  1. Thanks for the correction. I’m planning on building a 1/48 Raptor in this configuration and did buy a set of the LAU-128s after noticing the difference between the Navy/USAF ones.
  2. Awesome build you’ve done of the Blue Angel. I checked in the Hobby Boss kit, I have both the F and G. The EA-18G has Sprue H from the F kit which contains the pre ACS shroud and panel which will be spare so I have options with either Hasegawa or HB parts.
  3. Thanks for the pointer, looks like the Hasegawa parts were made for the Meng kit. Thanks for the help. 👍
  4. Well that’s handy because I’ve got quite a few Hasegawa EA-18Gs and they include the original Sprue F from the -18F kit and only the G uses the new panel and shroud. So I’ve got plenty of spares. I’ll do a dry fit and see how it looks.
  5. Hi all. I have a couple of Meng 1/48 F/A-18F super hornets and was thinking of doing an early EMD Block 1 jet but then as I was browsing through the instructions I stumbled upon a problem. Whilst it was nice of Meng to give use the option of early segmented ECS vents as well as the updated Bard stacks, there’s no option to backdate the cockpit as only the updated ACS instrument panel and shroud are provided. As far as I can tell, the bard stacks came before the ACS cockpit. Anyone else noticed this and any options of backdating the cockpit??
  6. It’s the adapter between the LAU-127s that’s the difficult one to confirm. There doesn’t seem to be anything common in the USAF inventory that is recognisable.
  7. I just came across a 2014 article showing testing of AIM-120 missiles on outboard wing pylons on the F-22 Raptor: https://www.ausairpower.net/raptor.html I know the F-22 can now be fitted with fuel tanks on the inboard wing pylons but I’d like to know if someone can identify the actual layout of the pylon setup in this photo from the article: Would it be safe to assume that they are the standard inboard tank pylons on the outboard store’s location with an additional same pylon with LAU-127 rails? Grateful for any input.
  8. Anyone got this sheet to sell or trade?: https://twobobs.net/contents/en-us/p714_32-069-F-16C-Arctic-Splinters-Part-II.html
  9. If anyone has the decal sheet going spare from the Airfix 1/48 Gloster Meteor F.8 kit I'd be very grateful to take it off your hands! Send me a PM if you're able to help. I've asked Airfix directly for a replacement sheet but they claim the kit is out of production and therefore they can't supply a sheet. Either the RAF kit: Or the RAAF Korea kit:
  10. Ok so this is a really long shot in the hope that someone may have gone down a different path using the HK Models 1/32 B-17 and not used the following parts. I'm after parts M11 and M12 which are the mount supports for the ball turret: Plus any additional radio epuipment ie M19, M20 and K-20:
  11. Can anyone help with obtaining a Wolfpack or Steel Beach 1/48 Flaps down set for the Revell Super Hornet? Happy to negotiate price or swap for something.
  12. Hi All I'm after sprue G from the new tool Airfix 1/72 Lancaster B.III Dambuster kit. This sprue contains the bombay parts for carrying the bouncing bomb. If anyone has this sprue in their spares box, I'd be grateful if you're willing to part with it.
  13. Ah sorry I hadn’t updated this post. Sorted the issue by a combination of Eduard PE and Quinta Studios 3D Decals.
  14. Does anyone have the backseat instrument panel from the Trumpeter 1/32 F-14B Tomcat which is part M2 and am also after the LANTIRN controller part S6? Of course if anyone has gone all out and used a resin cockpit, i'd gladly take as many spare cockpit parts as possible including seats.
  15. Apart from knowing an F-16C from an F-16D, E, F, I,X that's about where my F-16 knowledge stops as far as knowing the differences between the different blocks. I have the Tamiya 1/32 F-16CJ Block 50 kit but I'm not a fan of plain grey schemes so I quite like some of the arctic schemes which seems to be mostly Block 30s. What are the major differences between a Block 30 and a Block 50 and what would I need to do if anything to the Tamiya kit?
  16. Apologies if this has been discussed elsewhere or even here, only just stumbled across this post. I've read a lot of comments and review about the spine of the Revell 1/32 F/A-18E and subsequent F model being too flat or the outer shoulders being too sharp. I've been looking at a number of builds and review of this kit and to be honest it's very difficult to determine if it is actually right or wrong. There's never going to be a perfect kit however comparing images of the kit and this photo, I find it very hard to see if the kit is actually wrong....
  17. Anyone know why Eduard discontinued their line of FABRIC Remove Before Flight tags? https://www.eduard.com/Eduard/Remove-Before-Flight-FABRIC-1-48.html?cur=2&listtype=search&searchparam=Remove Before Flight I've had horrible experience with the Steel ones and the first time I tried the FABRIC ones on an F/A-18F, I thought they'd nailed the look of an RBF tag.
  18. Am after the decal sheet from the Revell 1/32 F/A-18E, more specifically all the decals for the VX-9 Vampires scheme. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/1/6/1/975161-71-instructions.pdf Would be grateful for any help.
  19. Looking for these two 1/32 F-14 decal sheets: https://www.scalemates.com/kits/cam-32-112-f-14d-tomcat--931033 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/superscale-international-32-116-f-14-tomcat--1241256 Am also after the VX-9 Vampires decal sheet from the Revell 1/32 F/A-18E if anyone is willing to part with it: https://www.britmodeller.com/reviews/revell/32/04994f18e/f18m.JPG
  20. I'm also looking for these two 1/32 F-14 sheets if you have them? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/cam-32-112-f-14d-tomcat--931033 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/superscale-international-32-116-f-14-tomcat--1241256
  21. I checked out as many Microscale sheets and there's nothing. There is one sheet that has a similar tail band but it's way off for what I'm after for a VX-4 jet. I have just checked my stash of decals and I have the Fightertown Decals Combined test squadrons sheet which has a VX-4 Phantom on there with the black and white XF codes and at least half of the stars and bars so I will order a second sheet to make up the difference. Although sized for a 1/48 Phantom, the stars and bars can be adjusted to fit a 1/48 tomcat even if I have to mask and spray the blue and red bands first. I can scroun
  22. Anyone know where I might get a decal sheet in 1/48 or 1/72 of VX-4 Evaluator F-14A Tomcats in the original white and gull grey retro scheme with the white and black tail and nose codes? There's plenty of sheets with the black bunny and overall gull grey markings out there, i've looked so please don't suggest any of these. I'm only interested in the classic retro scheme markings if there are any out there.
  23. Wouldn’t necessarily need to add Quikboost ESC if you use the EA-18G Growler kit which already has the ECS Bard stacks molded on. Although the Quickboost sets are nicer. I used them a few year ago on the Revell Super Hornet. Although the Block II jets had them from new, many if not all of the Block I jets had the retro fitted to help reduce the heat signature and solve many of the heat damage issues.
