-
Can you send some Ice this way 29 Degrees C ... feels like 40 in this airless office
-
WHAT !!!! this isn't done yet ..... Mate you really need to get motivated. Mine's been done since February. Cheers Andrew MacKay

@Oliver, Ta ... worked surprisingly well @David, OK might not be accurate, but given that I am not opening any doors you cannot see any real detail behind the cockpit.
-
A little more done... With all the talk about painting the green on the upperwindows I had a go with Tamiya clear green thinned with Tamiya Lacquer thinner, works a treat.
-
Oliver, try getting the Future / Green dye liquid hot before dipping the clear parts .... My brother is a Optical tech and this is how they tint glasses, around 70 - 90 degrees c Care required of-cause.

Like Joseph, I'm a fan of lead foil ... well maybe not lead, soft metal any way. I source mine from the seal on good Single Malt Scotch, and use fine copper wire for buckles. This works fine in 1:48 If I have time tonight I'll photograph the process

Given that Helo's require more scratch building for their interiors, then a pinned topic is a very good idea.

Curt or others .. How does the front window in the cockpit open ? I dropped my AC-130 and the overhead console has popped loose, I'm going to have to open a window to repair the damage.
-
Just watch how much windex (ammonia based window cleaner) you use as it is also the solvent for Future :)
-
The belts are scratch built from some fine copper wire and the foil from a bottle of Laphroaig <_< good excuse to buy a nice single Malt
-
Is this a bit better ? I won't be opening any of the doors so all I really need is a hint of some detail in the cabin, I will be filling the shelves with electronic gear and a couple of deflated life rafts to add a little color and interest in the cabin. Should have the half's to geather tomorrow. Andrew

The is the 1:48 scale Hasegawa offering. And NO PE so far it's all just kit parts.
-
Picked this up cheap and though I might as well make it up. Was going to do it straight out of the box but it realy needs a bunch done on the inside of the main cabin. Andrew MacKay

Flash Off Camera is the best bet .. I have a sheet of polystyrene foam setup above the background that I bounce the flash off. Tip the fron end down a little so that it lights the front of the model. Everything is run on manual, flash set to 1:4 power camera at 250th @ 16, never fails :) I'm using high end Canon gear so it's all wireless, with a bit of looking around you should be able to do this with a couple of old flashes and a sync cable.
