    Magna Argosy

Cheers for the info guys! I didn't think it would be an easy build, but I like a challenge. (Contrail HP42 or AIM DH89 anyone? ) That said, I like the sound fo that Vac form - Robert, I had no idea AIM had sorted themselves out. I'll look into that before comitting to the Magna kit. Cheers once again chaps! :-)

    Magna Argosy

Hi Folks - I notice that Magna have released a 1/72 Argosy - a subject I have wanted for a long time, in the perfect scale. (I don't do 1/44 much, and wouldn't do the subject justice for me) Now, my experience of Magna kits is patchy at best: I've done their Devon and Petrel and was less than whelmed. Considering the price of 90 sovs, which is a major outlay for me, I'd be interested to see if anyone has any opinions on the kit having seen it. ( Mail order is my only oprion for buying) Thanks for any info!
  3. Terribly sorry chox old chum, would you care to send me an email on what is ok to talk about? or perhaps just put a list up on the sticky topics section so we don't all get out of hand.
  4. Gods yes, there's hundreds of 1/24 Lancs and Mossies, why bother with more? :-) Personally my "bag" is post WW2 brit jets, but there'll be plenty who want these two. Fester, are they as nice as they seem from the pics?
  5. Thanks Edgar, I'll look into it. I've done some more looking, and yes, it seems DIY is the way to get Mary all marked up... Cheers again :-)

    BBMF Spit: Mary

Hi folks, in this month's Flypast Magazine, there's a lovely picture of the BBMF's Spit PR XIX (PM631) along with their almost as nice Hurricane. The Spit is in SEAC colours, bearing the name Mary on the nore. The pic was taken around 1994. Does anyone know if there's a decal sheet anywhere for this aeroplane? and does there exist a halfway decent kit/ conversion set for a PRXIX in 1/48? My girlfriend's name is Mary, and she LOVES spitfires: she's a member of the Spitfire Society and I would like to build this one for her. Anyone help with some info? Cheers folks, for answering anoth
  7. Cheers for that Gary: the owner of Heritage was unable to tell me. As for scratching..I have about 5 comissions on right now, and am up to my armpits in it: it's worth the tenner to me to get finished before doomsday. :-) Flank: better than being told off for scratching someone else's.... :D
  8. Hi folks - I'm working on a Classic Airframes Cranberry and would like to drop the flaps ( I have a real flap thing going on) anyone know if the Heritage flap set made for the Aeroclub kit will fit? Thanks for any and all info
  9. Hi mate, I'd check the reviews over on Modeling Madness - they were pretty helpful. What I can say is that the new tool kits are a world away from the old tools - engraved panel lines, photoetch, dropped slats and flaps etc. From looking at the GM website, I'd say stay away from the 15 dollar kits and below - the rest LOOK to be new tools, but just to be sure, it may be worth calling them.(and checking MM) No doubt other more informed souls than me will be along in a few minutes with more precise advice:-)
  10. There have been some good points made here, by both sides. I have to admit my issue is with the tone of some of the criticism of their kits (and indeed anyone's) I used to frequent the Airfix forum, and used to wonder why certain folks there used to delight in saying that their next release *would* need: resin, aftermarket decals, *would* be innaccurate, have terrible fit...etc etc etc. Without so much as seeing a pic of a test shot. Now, we have someone Barbera Streisanding ( I love that image, BTW) about the upcoming Revell Gannet: "It couldn't be worse than the Trumpeter kit" I ki
  11. Top bloke - trade with confidence :P
  12. Cheers for the info chaps - I'll look elsewhere :-) Thanks again!
  13. Any good? There's a review over at MM but it's not that informative. Anyone built one? Cheers
  14. Anyone considering dealing with Julien (uk) do so with total confidence. A class act.
  15. Cheers Julian, right back at you, (as I believe is the saying :-) )
