  1. Good luck on your search. If I remember correctly, the engine really represents a P-3 engine, as gearbox and engine are reversed. (down versus up). Floridapilot
  2. are you still looking for the T-38? I have one I could let go. $30 plus shipping sounds good to me. Also have two bobs black versions decals if you are interested. Some parts are cut off sprues, but not started. I am in california, USA Floridapilot
  3. Thank you for the reply. Job is part time, but hey. Baby is fine, born December 26, already had surgery to fix stomach issue, (Paloric Stenosis?) (sp) search on it if you are bored, but doing fine now. SUV was my wifes, rear end crash 8 vehicles (not her fault)........December 1, 2009,,,,,yes the math, 8 and 1/2 months expecting,,,,,fun times to say the least. Just surfing looking for full time work and thought I would drop a line. Thanks again for looking, I have promised myself to finish this thing, my wife even bugs me about it which is great. I promised my bother this airplane about
  4. Ok, so things have been a little crazy around the house. A new baby, new job, and a totalled SUV. Not nessasarily in that order, but you get the idea. So I have not been able to work much in the shop, but did manage to get the windshield in, sanded, and masked, and got the rear cargo doors installed and faired in. Need to cut new windows in the rear doors, and place the windows in the modified locations for the fuse sides. Also got the wings finished and the props and spinners complete. Just need to break out the airbrush and get some painting done. Pics to follow soon. Does anybody kn
  5. Do any of you builders have any close-up pics of that super T-34B Mentor from the Nats 09? I think it was also in Jax Con 09, but cant find any real good shots. Anybody got the inside on the build? I got my High Performance checkout in one just like it and it would go great with my Charlie Thanks Floridapilot
  6. Would you want Trumpeters P-51 engine in 1/24th. Block and heads? glued but not the rest. I will not use it, but need the exausts.
  7. I will be there Friday. Havent missed it in 12 years, well, except, you know. Anyone else here in Reno for the Air Races. Just flew in today and going out to Stead tomorrow to check things out.
  8. Taly ho, got a set of grey ones from my Daco (Skyline) set, and a clear set, (without eyebrows). Used one set on my Sabena -300, the rest are yours.
  9. Hello USMC Herc, could you explain what the Disco ball is, I know the area around the doors and the rear "plug" could use some more detailing. The plug itself does in fact appear to be just sheet metal wrapped around the fuse, as the part in front a in back have external ribbing and such. any ideas?
  10. Still sanding and scribing the rear door areas, then have to drill out the holes for the "modified windows on the side". That should be no problem. I wanted to do some painting, but just cant decide what color to paint the props and spinners. these are composite props, so I dont think flat black would be right......If you have any ideas,,,this will be a big part of the finished bird. (which Is getting closer......) Floridapilot
  11. Ok, so I actually got a chance to build tonight!! I just finished wet sanding the putty I applied back in March 09!! Boy I tell you wet sanding is the way to go. Easier, no mess, and virtually no cleanup. I finished sanding the engine to nacelle (4) and I am quite happy with the way they came out. Wings are finished. I also worked on the putty from March on the fuse, and not quite finished, found some more spots to work on, especially around the rear troop doors. This is the area that was cut out for the plug. So when the water dries, out with the cyno. Going to be working on the prop
  12. Ok, Everybody, heres a little update. I have not had much time for modeling. Matter of fact, I was just taking a break from job hunting and decided to see what everybody was working on. Thanks for the interest, as for someone that does not do this sort of thing too often, it is very nice to here your comments. Not going to give the big sob story, but my job was lost when the company went belly up. Been able to do odd jobs, and wife is making good money and very understanding, but still been very tough. With a 2 year old, (shes Awesome, points at every airplane in the sky, or even when in
  13. Ryan, slow goes on the assembly line. Just working on the fit of the engines. Lots o work there. I think I should finish them tonight, and wash, prime and ready for some paint!!!! Thanks for looking
  14. Yes, I still have a lot of work to do. Engine painting, landing gear, and about 1 square foot of decals left. This thing has so many little markings it is crazy!! Floridapilot
  15. Yes, somewhere years ago I heard the term. It is a spray can paint. I would imagine it came from the "old" spray cans we used to buy. Sometimes they would work, but most of the time it was just a flood of paint!! Makes quite a mess!!
