  1. Hi Gianni, This is the DVD, it has a ton of footage on it. V/r Ron
  2. Do you have a great F-4 Phantom tale to tell, some interesting facts, or some of that down right gee wiz info? We want to hear it!
  3. This is a quick stop place to find or offer those Phantom spare parts.
  4. This area is for posting your finished build pics in.
  5. Well, well, well! B) Was wondering when you were going to start showing some of your detailing skills in this build. Knowing that you have OCD for detail, I know a lot of modelers will be following your thread, so keep 'em coming! V/r Ron
  6. Next up, had to fit the Rhino Resin seamless intakes. My legs were shaking like a newborn fawn when I first put the fuselage under the knife, but as I went along, it really got easy. The Dremel tool has been very handy so far with this build, just run the grinding drum on the lowest speed and you should only grind not melt the plastic. And the final stage for the evenings work...
  7. Since I'm not in the mood to pick back up on the cockpit I started last year, I decided to complete some of the simpler more mundane tasks like the wing and Rhino intake set mods. First up, the wing. Had to remove all those F-4G unauthorized items that Hasegawa likes to give you. The following sequence illustrates the process for that... That pretty much sums that up for now.
  8. Smokin right along! Wish I had your building stamina!
  9. Give it a try now, I may have copied the wrong extension on the original link. V/r Ron
  10. Working on it, may be prior to the big ARC blackout and no longer working. V/r Ron
  11. This is a link to Jay Chladeks fantastic Phantom variant guide. http://s362974870.onlinehome.us/forums/air/index.php?act=Print&client=printer&f=3&t=148643 V/r Ron
  12. Please discuss or link Phantom details here. V/r Ron
  13. First up! We have a $50 Sprue Brothers Gift Certificate to raffle off for those who had finished their Phantom cockpit or stores being used on your PAA build prior to the Group Build kicking off. Please post your finished items with a link to your build thread that predates 1 Mar 2013. Entries will be accepted up to midnight PST on 6 Mar 2013. V/r Ron
  14. OK everyone, any time there will be a raffle, the details and results will be posted here. Keep and eye on this thread for occasional updates. V/r Ron
  15. I have that Phantom clip in an Air War Over Vietnam DVD that I bought for $3, has hours of great footage well worth the money. V/r Ron
  16. Done a bunch of work last night on the wing and fuselage, will post pics later.
  17. Wow Gianni, you came out swinging! Nobody can say you aren't prepared, you must have every F-4 reference book on the market. Your doing things on a 1/72 scale kit that make me nervous attempting on a 1/48 scale aircraft. V/r Ron
  18. I use this all the time, thin it about 2 parts Tamiya lacquer thinner to 1 part primer for spraying with airbrush. I wait until the solvent smell on the model goes away before sanding or painting anything on it. I haven't had any problems with it sanding to a very smooth surface for final topcoating. If you don't thin it enough, it will spider web on you. You can clean up any spraying imperfections (like the spider webbing)by lightly spraying lacquer thinner over the flawed area and it should smooth out. Final sand with 800 to 1000 grit sandpaper and it will be very smooth. V/r Ron
  19. Excellent work Jake! The scratch built components look great! V/r Ron
  20. Nobody has earned the right more than you Robert! Guess it will be payback for all the R/C abuse I gave you back in the day...lol
  21. My first choice for this build is the Hasegawa 1/48 F-4G, have never built the G variant, it's like something old and something new in the same kit. The markings will be from the Afterburner Decals 3rd TFW sheet on SEA skin, a little help from the BigEd PE set will also be used. Afterburners are from Aires, and may use the Rhino Resins Seamless Intakes. Bang seats will be from the Brassin set.
  22. I would give my left afterburner to have a nice clean building space like that!
  23. Welcome everyone to the Phantom Addicts Anonymous Group Build. Now that Ro-Gar Hobbies has posted the ROE for this group build, I would like to remind everyone that there will be all kinds of modelers from all walks of life sharing in the love of the Phantom here. Some of you are phenomenal modelers and some of us...well, are aspiring to be some day, please be respectful and supportive of everyones efforts. For the next six months, this Group Build should be a shrine of honor for a phantastic aircraft that has served to protect many of our ways of life (as well as possibly threatened some) dur
  24. That's a sexy Phantom Neo, love the angle, shows off that long snoot!
