    Cheers, mate. I'm asking about the F4U-4 because there were quite a few US Marines squadrons that used the specific type during the Korean War. As you mention about the RNZAF Corsairs, perhaps with the end of the war they decided to leave behind quite a few, and I assume that most likely it would be the ones that were salvaged for various parts.

    Hello chaps and Merry Christmas, I planning to build a diorama with an abandoned F4U-4 but the only decals I have are from Superscale (#48-1059) for Corsairs that operated during the Korean War. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone remembers if there were cases of Corsairs being salvaged for spare/damaged parts. Also, any photos, or books' suggestions will be much appreciated. Cheers, Bill

    AND ... just when you say "I'm going to start scale modelling again" here comes a build like this and makes you feel that perhaps it's better to start a new, a completely new hobby like needle-stitching!!! Thank you for keeping us motivated to finally start building our own collections of Adversaries!!! @Jeff: Now that you mentioned VMFT-401, it would be nice if FINALLY somebody would produce some decals for the early F-5s of the squadron. You know the ones with the narrowed nose numbers. Keep them coming Fred!!! -Bill

    Is this the side of the engine that is visible from the open door? Amazing work!! And the kit still is the best ... after what, 30 years since it was produced by Fujimi.

    My first impression is that the colours Fred are quite close to those we can see in the photo you uploaded, with the exception perhaps of the brown, which looks kind of 'reddish-brown'. But, again, as I told you for your first model, you will need to take it outside and photograph it. Aside from this, let's see how the decals will blend with the colours, because these also can differentiate the final result. Man, I'm looking forward to see her finished !!!! Cheers, Bill

    Hi Fred, First of all, my kudos for #154334. She looks astonishing!!! HOWEVER, I would like to see how the colours look under natural light. So, if it's not too much trouble to take her outside for some photos, that would be great. As for the silver one, well, it is difficult to recreate how the original looks under scale. My thought was to do it in 1/72, using Fujimi's kit, but I'm not yet at that point. As for the '14', it might be FS-36081, or a 'greyish' green, I don't know.     All these aftermarket sets are a MUST-HAVE!!!

    The step running all along the leading edge area is a classic Hasegawa 'trademark'! The Skyhawk has it, The F-111 has. The F-86 has it and so on. But it's an easy fix.

    Hi Fred, Well, Chuck Stewart in his book "Aggressor Aircraft" describes it as "anodised silver"!! which I'm certain it will "turn" a lot of heads, because what kind of colour is that? Did he meant to say that this was some kind or primer?

    So, I guess I'm not the only one who has placed all its Adversaries at the boneyard for more than a few years!!! You have picked to build two of my favourites from VFA-127 ! My last calculations showed that I need around thirty (single seat/two seats) to make all the schemes the squadron's Scooters used to have.     Hi Lucio, I recently bought two Hasegawa Tomcats, and not just because the price was low (don't want to say because it might scare some people here!) but because it is one of the best Tomcats despite its several pitfalls. The Aires sets are not that bad as long as you're determined to cut/trim a lot of resin to make them fit properly, whether this is a cockpit or some wheel wells. So, please, "resurrect" your Tomcat from the shelf of doom and finish it so we can all enjoy it!!! @Steve (A-10 LOADER): Love it? I'm CRAZY ABOUT IT!!!! But I can only
