IS-975 is set up for two airbrushes. The IS-900 has a larger air storage tank. Both cost about the same. The IS-975 has about $100 of additional accessories in the box like two quick release cobra hoses as well as an Iwata airbrush holder included. Anyone want to comment from personal experience with either unit? Jim Reagan
  23. This single action airbrush considered by many as the best available has never been used. My asking price is $50 plus $7 postage. I accept Pay Pal. Email me at jfreaganjr@gmail.com if interested. Jim Reagan
  24. Advertisement says July 2014 release. Anybody have more specific detail of release date in Japan? Since it's the only thing I've ordered recently I'm anxious to receive the kit.
