  1. Yes, It's rather in-depth, I've tried to share as much build info as possible, and the model was a huge learning curve for me, but I guarantee you will be able to spray a NMF nicely while being made aware of the pitfalls. Hopefully I made the mistakes so others won't have too, it's all there warts and all.
  2. Again, thanks for the nice comments. I havn't visited for some months due to some log in problems but I've sorted that now. The articles appeared in the April and May editions of MIS (Military in Scale).
  3. I think it is the next issue, but I've literally just sent the finished article off, so it may end up in the one after that. Cheers everyone for your nice comments.
  4. I've posted here from time to time, but I'm UK based and tend to hang out on Britmodeller. I've just finished this gem of a kit. I have written a comprehensive build article which will be appearing in Military in Scale, a good UK based mag if anyone is interested. I have weathered it heavily, basing the build on its time in Belgium during the Battle of the Bulge were it was flown from a forward operating base in awful conditions providing round the clock cover for the US forces involved in the desperate fight to halt the German advance. Anyway, cheers all.
  5. Awesome job mate, and great scribing! Incidentally, my bro flew alongside Prowlers during Op Northern Watch and is slightly Prowler mad as they sheparded him to the Iraqi boarder and beyond. I'll be sending him a link to this, plus he's a modeller too now !
  6. As above title, but if you are not willing to sell then a photocopy of the parts would be a real help, would be willing to provide an incentive for that too-please anybody, I'm desperate!!! I'm in the UK btw. Please PM me if interested (I'm well known on Britmodeller). I also have something else substantial to sweeten the deal and still allow you to build a Helldiver with folded wings, but far more easily, details on request... Thanks.
  7. Hi, Wondering if anyone can help. I'm looking for the above set to buy/borrow (I'm in the UK though), or even obtain a photocopy of the PE fret, instructions and the resin. I've got the Accurate Miniatures kit, and desperately want to build it with folded wings, so if I can obtain a set then great, but I am prepared to scratchbuild it based on the KMC set, as very detailed close up reference photos are hard to come by especially for the complex wing pivot areas. I can't find any sets for sale, but if anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be grateful. Many thanks Nick
  8. Finished this recently, Tamiya 1/72 "8th AirForce Aces" Mustang. Lovely model, outstanding decals. Finished with Humbrol Hu11 silver. A quick no frills build. Cheers all.
  9. That's a bit good! Lovely, seems bigger than 1/72.
  10. I live just north of London, and it's a pretty cool city, but then I havn't got that much to compare it too, can be a bit tourist trappy like all places. For non airplane/modern military etc, you really should visit the British Museum, it has an incredible variety of amazing artifacts that span our global history. You could easily spend a week going through it and still be surprised. I'd recommend getting there around 9.30-10, and wandering round till you are too tired to continue. Natural History museum is cool too, but don't go out of your way to visit it. Hendon is a must, worlds only survi
  11. Beautiful, superbly weathered. Love to do one myself but may have to wait till the kids move out so I can nick their room to show it off! (That's 15 years or so...)
  12. You may consider this thread closed, I've bought the Koster set! Many thanks for your advice and experience, now just have to find a lib... Seriously though, the Privateer is my absolute favourite, awesome airplane, and I'm looking forward to putting all my skills into making something special (for me anyway!).
  13. Hi Dave, you may be right. I will go down that path if I have too, Vac forms don't scare me but having read as many reviews about both as I can find, and bearing in mind I'm not getting any younger (!) I would like to try and obtain the "easier" build if I can. The reviews of the CE kit are very favourable, may be as rare as hens teeth though.
