  1. That's what I thought. Cheers mate. plak
  2. Hi guys, just a quick question, does the 1/72 Revell F/A-18E have the option to build the two seater F model? If not, is one on the way? Or is the Hasegawa kit the only game in town for the F model? Cheers, plak
  3. So, no confirmation of that Pig kill, then?
  4. Really nice diaroma! As far as the acrylic rods used, mind if I ask a few questions: How did you secure them to the base? Did you add tubing down the burner cans (i.e. brass rod) for strength? What procedure did you use to bend them to the correct shape? How did you manage to bend them so that they are, by my eyes, perfectly parallel? Where did you get them from, local hardware store? Cheers in advance, plak

  6. Just checking back in to see if we had any resident Pig experts who could verify, but I've liked reading some of the other 'weird' kill marking stories that have come out too... Why'd they get so worked up over the kill marking, Marv? Thought that would have been a badge of honour for the unit rather than something to get grilled about. Oh well, it's always easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, I s'pose... Oh wow, that CF-104 pilot must have kicked and screamed like a little girl once he was alone. That sucks... I'd imagine if that had been confirmed it would have been one of a
  7. Evening gents, I've read a couple of times now that apparently in a Red Flag excercise a few years ago (2004?), a rather unfortunate F-16 pilot made the mistake of underestimating the old Pig and attempted to engage one low and fast, and ended up being the victim instead (missle lock with a sidewinder?). Does anyone know if there is any truth behind this incident? If so, would anyone happen to know which aircraft was involved in particular (i.e. serial number) because if that actually happened, I think that particular F-111 deserves a spot on my shelf... Cheers, plak

Evening gents, I've read a couple of times now that apparently in a Red Flag excercise a few years ago (2004?), a rather unfortunate (and I'm told arrogant) F-16 pilot made the mistake of underestimating the old Pig and attempted to engage one low and fast, and ended up being the victim instead (missle lock with a sidewinder?). 9. Sorry mate, I checked my 1/72 Authentic Decals Frogfoot sheet, but no dice, the serial numbers are Red 16, 24, 25, 26, 47, White 07 & 09, Blue 02, 17 and 22. I have scans of the instruction sheet, but I don't think they are going to be of use to you, as the earliest date for the schemes is 1991.
  10. PM Sent. Good to hear, they've got some great schemes available, and I'm not willing to pay for three different sets of Aussie decals just to do one hornet (markings, slime lights and stencils are all seperate sets!!). I'm north too, not quite as north as Virginia, I'm set up at Mawson Lakes (15-20 mins from CBD).
  11. Hi guys, I'm looking at doing up an F/A-18 in RAAF Lo-Vis livery, and have come across the Hawkeye decals brand. It's an Australian based company, and have found their website and they offer quite a few sheets for Aussie hornets. Firstly, has anyone used this brand? Good quality? Secondly, I've tried emailing the webmaster of their site, and no reply, and the last update on the page was start of last year, does anyone know whether these guys are still around/in business? Cheers in advance, plak
  12. Afterburner decals have only released one friggen' sheet in 1/72, the Aggressor F-15's, which is a damn shame because their sheets look freaking magnificient and I would very much like to get a hold of quite a few of them in gentleman's scale. Does anyone know/has anyone queried as to why they seem to be 1/48 exclusive?
  13. I sincerely appreciate the offer Grant, it's not often you'll have someone volunteering their time to look for another's current item of interest, let alone a stranger. As I'm not quite ready to get a Prowler up on the work station just yet, I might take a raincheck on that offer or try the 'Spares Box' forum in a few months time when I'm ready to start one. Thanks again
  14. Cheers. I wanted to know because I'm looking to pick one up (prob a Shadowhawks or a Gauntlets scheme), but none of the jets come with the black radiation symbol for the nose, which Prowlers just don't look right without IMHO (even if it's not strictly correct for the scheme). Thanks again.
  15. Quick question, as far as I'm aware all of the recent reboxings of the Prowlers that Hasegawa has released have just been the original high vis mold, with new low vis or CAG decals thrown in. What I need to know is whether these reboxings still come with the original high vis decal sheets that came with the initial boxing. Cheers in advance, Plak
