  1. PM inbound for the A-6 and the F-14....
  2. This is all I was able to find. http://uscockpits.com/Jet%20Fighters/Jet%20Fighters.html#F9 I have the FAOW book on the Panther/Couger, but it doesnt show much of anything. If you can find the Ginter Naval Fighter series book, you might be better off.
  3. You want to know how bad I got it??? Someone here, from the UK was selling off his stash because he was moving. So to help the guy out, I bought the Fujimi A, and a Tamiya F4D. $65 for the kits and shipping, to help a fellow modeler out...
  4. Technically, the inside of a Super's intake trunk is considered "classified". I wont go into the reason of what or why. I dont know if someone could be prosecuted for it or not, but it wouldnt surprise me. But as such, I wouldnt brag about sneaking in a picture after you were denied permission. Take it for what its worth. Generally, F-18s that go to shows at bases or locations that typically dont host Hornets, dont carry their red gear (covers) because unless they have a travel pod, there is no place to store the gear on the flight.
  5. Unfortunately, it isnt anything nearly as dramatic as that. 125 trains both Navy and Marine personel for working on Legacy Hornets. As a form of "kudos" to the Marines, the squadron painted a jet up especially for them, to recognize their accomplishments. Normally, 125s jets say "NAVY" on one side, and "MARINES" on the other. This one says MARINES on both sides. I spoke to the guys who painted it and why, the day I shot the pics of it, which was the day it came out of the paint shop, back in mid-August.
  6. I work on the flightline at NAS Lemoore.
  7. Something else to consider about your post, concerning the RBF tags... If you do a jet sitting on the tarmac at a base, the FOD covers (red gear, we call it) come off at the beginning of the day (for the flight scedule) and go back on at the end of the day. (unless a jet is hard down, then the red gear usually stays on) When the red gear goes on, the jets are usually chained down as well, standard protocall out here in the west is 3 chains. As for your RBF tags, there arent that many on an unarmed jet. There are 3, 1 for each landing gear, and 1 in each wingfold. Then there are something lik
  8. Thanks for the reply's guys!
  9. Does anyone know if this is still in production? If it is, is this a new tool, or is it a repop of the original Revell F? If possible, I would like to order a clear sprue for a vintage rebuild project. Thanks!
  10. These pictures are posted for Dave Tellers. It is his build, and as I gather, it is the Italeri kit. Maybe he will chime in and give some info. Enjoy!
  11. I dont usually "do" east coast squadrons. However, for these, and VFA-34, I will make an exception.
  12. Thank you for that! I never even thought to check their website. For some reason I thought the tail codes were on the inside of the rudders. Either way, they are now back in CAG 11 and heading for cruise soon. (which means VFA-81 will not be returning to Nimitz this year)
  13. Those markings are already obsolete. 97 came home, and removed the Japaneese flag, and put an American flag on it now. (it was always an American flag on the port side) They also have removed the "WARHAWKS" from the turtle back, and put up the CAG 11 star and dice, and now have NH tail codes on the inside of the rudders. Also too, all of the drop tanks now have little "mini tridents" on each side of the tank, towards the nose.
  14. Very nice indeed! You have too much time on your hands, you need a hobby...
  15. You might want to edit your quote so his email address isnt there either?
  16. http://www.cobracompany.com/48012.htm You would have to sand off the bumps and mod the RAT a but, but until something better comes along, this is about it.
  17. And the first one to be fired would be the shooter.....
  18. I think I have the spare VA-22 decals from the Hasegawa F if you would like them...
  19. Off hand, I dont remember why they went to the new nose on thr ARS. Something about ease of maintenance and service life... As for an aftermarket one, Cobra Company makes one,but I think it is a copy of the pod from the AMT kit.
  20. All Super Hornets are able to carry the ARS for fuel. Most times, a squadron will have a tanker set up for their own squadron mates, however, anyone needing a tanker can get fuel. Some CAGs may designate a particular squadron to have tankers, as Legacy Hornets cannot be tankers, so they would need to plug in somewhere. As do the Prowlers.
  21. Ah, thank you. I was looking for that link!
  22. Hi all, I think I am going to finally build my Fujimi Val. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction I need. I am looking for the interior color of the cockpit, and what shade of gray they used on the outside. (I am shooting for the Pearl Harbor time frame) Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
