  1. thanks alot guys i have to tell you i got similar comments at the israeli models forum :P. seriously, the thought of doing that didn't even cross my mind i simply wanted a f-16i Sufa to my little f-16s 1/32 collection. thanks again
  2. after the frame was done, started making the canopy. as i said i did it by "vacuum forming". i made my canopy master from the same balza wood i used for the spine ( 25X25 mm) cutting out the canopy shape by marking two dimension on the wood : "side view" acording to the profile canopy pic you see next. and "upper view" -determined by the canopy frame. of course then i had to give it a "bubble" form. my vacum platform, connected to a vacuum cleaner. placed the canopy master on the plaform with a spacer in between so that the vacuum will force the Vivak to stick better to the mast
  3. hay thank you guys for your kind words. Tomcat RIO !! you asked me about the canopy and the way i made it. well the canopy you see in the first page is not 100% kosher .simply there is a bit of distortion in the front that i'm not so satisfied of, so i'm gonna make another one soon. but for now i'll explain with some pics at first i started working on the canopy frame . the idea of creating the frame itself is by combining the single seat version frame with the fuselage piece i had to cut out to make room for the rear cockpit:
  4. eventually i did use some putty but very minimal amount .
  5. i wouldn't mind doing that but since this is not the first model i used them i don't have much left of it ...not even enough to sell. i just might get the opportunity to get some more of it soon.
  6. hay :) another update ok ,what i decided to do next is to paint the schema of the israeli Sufa. now some people asked me "why did you paint only half plane??" well they're right and i know its not normal to do so because then when you glue the model together there might be slits that you'll have to seal and by doing that you might ruin the paint job. i only did it because for me it's more comfortable this way ( i bet it's not a crime ) by the way this paints ( + the belly gray) are the actual paints used for painting the actual f-16 here in israel. i got them when i was in service in the
  7. thanks veryone well...about the way to make the canopy- at first i wasn't sure myself how i was gonna do it but someone at the israeli model forum told me about the Vivak / PETG which is a clear sheet of plastic 0.5 / 1 mm thick. at first you have to heat it to make it more elastic and then you use a vacum platform with your canopy master on it (the silver thing i saw you made to shape the canpoy). when the vacum force sucks the Vivak down with the canopy master in between it (the vivak) actualy attached tightly to the master and gets its shape...then you need to let it cool down for a minute
  8. thanks yeah Sky's decals released not long ago a new sets of decals for israeli f-16s for all scales and squadrons A/B/C/D + Sufa. here is one sheet of the set that can be used for Sufa in 1/32.
  9. Hay ! thanks evryone for the great comments that is correct the model is based on the Tamiya f-16c of the Thunderbirds team.sorry i forgot to mention that . the wepons i decided to put onto it are : points 1,9 - AIM-120 AMRAAM points 2,8 - Refael's Python 4 points 3,7 - Delilah bomb
  10. the idea of makin the spine was by making the shape of it with a Balza wood and then to make with it a plaster pattern to make the spine with a stiff material. the plaster pattern the "stiff material" i mentioned is this sealing stuff...forgot it's name. i had to mix this two together and then to pour it inside the plaster pattern. when it was ready i took it out, did some cuting & shaping to fit it to the back of the plane. and then i added all the accessories of the spine the Sufa has + engraved all the panels lines + bolts . i painted it all with gray to see better al
  11. hello fox my name is Shimon Cohen i'm 25 yeas old from Israel. when it comes to building models my poison is the IAF aircrafts , mostly the f-16 falcon. i'm a member in the israeli official model builders forum (www.degem.net) most of my work is presented there including my last work which is still not done but on the israeli site it's already in an advanced progress and soon will be done. i'd like to present it also here and like to hear what you think about it... sure there's still not a two seat version in 1/32 out on the market so i decided to make one by myself out of a one seat ve
