  1. Here's my Hasegawa F-4J with True Details cockpit and intakes, Eduard photo etch, Wolfpack resin wing fold and Afterburner 2011 IMPS decals. Time is a funny thing and really sneaks up on you. This model took me 14 months to finally complete. Hope you dudes like it and please feel free point out anything that needs critiquing. Xavi

If the decals are from Furball Aero-Design then, I'll take two or three!
  3. Or you could charge double to ship to Germany.
  4. That looks like a pretty awesome little kit. Nice job!
  5. This is the first time I've ever seen that squadron!
  6. I like a combination of 1 and 3. A large action packed painting on the front with photos of the completed model on the side of the box.
  7. I have a couple of ideas for models I would like to build. The first would be a Texas DPS patrol car for my dad who was a Texas State Trooper for over 10 years. Second would be DDG-66 USS Gonzlalez which was named after a US Marine who received the Medal of Honor posthumously in Vietnam who was from my home town. I was also at the ships christening in 1996. And finally a Border Patrol OH-6 in memory of a buddy of mine from my local model club who was a retired Border Patrol pilot who recently passed away. Would those projects qualify for this group build?
  8. Thanks everyone! It's been a full day since I got the news and I'm still on cloud 9. D-Rob- everyone tells me that the first year sucks but I'm in a pretty fortunate position. 1st of all since I did my student internship there I'm already familiar with the staff and most of the students that I will have in my classes next year. Secondly the teacher that I am replacing is now one of my bosses and finally the campus I will be at is an IB school and has very dedicated and motivated students.
  9. I don't post much, if anything, about my personal life but I just have to gloat a little on here. This past May I graduated from the University of Texas-Pan American with a degree in Art Education with all level certification. Well fast forward to today, I got a call from the high school I did my student internship at offering me a job! So of course I said YES!
  10. Are you thinning your paints? Try using a 1:1 paint to thinner mix and shooting at a higher psi. For large areas I go with 30psi. This happens to me all the time with modelmaster paints. Usually I just give it a light sanding with a 1200 grit sand paper and I am good to go. Good luck with your build. -Xavi
  11. Shut it down. Whitey just won ARC. Everyone move on. No comment will ever top this.
  12. You're doing a helluva job on your Tomcat! I can't with to see her done.
  13. Nice job on your Tomcat! I've build 6 of them myself and no two builds are ever the same. Just when I think I have all of the problems with them worked out a new problem always seems to pop up. I like to tell people that building a Hasegawa Tomcat is a lot like getting a tattoo. When you start one it seems like it's going to more trouble than they're worth but, once it's finished after a while you want another one. -Xavi
  14. Don't do it. My girlfriend tried it and it was a total scam. You guys should add her - stelbaz.

Here's the link to the original photo.
  16. I think this ad is better tailored to the demographic that model companies should be trying to reach.
  17. OH MAN! I love those Japanese aggressor birds!
  18. There was an episode of Metalolcalypes where the rhythm guitarist Toki was building a model and had some planes hanging in his room. I was in a metal band at that time when the episode first aired so naturally I totally nerded out all over that. haha I found this screenshot of the episode. And another with an F-14 covered in vomit. If you've ever seen the show it would make sense to you.
  19. Thanks again everyone. Oh I wish I did, but unfortunately I'm just a nerd who really loves Tomcats. My Tomcat collection needed some color and that orange really pops out in all that grey.
  20. Go HERE! and Revell will send you a new part for free and no questions asked. I've done it a few times, even for kits that I've had for years or got second hand, and they've always come through.
  21. Looks awesome so far BAH! I love the load out.
  22. Thanks for pointing that out. I tried to mute the orange with with a brown and black oil wash but I guess it didn't give it the effect I wanted. I may go back and give the orange a very light coat of gull grey paint to tone them down. I also just notice that I forget to put the crew names no the canopy.
  23. Thanks guys! I was a little worried that I may have over weathered it but thankfully I guess I was wrong.
