  1. Found finally the time to put 1 and 1 together after a computer had failed me and away from home for 5 months working. Here's a small take from the pictures i made during the NTM 2010 If you want to see more click here.
  2. During the period that most airshows take place in Europe my boss(Royal Netherlands Navy) sent me away on a trip down south. To be more precise the south coast of Spain between the ports of Malaga and Cartagena. For me to find out if in that period there would be something interesting in the area worth a visit. After searching the web I found the anniversaryevent of Patrulla Aquila which would take place on 5 and 6 june at Murcia /San Javier. In that same weekend the ship would be in port in the city of Almeria some 200 kilometres away but a rental car took care of that problem. Here's a s
  3. The first time I saw the bird I thought it was hdious but the more I see it the more I start to like it!
  4. Together with 8 other members of AGL I for the first time got the oppertunity to visit the Vliehorsrange also known as Cornfieldrange. We boarded the "fast" ferry but it went to Terschelling first and in the end we only gained 10 minutes on the regular ferry. But not to worry,we got a cab that brought us to the barracks and from there an airforcevehicle took up to the controltower. The program for the day wasn't that busy but the guys from rangecontrol did everything in their power to get us as many aircraft as possible visiting the range. Here's a small impression of that day at the Cornf
  5. During our holiday we paid a visit to Egeskov Castle in Kvaerndrup on the island of Fyn. 1 of many museums on the property houses a small collection of aircraft between vintage cars. Here is small impression of the collection. For more look here.

  7. Don't know maybe a reflection of the person who put it there,it lokks like it is scared but still has to stand there anyway.
  8. Hi everybody it has been a while since I've had something to do that was related to aviation but there it is. Together with my wife and daughter spend some holidaytime in Denmark and found some time to visit the Danmarks Flymuseum in Stauning. Here's a small impression. Want to see more? Just klick here.
  9. Another museum I recently visited with my last fieldtrip with the "company" was the Imperial War Museum in London which together with HMS Belfast,Duxford and another museum in Birmingham are all part of the Imperial War Museum group.. The museum gives you an overview where british forces have in combat since the 1st World War. Most of its aircraft are on display at Duxford but in London they have also a few suspended from the ceiling. Here's a small impression on my visit. Want to see more just click here.
  10. I could make the page even bigger but it isn't going to stop, in the next decade we will be left with a lot of F16's here in Europe and some Gripens and we will see the introduction of the JSF and lets hope that the Rafale and Eurofighter and the the new Gripen NG(next generation) will gain some momentum otherwise diversity has all but gone. Lets hope the U.S forces will maintain there presence here with the current fleet but Lakenheath has already send some F15C's back to the U.S . If you see how fast it has withdrawn in the 90ties it makes you very sad. For example the USAFE closed the fo
  11. Just have a look at my site and you will find many more types. But for your sake 2 out of 3 I do have up there. The latter may not be in american colours but it is a former USN/USAF bird if I'm not mistaken.
  12. Past week been digging in my personal archive and came to the conclusion that the last 2 decades it has been going extremely fast with decommissioning of numerous types of aircraft. Fact is that most airforces have been decimated and some airforces have pulled out of Europe completely. Also the introduction of new types have led to retire others. To give you a glimpse of what has been are here some examples. Want to see more click here.
  13. Last trip of the year took me to London. Here you can find several museums which have have 1 or more aircraft in their collection. My goal for this time would be the RAFmuseum in northwest London. Here's a small impression of that visit. For more click here.
  14. Sad thing about it all is that serveilance capacity now has to be hired and it is executed by a civilian company that is bounded by rules that aren't applicable for the military so they can't do their job properly
