I got so excited today when mail call arrived today that I had to at least share with you all. Got a Italeri 1/48 AH-1W and the trusty Monogram AH-1F in the mail. I finally have something to work on and join in on the Cobra building fun. You guys have no idea how hard its really been seeing all these snakes being built and I had squat. Now I have two but Im probably only going to be able to build one while Im still in country. Got the kits, plenty of reference material, paint, and now all I need is tools lol! Any suggestions on which one I should take on? Im thinking the AH-1F because if I g

Wow. This is great stuff! Where are all the 1/48 G model demanders at? I say a public demonstration at a model manufacturers headquarters will get them in gear. Gary- I cant recall the name of the book but I do remember reading one on the Centaurs. Great book.

Actually I had better plans for it. If I get my hands on a Fujimi J its gonna stay that way those things are rare! Ive got a few of Chris' backdate conversions for the J-G and am planning to use them to detail a Fujimi G kit.

Not quite sure about what you mean, but are you referring to the G-model Cobra's that the Army lent the Marines before they recieved the "J"? The "F" designated Cobra, or what it orginally was designated as the "S", came into service between November 1979 and June 1981.

So I was doing more research(bout all I can do until I get a model in the mail) and I came across a photo of this: It is a flate plate, twin engine, Iranian Cobra. It about blew my my mind. Does anyone have any info, possibly some more pictures of the odd-snake?
