  1. Aaaah fantastic, The Southern African wars are so neglected so this is very nice to see! And a beautiful T-6 you have made!
  2. Fantastic Maurizio, no other words for it!
  3. I don't think its a kill marking. I believe its a representation of the F-4 that they are flying. (Of course I may be wrong) South African Mirage F-1 Pilots had a similar marking of the Mirage F1 in their helmets at times (1 squadron F1AZs and 3 squadron F1CZs). I have also seen Belgian F-104 pilots with similar F-104 silhouette on their helmets, I cant remember for sure but I think I have seen some F-16 pilots doing the same thing.
  4. Wow, fantastic, these have to be the best two 1/72 Mirages I have seen!
  5. Very very nice What colours did you use?
  6. Thanks a lot for the paint info, its a great help to me. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more interesting aircraft from you. Happy New Year guys.
  7. Might I say, well done on a varied range of unusual and rarely done subjects and air forces. It is always a breath of fresh air to see, for example a Somali F-6, Zambian Dornier or Albanian Mig-17 etc, or something in that line as opposed to yet another grey F-15, F-16 and other modern grey coloured aircraft. (Nothing against the F-15/F16, but its nice to see something different) What paints did you use for the Somali F-6?
  8. I asked for: 1/48 Mirage F1 1/48 Mirage IIIE/R/5 1/48 Fiat G-91 1/48 Mig-23 1/48 Mig-27 (Or Mig-23-BN) 1/48 SU-20 ( And a few choppers,1/48 SA330 Puma,1/48 Alouette 3,1/48 Westland Wasp)
  9. Hi Cougar, Good news for you, the photo that you provided in the link " Click Me - 35 SQN SAAF Sunderland with upper turret." Is very definately POST WAR, The Springbok roundels displayed on the aircraft in the photo were introduced in November 1950 (According to the SAAF Museum) On a side note, the sea plane control tower is still in its position on the esplanade in Durban although the base (Congella) itself is +- 1km away and is now used by shipping companies.. So good luck with your project, as I live in Durban I look forward to seeing the finished product.

  16. Asolutely beautiful! Could you tell me which paints/colours you used. Is there a humbrol or Tamiya equivilent straight from the bottle/tin for that medium green ?
  17. Hey Janman, thanks for that

  19. Thanks guys. I an South African and I really enjoy the African air forces aircraft cammo and their generally poor condition, air forces like Zambia, Mozambique, Angola, Rhodesia, Botswana and South Africa. Although the South African Air Force aircraft were generally kept in excellent condition. I particularly like Sub Saharan Africa as most of those aircraft have been involved in some sort of conflict. Cheers
  20. Mozambique Mig-21, based in Beira 1980's and flew ground attack sorties against the Renamo guerrilla group I have built many (not very good) models over the years but this was my first serious attempt trying a number of , for me, new techniques. The main ones being using an Air brush, masking, primer, panel wash, giving the aircraft a somewhat worn/dirty look, I made templates and airbrushed the "bort" numbers 223 and used Mav decals for national markings, they are very thin and worked very well. These were all "firsts" for me. So please don't expect a masterpiece, however any critisizms or
