  1. I managed to fix the broken wingtip and mix a close match for the pale upper surface grey, airbrushed the repaired wingtip, and painted out the incorrect areas of the blue panels and did a few much needed light grey touchups. Then I mixed a not so close match  to the undersurface grey and redid the broken wing tip area, excessive blue panel sections and a few touchups of the undersides. Tomorrow I will touch up the green colour which fortunately I saved a little tin of origionally :D/> Antenna etc added, touch ups and repairs, done, gloss coat on....then ugh the Hasegawa decal
  2. Now the yellow panels and some seriously extreme masking to protect the base colour scheme Underside yellow Upperside yellow Next up the coat of blue over the yellow but I think I will leave that until tomorrow. I suppose it was going too well to last, I did not mask the flaps on the upper and lower wing, they were supposed to stay the basic colour #-o The drop tank was painted with Tamiya insignia white from an aerosol and had the green cammo brush painted with Humbrol enamel more than 6 weeks ago. The green cammo needed to be changed to blue so I gave it a coat of Tamiya insigni
  3. The pale grey is waaaay too pale so I was afraid to respray it but I made a very thin mix of slightly darker grey and lightly "dusted" it until I was happy that it was suitably darker and I think it looks better now. The green also needs changing because its too dark and I will do something similar. I have realised somewhat belatedly that the reason I am getting the wrong colours and having to respray my models too many times to get it right is that I do my airbrushing on the verandah...in the shade...yes...I know don't say anything!! My next model up to be sprayed will be the Isaeli A-4N a
  4. Upper surface base colour done, the grey is a bit lighter than it shows in the photo, it could have been a little lighter but I think I will leave it as it is, droptanks and white scissors are in background for colour comparison. The Skyhawk is now masked for the very dark green Green done...hmmmm :D/> Now I am too afraid to remove the masking!! My curiosity got the better of me and I removed the masking, not bad, still some over spray despite my best efforts but I am happy with the colours and the general finish. Anti-glare panel, ID bands etc still to come This
  5. Some progress on the A-4C, I'm getting close to painting now. And........the drop tanks, on the "gaudy brown / green tanks" the sand colour may be a little dark but I am going to leave it as it is...sorry about the spelling on the pic above! How do you guys like the painting skills on that grey/ green tank????? Haaa haa I bet some of you are grimacing at the ugly paint job but it's actually supposed to look like that, pic below of the pale grey tank with hastily slapped on green paint. Windshield and canopy masked Light coat of primer to check for any snags....whoops, better add
  6. Here's a veiw of the lovely nosewheel bay detail. Cockpit instrument panel decal was horrible so I will have to paint it...ooo heck..my eyes!!! The cockpit minus instrument panel so far, the "dirt" is a bit too heavy but very little will be seen when assembled. The seats not great...but neither is my detailing skills... Dry fitting the cockpit assembly and wings I still have to pick out the detail/hoses/pipes etc but the "wash" in the undercarrige bays...might be a little too heavy Well, thanks to my pal Jorge in Argentina for giving me heaps more help with info, he previ
  7. I started this one about a year ago and posted it on the SAAF forum so I decided to show it here too, it is a representation of FAA A-4C C-318 in 1982 Many thanks to Jorge who helped with a heap of advice and information for my build. 1/48 Hasegawa A-4C Skyhawk, its a beautiful kit. I am going to make it as one of the pale Grey and Dark green with blue Id panels Argentine Skyhawks from the Falklands/Malvinas war. So here's the kit, I am going to build the cockpit "out the box" and close the canopy. The Argentine A-4C had "blown" flaps so these are scribed on the upper wing. I
  8. Thanks Vince first time I tred to detail a cockpit with own made bits. Latest progress.
  9. Some progress on the Imp Mk2 and some better quality photo's. I placed the main control panel decal after the fuselage was assembled and damaged it and the decal should be a bit lower down on the control panel, I will cut a decal from somewhere else to patch it up but it does not look too bad for now and the cockpit will be closed anyway. Here is where I am at for now, I lost the left flap and had to swipe one from another kit, its not finished yet which is why the left one is full of putty.
  10. Bashace, PM me your e-mail address and I will send you some colour photo's of that Mig
  11. This is an ABSOLUTLY STUNNING build, congratulations!
  12. The cockpit has been installed and the fuselage assembled, I will use the decal for the main control panel and then install the throttle handle, control stick and ejector seat. The fuselage went together very nicely, no filler needed, just a very light sanding along the top and a bit more on the bottom. The tape is to protect the detail around the area being sanded.

Hi Ricardo72, Angola and Ethiopia also used Mig-21R
  14. Very nice Dragan, great job on the colour scheme!
  15. Fantastic finish on your Tomahawk, well don you must be very happy!
  16. Hi Vince, yes this is the 1/48 Italeri kit (ex Esci molds) Again apologies for the very poor photo quality but its all that I can do for now. Anyway, I busied up the cockpit, the its not 100% but should be ok when the cockpit is closed and its a lot better than what the kit supplied, I will use the decal for the main control panel though. I hope that I remember to paint the wood colour floor boards and side pockets before I close her up. So here is where I am at, thats an MB4 ejection seat for my Mirage IIID2Z, I will modify a similar one to resemble the Imps seat. So here are some blurry
  17. Whooa sorry to see that happen, maybe a light sanding and re-paint will do the trick, maybe airbrush the base colours on and hand paint the green cammo...good luck!
  18. Hi Niels I am interested I have sent you a pm.
  19. Very nice to see an African Mig on the go, its looking good so far
  20. My apologies for the poor photo quality, pics were taken with my cell phone, I am away on business and I will only be home in 3 weeks time so these were the best I could manage. I have two Imp Mk-2's and two Mk1's on the go at the moment. The Imp Mk2's and one of the Mk1's are new builds and the one Imp Mk1 is a refurbishment. Only the one of the new build Impala Mk 2's will be for this GB Firstly a not very good attempt at the Matra F2 68mm rocket pod, the nose side profile needs to be more curved and the rear section needs to be more tapered, I made this by cutting off the tip of the k
  21. Thanks for the clarification guys. I will order the decals in the near future and I look forward to using them. Cheers Greg
