How many A/C to compliment Carrier?
phasephantomphixer replied to phasephantomphixer's topic in General Discussion
Yes, those are the numbers I needed to work from. Understand applying the give-take for flight operations, onshore, etc. Thanks Darren! -
No luck finding out how many aircraft I need to buy to fill deck and hangars for my Carrier kits. Most important example is for my 1/350 Trumpeter Nimitz. I wish to represent it at the time of last F-4 Phantom cruise, first Tomcat cruise (changing out aircraft accordingly). Would like to know so I can place the correct amount of planes within the kit box, and sell off the rest. Also have the 1/350 Trumpeter Lexington, Ticonderoga, And Hornet. For Hornet, have the B-25's and Some Wildcat's to put below deck right? Thanks!

I received my kits quickly and as described (bagged with loose parts) including an extra 1/72 Hasegawa F-16. It is what I expected, the price was agreed, and I got a good deal which is appreciated! Thanks!! -
I learned this Months ago when I sent a small resin replacement part from Washington State to Canada and I had it in a regular business mail envelope. Still cost me $6.00!! I have a hobby connection in Vancouver, CN that will ship from either side of the border depending. But if I find a deal within Canada, I just have the package sent to him and he will bring it down with him on a visit. All this while fuel prices are so low! I've seriously curtailed my shipping. Have you tried the USPS "Flat Rate Box"? I thought local USPS had note of same cost to Mexico/Canada.

Okay, now that I opened the less priced one, I took a look at the kit decals. Anyone know of a review, I didn't find one. I'm calling the second option markings BOGUS. I was in the 940th ARW in 2004. They were at Beale AFB, so unless they got the scheme while one was visiting Kansas... And the fin flash is incorrect anyway. It should have a red background and be located mid-fin. Bummer as I sure would've used them! -
Anyone else get a gift from Squadron?

Months ago I got their FT-17 tank book which I have Zero interest in. Used to be a big customer but last shipment I got was for Black Friday. That took some work/effort to pull off though. -

Updating as I drove to the farther HL today and they had the kit at a second clearance of $17.81. I bought it, so anyone know if they will accept return of the $26.99 one? -

WooHoo! Hope they get the nose/windows right. And if they make only one type, that it is the later B. -
Lots of stuff to sell. Multiple Scales
phasephantomphixer replied to Kale's topic in Buy and sell - add scale to your title
Wow - Awesome stuff that arrived fast and as described. 100% pleased - Thanks! -
You can also try using Future by placing a few drops on the area and laying or sliding wet decal onto the Future. Then blot down soaking up excess but leaving it wet underneath. As it dries a bit, add some more on top, like a sandwich. Once it dries it should tighten up and look right.

Lucky you as my LHLS had one in clearance but at $26.99. With wonderful Washington State tax it ended up costing just under $30.00 Oh well -
Wow, that pilot was busy! Need to do a bearing check on that gun. Were there possibly any other photos taken? Like to see the sides, A/C ID, etc. (yellow caps-Bulldogs from DM?) With refuel dents, at least they didn't hit the armored windscreen.

And hopefully whomever gets it opens it before kit is no longer available!

Yes the black/white Squadron ads were one part of the magazine I would look forward to, as on occasion there would be an item discounted that was not in their Monthly flyer. Remember the Testors/Fujimi/Italeri bagged kits? Still have a few. Agreed there are no real deals found so easily anymore, but I will add that I was able to settle a healthy deal from them this last Black Thursday, but it took some work. My last "free" gift was their book on the Renault Bt-17 tank, any trades?

Well, if they get the time, strip it and clear coat it with markings. Then mount a copy of the Antenna. They should do the same program with a completely gutted Raptor...

The issue can occur if one applies only a gloss white as it can be a bit see through and pool in low areas easily. Enamel seems to do this most. Then adding another coat or laying it on thick will compound the issue. As others replied, base with primer, flat white first to avoid this.

Well put, some bad days indeed. He was a great guest when on the late shows as well. Saddened.

Awesome work as always Gary, and appreciate you taking me there for the day! That last IFE shot really shows the racks/sway braces. The HH-60 nose art reminds me of the "Uber" people's Taxi service here.

Only way I know of controlling the cut of deep channel with hard/brittle plastic is a fresh #11 blade reversed and low pressure (low at first with increasing pressure) passes guided by dymo tape. Keep blade at consistent degree angle to avoid widening.

Yeah, just saw the announcement - Ace of Spades . In 1986 Mother brought me back a Motorhead England shirt from her London trip, right before I went into the Air Force. It got swiped from the Barracks laundry room! .
