  1. Yes, Behold then vomit. at least the paint scheme. but I have not seen the actual decals anywhere
  2. Really? I mean really? are you really gonna do this? torture us one page at a time? You are a cruel, cruel man Jake. Lol! Say, btw, is it possible you could address the specific wing twist on the hornet? I have many hornet books but none that mention the twist numbers. From the side view, you can see the sidewinder and even the wing tanks are mounted at a negative angle that the models dont quite get.
  3. Those are very nice pictures indeed Erik. do you have any good pictures of the cockpit?
  4. I agree, but there is a difference between offering suggestions on future projects, and blasting a company for an existing project, simply because it isnt your cup of tea. btw congrats on your "Glue required" promotion! LOL!
  5. Great points Erik! Kitty Hawk cant seem to win. announce a new kit and all the whinybabies line up to complain that it wasn't the jet that they wanted. I prefer to just vote with my dollars. Everyone rejoiced for the f-94c, I had no interest in it. but I did buy both f-35 jets even after the whinybabies threw a tantrum, because they didn't like the f-35, and I'm ordering the jaguar now. I think KH is doing an awesome job, although I prefer 32 scale jets, I will continue to support this young and exciting company, even when they make subjects occasionally that aren't on my list.
  6. Is this book back at the top of the list?
  7. Awesome pics guys! Is the P42 the production standard su-27 that was then stripped and prepped for the record attempts? in other words, would the rivets/ panels and fasteners shown be a great source for detailing an operational flanker if one so desired? (wings and fuselage)
  8. Hey Ken, I remember your scratch pak. it was awesome. considering how early you started on it and how few pics were out at the time.
  9. Thanks Andre As I recall, the Zkit got picked apart trumpeter style, in terms of shape. I wish I knew it was a repop before I ordered one from lucky models.

  11. Thanx for setting me straight, I suppose it does look way too big to be a wingtip pod. actually looks like a nuclear sub :P
  12. If I am viewing this picture correctly, it indicates that the sorbits pod can be carried on a centerline pylon, as well as the wingtip station. Am I mistaken? http://www.airliners.net/photo/Russia---Air/Sukhoi-Su-34-%28Su-32FN%29/1621091 /L/&sid=486c5904845831ae332d41865cc3246d http://www.airliners.net/photo/Russia---Air/Sukhoi-Su-34-%28Su-32FN%29/1590575/L/&sid=486c5904845831ae332d41865cc3246d
  13. I have taken a buttload of landing gear pics for detailing purposes. If you don't think you have enough ref Let me know and Ill send some of mine.
  14. Is there a definite time frame for a book on the legacy hornets? How difficult would it be do do a book on the tomcat now that it is retired?
  15. It is great having such smart guys to check facts with, but sometimes I walk away more confused than before. What I am understanding now is that PVO was disbanded and missions and assets went to VVS which is now just called RUAF? this is correct?
  16. What is the difference between the PVO and the VVS in Russia?
  17. Much appreciation for the tips guys! Gedub, After viewing your mudhen, I know you have a great eye for detail. I currently have the tamiya cat, I just wanted to se how it stacked up against the trumpeter. the only thing that bothered me about the tamiya is the slight slab sidedness of the forward fuselage. Im thinking that area cross section should be a little more bell shaped.
  18. Awesome video!!! at 2:19 in the vid while doing flight control checks, you can see that the inboard flaps extend up past neutral. I was surprised to see that. learn something new everyday.
  19. Im sure this question has probably been asked before but I could not find any reference to It when I searched so forgive me for asking again. How do these kits stack up against each other? I know one is an Alpha model and the other is a delta model, with intake issues but beyond that, are there other shape and accuracy Issues that would put one over the other?
  20. Can anyone confirm that they did in fact re issue this model? are there any differences from the initial issue? I bought the 72 scale version but never pulled it out of my stash, having bought it only because the 48 scale version was not available.
  21. Yes It was kind of confusing for me as well. I had just checked the prices of the frogfoots flankers and the tomcat from trumpeter right before the sale started and then again after the sale began and didnt see a price diff. perhaps I will send an inquiry, s earlier suggested.
  22. Looking at the list, I could not ascertain if 32 scale aircraft were included in the sale. Anyone else know? It sure might be a great opportunity to spring for one of those recent trumpeter kits that are so pricey. http://www.luckymodel.com/doc/NL120530-0555/newsletter.html
  23. I know for sure that the MB4 was being used at Kadena ab on recce phantoms and eagles up until around 1984 time frame at which point they were being phased out and replaced with the current model. Most of the crew chiefs preferred the old MB4 because the cross crab steering was much better, but the replacement could pull a house.
  24. Hey Ken, Thank you so much. this stuff is gold! with all the flanker reference I have, nothing like this exist anywhere I have seen. The gear lockdown mechanism shot for example is the first time I have seen it up close with such detail. I totally understand wanting to protect your media, but anything else you choose to post would be highly appreciated.
