  1. Hi Guys, Info on the Aussie Blackhawks and Chinooks, such as the Serial Numbers and names associated with them, can all be found here: http://www.adf-serials.com.au/ Just click on "Army" in the menu and it's easy enough from there. As for high quality images: http://images.defence.gov.au/fotoweb/ Is the Australian Defence Image Library. Just type in A15 CHINOOK or A25 BLACKHAWK. Any chance of any of these sheets containing one of these? I think it's the 101st CAB in Afghanistan, providing air support for the Aussie Special Operations Task Group. (Images are from ADF library. http:/
  2. Great work on the big hornet, Mike. As far as decals go, Hawkeye Models (here) do 2 sets of 75 Sqn Top Hat decals, AAF-007 (Hi Vis), and AAF-080 (Lo Vis). Apparently they're both available in 1/32, and the AAF-007 is even specifically A21-29. Now that this bird's done though, you might just find something you like for the rest of your stash. Also, the Southern Sky (here) decals are rather nice too. Jesse.
  3. That's it. I knew I forgot something for the list. Thanks madmike. I had a look at a review here, with pics of the set and preferred the R&R set (here). I think the details are better. As for the accuracy of the High Planes kit overall, it looks pretty good, with people more knowledgeable than I giving it the green light. When I was looking it was about AU$80, but the website now says they go for AU$35, so it would definitely be worth a look. High Planes kit built here. High Planes site. Jesse.
  4. So, does anybody actually have any info on the stated topic? I remember hearing about this a while ago, but I can't remember where. That Pig would be a very worthy addition to the build pile and eventually the shelf. Jesse.
  5. Hi Derek, As nobody has replied yet, I'll chip in and see if it helps you. I haven't built either of them yet, so there will be others who would know better, but I tried researching both the kits a while ago, as I plan to build a RAAF 127. I was going to pay up for the Italeri, but then I found this R&R models RAAF Hawk 127 conversion for the Airfix kit here. I can vouch for this being an awesome set, but the Aussie Hawks have the cockpit set up like an F/A-18 for training, so may not be what you're after. If you want straight out of the box, and you don't mind the extra cost for the o
  6. Sorry. My fault. I was looking at the SAC. Does anyone have a pic of the G-Factor gear? I'd trust brass over white metal.
  7. The landing gear in the kit (the one's that sag) is made from white metal, right? And, the G-Factor set is made from white metal. I can understand how brass (like the F/A-18E/F) would be better than a soft white metal, but what's stopping the white metal G-Factor gear from sagging as well? Is it a different composition?
  8. I haven't looked myself, so I don't know for sure, but have you tried looking in the section of your LHS for model ship builders? They have all sorts of scale ropes etc for their rigging.
  9. Looks awesome! Nice idea painting the wingtips instead of using the decals and trying to match paint to them. I have this kit in my stash, so I was eager to see how it turned out. Outstanding!
  10. I've had a look around HLJ and can't work out how to get a separate sprue. Have you done it before, and where else sells sprues separately?
  11. Looks pretty good. Do you know a good place to get it? It's at HLJ, and it's on the Available list at Sandle hobbies here in Australia. Have you used it before? Actually, the 72 scale PE looks pretty good. The 48 has only got half the goodies. Then again, the 72 scale Hasegawa cockpit isn't anything to write home about.
  12. Yeah, I was going to do that, but then thought I'd probably stuff it somehow. As long as they have the shape, size and angle of the IFF antennae correct, it's one thing I was prepared to not "reinvent the wheel." Plus, with the upgrade sets, there's the other antennae as well, so I thought I'd save a bit of time. I take long enough to build these things as it is. That's a pretty nice RAAF hornet, though. I'm planning on doing 3 and 77 Sqn. One with nice things hanging off the wings, and one fully loaded (ordnance, cockpit, electronics bay etc...) Few things on the list before those, though.
  13. Excellent. Thanks Silent Eagle and Long-mc. Helps a lot. That Kinetic F-16 does have a lot of stuff to put under the wings, doesn't it. Tempting. Might go with a few of the AIM-120 and AIM-9x from DrPepper. As well as check out one or two with the PE from Flightpath. Thanks guys.
