  1. Brand new painted Norm81A Phantom at Wittmund :coolio:/> This Phantom is one of two retro Phantoms at Wittmund. The other one is 38+10 which is painted in Norm72 standard. Phantom flying at Wittmund will end June 30th 2013. That's why they came up with these retro Phantoms. I think the paintshop at Jever did a really great job! In the evening I was able to take this shot in opposite light which turned out to be quite nice. View into the engine testing facility where a J-79 was tested Kind regards, Daniel
  2. Thank you very much guys! @ HOLMES: sure, feel free to use it! Daniel
  3. The third and last location I was able to visit this year is jever ab. This ist the place where the germanphantoms get destroyed. Look at those sad sad pictures... ... They don't only destroy but also repair our german birds at jever and so i was able to get a shot of F-4F 37+01 that was handed back to fighter wing 71 a few weeks later and is still flying! Rumors say, that the commander of fighter wing 71 has stated: "The first will be the last!" and so we might see this bird in a special "phlyout" scheme one day I hope you like the pictures! If you're interested in more picture
  4. I think it's time for some german phantoms again And where is the best place to find some german phantom action? Of course it is fighter wing 71 "Richhofen" at wittmund air base! I was very lucky to visit the wing in april 2011 and I'd like to show you some of the pictures I was able to take. Let's start with a nightshot of F-4F 38+14 that is used as a gateguard at wittmund. As I really enjoy collecting patches, I was very excited to get a full set of toned down patches Most people call them ugly, but I really like them! Now, back to phantoms: F-4F 38+29 is waiting for its clearen
  5. Thank you guys! @ HOLMES: Found a nice video of the pass:
  6. Here are some of my pictures i was able to take during this years OPEN HOUSE at Spangdahlem AB. Let's start with 91-0352 - 52nd FW CO-Bird - that could be seen in the static display area. 91-0351 made some formation fly-bys with an A-10C from 81st FS. Here it can be seen after landing. 90-0818 was one of the jets used by the Viper demo team for their demonstration. 91-0366 - 480th FS CO-Bird - was used for the flying display of the Viper demo team. Unfortunately we had really bad weather conditions during the whole weekend. Fast jet + fast shutter speed + bad weather = high iso
  7. In June 2010 I had the opportunity to visit the last German Phantom Wing - Jagdgeschwader 71 "Richthofen" at Wittmund Air Base - to take some pictures of the last operations of the good old "rhinos" in the German Air Force. We had perfect weather conditions and it was great fun to take the following pictures. F-4F 37+84 is leaving its HAS early in the morning heading for the last chance: F-4F 37+84 is undergoing some checks at the last chance: 2 Phantoms on their way to the runway in the early morning light: That's what I call a full AB take-off: F-4F 38+48 is keeping it quite lo
  8. Hi geedubelyer, check out this and this and this and this and this walkaround at primeportal.net. Theres are a few very good pictures of the gear areas ( especially in the first and third link ) which might help you! Regards, Kehlschinzki
  9. I also like the F.1 a lot, especially the 2009 "tigerbird" of ALA 14 ( spanish airforce ): Kind Regards, Daniel
  10. Let's have some dutch MLU Vipers in Belgium: Pictures were taken at the 2009 NATO Tigermeet at Kleine Brogel Air Base. The following single-seaters could be seen: J-003, J-062 and J-646. They also brought a twin-seater to Kleine Brogel that day: J-884 ( altough most people wouldn't agree with me, I like the twin-seaters more than the single-seaters :) ) And last but definitely not least: The beautiful dutch demo bird J-015 with "Sheik" wavin from the pit! That's it, hope you like them! Kind Regards, Daniel
  11. A total of six hornets were present at this years NATO Tigermeet spottersday. The 2009 NTM was held at Kleine Brogel Air Base, Belgium, were we had great light conditions! I'd like to start with the "Eidgenossen" of "Fliegerstaffel 11" which came from Dübendorf / Switzerland. They brought one of their twin-seaters - J-5232 - to Kleine Brogel: They also brought 3 single-seaters - J-5010, J-5012 and special painted J-5011 - to the NTM: The other two Hornets came from ALA 15 of the spanish airforce. They brought 15-34 (C-15-64) and 15-11 (C-15-24) to Belgium: Last one: AL

  14. Great build! Here's a picture of "the real thing" I took at Reims ( France ) Airshow in June 2009!
  15. And now 4 pictures of the ( what i believe to be ) worlds first special painted Eurofighter. 30+20 ( = 50 ) was special painted to celebrate the wings 50th anniversary. The pictures were taken during the rollout of 30+20 on June 19th at Laage AB. The Tails are showing General Steinhoff. The Wing was named after him:
