  1. Working on a Platz 1/144 C-46 and need to replicate an antenna. It's above the cockpit and looks almost like a set of bicycle handlebars. Best case, I can find something similar that will work. Worst case I need better photos that I can use to scratch a new one. Any help IDing the antenna or finding better photos (top view?) would be tremendous.
  2. I do have a Revell KC-10 kit to hand. I'd be happy to send it to you Kursad so long as you promise to return it when you're done. Cameron
  3. Looking to finish up an Eduard 1/48 Mirage IIIc during Operation Focus. I know from written accounts that the IDF Mirage IIIs had a center pylon with a couple of 500kg bombs on them. I have not yet been able to find any photos, contemporary or afterwards, showing the center pylon and bombs that were used. Anyone have any sources that have a photo or preferably photos of said pylons and bombs? TIA. Cameron
  4. Four new kits to add to the for sale pile. I figured I’d put the list up here before I went through the brain damage of Ebay. Some of the kits include extra bonus detail parts. They will be in the description and are included in the price. The kits are complete and unbuilt, but perhaps have been opened, fondled. A few have a couple of parts off the sprues. Prices are pretty firm, but reasonable I think. Shipping will be based on ACTUAL shipping costs. I’m not making money off of shipping, but I’m not going to take a bath. I will go onto USPS.com and use the actual dimension

  6. OK. I've got a couple of Hasegawa Tomcats (An F-14A and SP44 F-14D kit). Chock a bloc with aftermarket. Intakes, exhausts, cockpits, photoetch, wheels. I've also got one Tamiya F-14A already. I know that the Tamiya kits are far easier builds...and other than dropped slats/flaps pretty much have the Hasegawa kits' beat. There's also the theoretical AMK F-14D theoretically on the way. The question is. Do I sell them off for what I can get and just build the newer Tamiya/AMK kits? Life's short and simpler, faster builds are cheaper with my limited modeling time than the extra
  7. I'd certainly be down for a set of markings for Lt. "Skeeter" Hudson's F-82G FQ-357 which scored the first aerial kill of the Korean war. Even if the Modelcraft kit is functionally unbuildable. Hopefully someday somebody will make a better one.
  8. Actually, a few years ago Shull24 made a 1/48 Sniper and pylon for the B-1B. He also made a nice AN/ALE-50 Towed Decoy for the 1/48 B-1B Both of which have been out of production for a few years and have become very hard to find. Cameron
  9. Wow. Only in government. Thanks for the help guys. Especially Rod who hit me with a truth bomb that I was skeptical of.
  10. Thanks for the pointers. I'm just not sure that I can agree. 1st of all, I find it very difficult to believe that the USCG has multiple very different colors depending upon the airframe. Secondly...a quick survey of Airliners.net shows that the color shifts between a red to orange depending upon the light and color balance...but it is clearly orangy...but doesn't look international orangy.
  11. Anyone got a good match for the red/orange on HH-65 and HH-60 Coast Guard helos? A Federal Standard number or even a RAL match? Thanks in advance. Cameron
  12. I'd be very interested (probably multiple copies) of a sheet portraying those aircraft as they appeared when they scored their victories. Cameron
  13. A Constant Guard/Linebacker II bird would be interesting. I'm looking to build Burger 54 that was flown by the father of a friend of mine from High School. General Dynamics F-111A Aardvark 67-0092 “Burger 54” Capt. Ronald D. Stafford Capt. Charles Caffarelli 430 TFS, 474TFW Operation Constant Guard Takhli, Royal Thai Air Force Base November 20, 1972 430th TFS tail code NA Red Tail Stripe at top of fin On 21 November 1972 Capt. Ronald D. Stafford (Pilot) and Capt. Charles J. Caffarelli (WSO) were flying an F-111A Aircraft #67-092, call sign Burger 54, on a
  14. Absolutely! We definitely need NSI & MCID intakes for the Hasegawa kits. Exhausts would be lovely as well.
  15. It depends on which D model you're talking about. There are fewer differences between a bubble top D-25 than a later D-30. Are you talking purely external differences? 1. All P-47s left the factory with 8x.50 Browning M2 machine guns. Some individual pilots in the field may have removed a couple to decrease weight...but that would have been rare. 2. P-47M's usually had a fillet in front of the vertical tail. It could be a smaller angular fillet or the later round big fillet. Some early Ms were delivered without a fillet and they were added at the depot level. Look at
  16. I'm trying to find a drawing showing the shape of the cutouts in the bulkheads in the main wheel wells for the landing gear struts when they retract. I'm specifically looking for the bulkheads closest to the gear strut mount in particular. Any help would be appreciated. Below is a photo showing what I'm talking about.
  17. Tamiya 1/48 A-1H Skyraider. The kit falls together. Paint it as a Sandy.
  18. Don't know what to say to you guys. I sent them some pics of mine and got a replacement a couple of weeks later. Nothing but good things to say about the customer service. I'm a bit put off by the "buyer beware". A number of people have had positive experiences, with only a couple of bad. None of us are perfect, and Wingman seems pretty committed to making sure that they fix the problem. Cameron
  19. Having attended the Congressional Medal of Honor Society meeting in Pueblo CO about ten years ago, I got the skinny on the preferred nomenclature. When you have been awarded the Medal of Honor, you are a "recipient". The citation describes the events for which they "received" the Medal of Honor. Recipients really don't like the term "won". Some don't much care for the term "earned" because most of them are quick to acknowledge that whatever they did to receive the Medal of Honor wasn't any braver or more heroic than other things that many of their comrades did in combat as well. They jus
  20. Seeing if anyone has a set they're willing to part with. Thanks and best wishes. Cameron
  21. Wetzel's and Kettle's would be a nice add to those sheets. LaPointe didn't technically serve in a Huey...the aircraft portrayed was the airframe in which he was transported to Hill 376. This would make a pretty good collection for nats...all of the MoH UH-1 hueys.
  22. I'd love to build one or more of the aircraft flown by recipients of the Medal of Honor. This link has some well done profiles of five of the Army MoH birds and the USMC MoH bird. The only two airframes missing are the UH-1D of Charles Kettles, and USAF Captain James Fleming's UH-1F of the 20th SOS. Still its a pretty representative group of Hueys during the Vietnam War...and pays tribute to the eight brave men who received our nation's highest honor while flying the UH-1. (I realize that Stephen Pless was flying a UH-1E gunship and Fleming was flying a UH-1P, both of which can't be built
  23. IIRC they had a bad batch of parts caused by some RTV molds that were poured outside the ambient temperature specs the silicone manufacturer specified. The result was the molds had some dimensional shrinkage that was reflected in the cast parts. It took them a while to run it down because usually shrinkage is the result of resin problems. They were very good about sending replacement parts to everyone affected. Cameron
  24. I'd love to see some markings for an H-21 from Edwards in the natural metal/orange scheme.
