I often build aircraft representing smaller air forces in 1/72nd scale, with the odd misadventure into "What if" colour schemes.

Other builds include Science Fiction, Real Space and Anime robots, space or aircraft (mostly Macross).
  1. Thank you for the suggestions, George! I like the idea of using the straw for the intake. I am now debating whether to build a canopy frame, as the aircraft has already been painted. The kit sat for a few months before I painted it and I forgot to check the canopy fit. Oops! With a frame built, I may have some blending to do, but that should be manageable. I will post pictures once I have puzzled it out and place a link here. Thanks again!
  2. Hello all, Here is a model that I completed in January of this year. I had picked two old kits to build, this one Airfix and the next Minicraft-Hasegawa, since I knew I would do a series of 109s. Maybe some day I will work up to FineMolds or Tamiya release! It was my first attempt at a Finnish Messerschmitt Bf-109G-6 Mersu and was brush painted. The Minicraft-Hasegawa Bf-109, completed in February, was airbrushed and will be posted soon.
  3. Hello all, Another model due for an overhaul this month. This was fun to build as I was not all that familiar with the Lightning. Already an intriguing shape, the two-seater really makes for an interesting subject.
  4. Hello all, I have a model of this unique aircraft from Taiwan and discovered that the 'decals' are a type of dry transfer on a plastic sheet. Normally, this would not be too big a problem, but it looks as though they have melted. Would anyone know if an after-market decal sheet is available for this aircraft? If not, would anyone have any spare Taiwanese decals from another aircraft that I could obtain? Thank you kindly, wilburfish
  5. Hello all, Here is another aircraft that I have pulled down from my display shelf for a minor overhaul. I seem to be in repair mode, rather than build mode lately. It was brush painted during a period when my airbrush was packed away. For the mottling on the side of the fuselage, I experimented with using a q-tip and pretty much 'dry-brushed' the paint where needed.
  6. Hello Andre, This was the original AMT/Ertl release. There was no scale listed on the box or instructions. It looks as though AMT re-released it as 1/350th scale with a few new variations. Thank you, wilburfish
  7. This one is not so much a new build as it is a minor overhaul. It has been sitting on my display shelf for a couple years and needs some TLC, as a few parts have fallen off (gear doors, etc). At least it has gone unnoticed by my cat, unlike my built submarine fleet. My Hasegawa F-16C in 1/48th scale was a great build, although larger than my usual 1/72nd subjects. I have another to build, but the Thunderbirds decals are getting old and I am in the market for a unique decal set.
  8. Hello all, I have recently completed painting on this kit only to realise that the canopy is not the right shape. Would anyone have a spare or be able to recommend a replacement? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you kindly, wilburfish
  9. I am looking for any spare decals from the Revell 1/48th scale Grumman F9F-5P Panther, specifically the VU-1 squadron markings ('UA' tail code) that came in the #04582 release. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  10. Hello all, This is one of my more recent Sci-Fi builds. I have also been fighting with a Federation Roundabout.
  11. Hello all, These are two Frog kits that I have been tinkering with for a little while now. Hopefully ready for paint in the near future. The Fokker D.XXI will have AvUsk Finnish Air Force decals. The Boston will have CanMilAir RCAF decals.
  12. Knee deep in an Italeri Su-34, trying not to lose my mind...
