  1. Another update... front seats done, not perfect but works for me. Cheers Andrew
  2. The figure is one I picked up off our version of Ebay, no packaging with it so I don't know where it came from.
  3. Had today off with a bad cold... My modeling room is very easy to heat and cutting plastic is good therapy so got a little more done The Kit seats are terrable, and unfortunatly the Resin one's from CMK are realy not much better, I have parts of the RNZAF manual including the seat schematics, so are scratch building the seats. As you can see I have also got the back of the IP finished, made a mistake with the shroud and panel though, I have it sitting vertical where it should be canted backwards. Given that it is well and truly glued I may have to resort to brute force to fix.. and I
  4. Made a start ... I'm not the tidiest of modelers Cheers Andrew
  5. Just started cleaning up the CMK parts and doing some test fitting .... Everything is to small for the ESCI kit.. Thankfully a Italeri 1D came up on Trademe (local version of Ebay) which I bought just to have a spare. Build process pics will start soon. Cheers Andrew
  6. Here's my latest finish .. unfortunately I cannot get the canopy straight it's held there by some very delicate resin and a brass rod. Cheers Andrew M
  7. I ended up painting it with using Humbrol steel then on the fuselage part humbrol chrome with tamiya clear blue, the inside was sprayed with tamiya xf2 then washed with citadel sepia and black washes to suit. Quite difficult to get alclad here in the deep south. HTH Andrew
  8. Not usually a jet builder, but couldn't resist this kit, I've used Neomega's pit, with cutting edge burner cans and wheels. Cheers Andrew Mackay
  9. Here's the majority of the bits that will be part of the build. Eduards old PE set, CMK UH-1D interior, and engine sets, RNZAF decals that I got from Anthony Still some more bit coming from Fireball's magic workshop
  10. Will do Oliver, all the RNZAF huey's are the same so photos of anyone will do, as for the crash only the crew chief survived three others died.
  11. CMK Set's arrived today .... Holy resin batman, how the heck am I going to get all of this into that little plastic shell. I'll shoot some photos tonight if anyone want's to see what you get in the interior set and Engine set, I also have the Fireball modelworks AES PE and resin on the way as well. Cheers Andrew
  12. Had a good look at the kit, it's very very basic basic inside, while I do have the eduard PE, I wonder if the CMK set's would make a difference. Thoughts guys ? If I'm going that far , should really get Joseph's AES set as well... Does anyone do good resin seats ? not the armored ones,
  13. Looks good Anthony, found my one when I was tidying up the office today, must get back to it some day...
  14. Ta bud, interesting that they still have the engine covers in green... Might have to contact 3 sqn and find out what the correct painting scheme is.
  15. I have the Decals and parts I bought off you ... so should be right... just trying to nail down the colour of there choppers
  16. Ta Dan, thought that was the case... just wanted to confirm as you can see that #12 and #11 were a mix of Green and Grey back in 2005. Looks like tamiya dark grey
  17. The next project on my list will be the RNZAF Huey which crashed recently (#06), I have the old ESCI 1:48th kit, Eduards PE and a resin replacement airfilter. My big question is how best to match the colours in Tamiya Acrylics. The shot below is of #12 from 2005, any suggestions guys ? Anthony, given that I got the bits from you .. please chime in. Andrew
  18. Sounds like a great experience Ray, I've flown in and been winched out of or stropped under a couple of the RNZAF hueys when I was in the Cliff Rescue team here in the deep south. Been in a lot of other Helos but flying in a Huey is the best of the lot. It's a shame that we are replacing them with NH90's later this year. Hopefully a couple will be kept in NZ for similar public shows .. Cheers Andrew
  19. Here's my version of Easy Money the rest of the build is here. Easy Money
  20. The fire extinguisher is from my spares box and wasn't included in the original kit
  21. Basicaly parts fit was the biggest issue ... be prepared to use lots of filler. My build photos are here Keaphotos Blue thunder HTH Andrew
  22. Just remember that you will need to completely re polish the canopy. I don't own this kit anymore, gave it away to a 3 year old who was visiting one day, he knew exactly what it was and it is now one of his most prised possession's.
  23. Blue window cleaner.. Windowlene is my choice for both Vallejo and Citidal paints
  24. The NOTAR would be sorted if Mr Osborne would get his resin finished .... Joseph ? please .....
