  1. Dragon 1/72 scale quick review: What can I say, it’s big! The box is just as big and it comes well packed and partly assembled as their other kits do in this range. I will break it down into the stages: S-IC first stage The paint work is not very crisp where the natural metal paint meets the black paint on the fairings. The F-1 Engines are a very tight fit and I would widen the holes a little before I put them on as they are a push fit. The stab fins are so tight I left mine off until I widen the slots as if you push them on you will never get them off again. The engines are a good starting

  4. Mark, I plan on stripping both of mine and repainting them and adding custom decals to replicate Apollo 17 and Skylab. Using the Weeks drawings as reference. Presently I am designing the 1/72 scale LUT and will have the pad sections laser cut from acrylic. I want to offer this to anyone that is interested. It will be only the basic pad itself and you will have to build the tower structure yourself. I just hope Daragon have got it right with this one. If so it will sell really well. Cheers
  5. Just got word from Hobbylink Japan that my two Saturn V's have been shipped today. So all those that are waiting for this kit, the wait will soon be over. I will post pics as soon as I get it. I plan to make one of them as Skylab with a new turned aluminum shroud.
  6. Hey Chris, I sent you an email to your zactoman addy. Hope you got it ok ?

  8. Excellent work! It came out really nice with the CE tile decals. I like the way you have paid attention to the SRB's and the seal on the segment rings. What color did you use on the ET? Really nice job once agian.
  9. Chris, they are coming along beautifully! I agree that it is better the way you have designed it with the forward preramp as part of the intake. It will at least keep everything square. I think the cut you have to make is not that difficult. I have an idea about that boattail and will drop you a line offboard if that ok? Really great job on those intakes! How soon before the A-7 part are available once more?
  10. Chris, I'm sorry to hear that things are slow. I'll have to go and place and order for some of your stuff for the SU-27. Every little bit will help I guess. Have you thought of taking preorders for your F-14 intakes to generate some cash to keep going? Your one of the only venders that I would be happy to place a preorder with. I'm off to buy some stuff from yur website.
  11. Chris, this is great news!! I knew I didn't buy 4 of the Trumpy F-14's for nothing! So where do I send the blank check? Put me down for 4 sets. Question: Would you ever consider later, doing and early boat tail for the Trumpy F-14? Great work on those intakes and I cannot wait to see the finished product, but you are going to be very busy casting these and getting them out the door!
  12. They work well but are not very accurate. Thier VF-1 and VF-31 decals are not accurate at all and best to buy them from Hobby Easy if you want to buy with less worry about being ripped off. HTH
  13. You need to check this Tamiya F-14A Tomcat build out. I found it on a French modelling website. This guy is incredible with this build. Here's the link: http://fighters.forumactif.com/t21641-f-14...-fuselage-ailes
  14. Excellent work!!!! Your attention to detail and painting is great. It really looks superb!Great job. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
  15. Replace it as if the vehicle was involved in an accident the Insurance Company could waiver the claim due to a unsafe vehicle and the Police could also hold you responsible. Basically you would be screwed by both.
  16. I think a chute would be in order and the easiest way to get down. Basejump!! Could be one of the good perks of the job. People would actually pay to basejump from something like this. I have a friend that cleans highrise windows on office buildings and he makes about $60 an hour. He is always secured with ropes etc. Not a bad income for the work.
  17. You all know what the problem is with our pets don't you? They are all jealous because we have better toys than them!!!!!
  18. Yep. Training the dog is the key. Can you train him to play dead, forever? Just joking.Ban him from the modelling area while you work or give him something to occupy himself.
  19. Hate to tell ya but the P-51D is the next 32 scale kit from Tamiya!
  20. Good job, glad I could help you out. I'll have to post some pics of my cockpit in a few days when it's completed.I have added the Aires wheelbays to mine also and the nose wheelbay is a pain to paint as it is all one piece.
  21. Trumpy thought of doing the F-111 series but was to expensive for them. We have instead the HB series in 48 scale. I do not know why Tamiya never did the F-4B but it is a lot more than the nose. New wing upper and lower sections, wheel doors, speedbrakes, new wheels, tail cap,IR seeker on nose, cockpit. I know because I'm building two of them now! I am cheating though and using the cutting edge sets and you do not want to know what I payed for them.I am also modifying two Aires F-4J cockpits to F-4B standards.I could have half a dozen F-4's for what they set me back!Still it is the only game in t
  22. For the first attempt that is exceptional. Well done! Mine didn't turn out that good first time around. Looks really nice and what better subject than the Sabre.
  23. I will tell you now that the next kit from Tamiya will be a P-51D Mustang in 32 scale. Their jets are basically dead as far as new developement goes. You will see a ME-109 and FW-190 in 32 scale also from Tamiya. Besides a new F-14 from Tamiya would be in nearly in the $300 market with the same detail as the Spit or Zero.People complain about Trumpy's pricing. I wonder how many would shell out this type of cash.
  24. Terry, have you checked the panel installed with the HUD and the windshield clearance? Mine fit ok bit I read others have had problems with it. Good save with the IP photoetch. Glad I could help out before you made the same mistake as I did and paint first.Good job on the pit.
