  1. Wow! looks really good! I hope mine gets half as good as yours... Two questions regarding your TPS, which realy looks fantastic: Do you do any preshading, or is it just the fading you described in the pinned thread? Do you give the bottom of the jet any shading/weathering treatment? On your pics it looks very clean. Markus
  2. Absolutely stunning! :D I think I will borrow some ideas for my F-16 build But I fear it will not even get close to yours... Markus
  3. @JMan: Thanks for the praise of the burner cans. I just airbrushed them with a few coatsof Alclad II (I even forgot the primer. So I'm glad, that it went well) Then added the decals and sealed them with Gunze Clear. I'm not realy satisfied with the inside, but it is ok for my fisrt try... Markus
  4. Here are some pictures of the shoulder pylons: I glued the front fuselage to the main fuselage. It slowly starts to look like a tomcat. I glued sprues on the inside of the joint to strengthen it, since the front fuselage got a little heavy. (It sure won't sit on its tail...) The outside of the joint fits rather good, there will be very little filling and sanding necessary. :( Also attached the burners Greetings, Markus
  5. Wow! Looking good. I hope mine gets as good as yours. Markus
  6. I did the Sparrowhawk HUD. Frame is from the Avionix/BB set, glass is made from 0.3mm acetate film. I'm waiting for the arrival of my scribing tools to continue with the fuselage. Markus
  7. Some progress... Sprayed the nozzles with pale burnt metal. They look much better now. I still have to apply the decals for the darker aprt of the petals. I also finished the landing gears. I added some wires from stranded wire and gave it a wash. Befor the wash, just white paint: after the wash and decals: I also made the shoulder pxlons and the lantirn pod, but haven't taken any pictures yet. Markus
  8. They are on the Fightertown F-14 data sheet. the only problem is that they are straight, but the surface is slightly conical. But with Micro Sol it works just fine. Markus
  9. Some new picturs... I added Verlinden seats and Fightertown decals to the cockpit. The plate at the RIO's step is made from normal household adhesive tape. I didn't like the look of the painted nose landing gear strut, so I took an old small screwdriver, which had exactly the same diameter, and cut a pice from it for the landing gear. I will glue it together when it is painted white. I also worked on the exhausts. For the engine shrouds I mixed a little gun metal in the flat black, to simulate the carbon fibre. It now has a slight metallic look to it, which I find ok. For the nozz
  10. Hi! Send me a PM with your e-mail. Markus
  11. Hi! The instructions are only two pages. What do you need? Greetings Markus
  12. Hi! The deluxe set comes with F-14B cockpit (incl. Sparrowhawk HUD), bomb racks, chinpods for B and D, BOL rails, LANTIRN pod and pylon, GPS and TACAN antennas and 4 Mk-83 bombs. Greetings Markus
  13. Hi! Very nice build! I'm also building a Jolly Rogers last cruise F-14B in 1/48, but I make the CO's aircraft. (Victory 103) Also a Hasegawa with Black Box Bombcat cockpit and conversion. But I think I'm a little bit slower than you... Did your Skyrider GBU-12 arrive yet? I ordered them from Amraam Line. They have no decals, but are a lot cheaper ($6 for two pieces) Markus
  14. Hi! After working on the intakes for a few days (filling, sanding, filling again, sanding again, painting.... ) they are finally finished. Inspired by Manuel J. Aramas' build, I detailed the main wheel wells a little bit. Also filled and sanded the engine shrouds smooth. I ordered a Verlinden set of the seats. Markus
  15. Thanks a lot! I aleady knew that link, but somehow I lost it and couldn't find it again. Thank you!
  16. Hi! I'm working on a F-14B from VF-103's Last Cruise, and I recieved the Fightertown decals today. They really look good! Thanks a lot! Now I've got a few questions regarding the color scheme of Victory 103, since the colors on the instructon sheet are hard to distinquish, snd the Hasegawa instructions for the same bird sy something different. Are all three colors of the TPS present? Is it correct that the top is painted in 35237, the forward fuselage in 36320 and the bottom of the rest of the fuselage in 36375? (Hasegawa says just 36320 for the top, 36375 for the rest) And the pylo
  17. Thanks for all the comments. I thougt the intakes should be 36375, but wasn't sure. 'm aware, that the Black Box setas are not the best, I had the Aires in mind, but if you say the Verlindens are better, I will look for them. Altough I'm not sure if I get one seat per set or two. If there is only one seat, then it is rather expensive.... We will see. Here's a pic from the intakes (not finished) and one from the nose wheel well. Greetings Markus
  18. Hi! I'm new to the forum, lurking around for some weeks now. So a short introduction to msyelf. My Name is Markus, I am 32 years old and I live in Austria, Europe. I've been building models since I was 12 years old, but the last 10 years I pursued other hobbies (Guitarbuilding amongst others). Now and then I built a Motorcycle in 1/12. Up until now I only glued the models together, painted it with a brush, applied the decals, and that was it. No filling and sanding, no airbrush, no clearcoats, no washing. Now I have taken up building models once again, now with all the stuff: aftermarket s
  19. Hi! Im currently working on the Avionix/Black Box F-14b Cockpit too. Regarding the Pictures in Divid Aungst's article: Open a new browser window, copy the link of the picture in the adress-bar and change it from file:///C:/My%20Documents/My%20Webs/hyper01/features01/images/F-14_CP1-xx.jpg to http://www.hyperscale.com/features/2001/im...F-14_CP1-xx.jpg (or use this link and replace the xx with the picture number) The larger pictures are there, only the links don't work. I also didn't use a dremel (altough I have one) but a sharp blade. It worked well. Markus
  20. Hi! Im new to the forum, so before I ask the question, a short introduction: My Name is Markus, I'm from Austria. I've been building models for almost 20 years now, but only out of the box, just simple glue together, paint an decals, no more. for the last ten years, i only did a few motorbikes. Now I want to start again, this time with all bells and whistles (Airbrush, preshading, washing, resin parts,...) One of my planed models is the Tamiya f-16 Kit in 1/32. (already on the shelf) The paint instructions are for the 3-tone-paint scheme, but I want to make the 2 tone scheme. My questin
