  1. Andre, I'm debating that now. 1/72 does seem to have a broader range of subjects I'd like to deal with, though 1/48 seems more suited for extensive detailing. (At least for my level of competence; I have a friend who does phenomenal work in 1:160, down to window gaskets and such things (!)). 1/72 also would allow for less questions like "okay, it's done; now where the D am I gonna put it?" So we'll see.
  2. MoFo, thanks for that reply! I've sent HAD an email and their reply came very quickly, and they're also amenable to my placing an order and holding it till I go to Hungary this summer. I've started trying to put together a list of what's available or has been available in 48 of Soviet equipment post-1950 (I must have OCD as far as list-making goes...). Maybe I'll put it up somewhere if I get anywhere useful with it, and if anyone thinks it might be helpful. I was hoping to get back into modelling with a MiG-21F-13 or a Su-22M-3; I found mention of the Kopro Su-17M-3 kit, so there's the seco
  3. I'd comment on the exclusive-model idea. It's a good idea. I think if you do something that isn't done already at all, or is done poorly (Flogger family!), and you do it in a kit that can be built up to one of several variants, and the kit is done very well, that will be noticed, and it will sell. And it will build a reputation for Kinetic of putting a quality product out. And then, when you later release something else that is more directly taking on some competition, people will remember: "Oh, Kinetic did that brilliant MiG-23 (or whatever)!"
  4. All-time? I'd say Pan Am. The globe logo is probably still recognisable everywhere. Followed by TWA and American.
  5. I voted for the Flogger family - but as I said in the other thread, I'd urge that it be done in such a way that the trainer variants could be built as well. I think that would greatly boost the appeal of the kit, too.
  6. I think a Russian weapons/pods set in 48 would be sweet. I'd also be in on the MiG-23/27, but an idea: if at all possible, arrange it so the section from intake forwards is a separate construction. This would of course allow for the different nose styles, but also for something else: the U (2-seat trainer) variants. Have the kit such that a MiG-23UB could be built out of it as well, I'd be at the shop on day of release to buy two. Also (in 48): F-86D L-39 L-29 Il-28 Helicopters: Mi-1/2/4/8 Less seriously since I doubt there'd be too much market for it, I'd love to see kits of Galeb, Su
  7. Has there been a Tu-134 kit since the Plasticart kit from the DDR? (I still have the one I got in 1983, and built, rather poorly, but robustly like a Russian airplane should be!) Or has the Plasticart kit ever been reissued? I saw a decal set available for a Malév Tu-134 in 1/100, and got curious... probably one of my favourite airliners.
  8. I have no idea if Yumo is or isn't around anymore... I'd like to hope so, as I'd love to see the G-2 Galeb, the Jastreb, the Orao in kit form, too. Re Montenegro: as far as SOKO and UTVA aircraft go, I don't think I'd consider any former member of Yugoslavia to be a "foreign" operator. Either that or they are *all* foreign, since there isn't even a rump Yugoslavia anymore.
  9. Before or after? ;) More seriously: before I have questions, I'll have to track one down. I understand that Indonesia and Malaysia (and perhaps others, I can't remember) were also planning to order the G-4, or at least investigating the possibility of doing so; as it happened, because of the breakup of SFRJ Myanmar became the only foreign operator.
  10. Thanks for that link - that is exactly what I'd be looking for. I like some of the other sets they've got on offer, too, like the Jubilee MiG-29 and the MiG-29 with the "HuAF" NATO-style markings. I'll order some and we'll see. As for the G-4, I do remember having had a favourable impression of it.
  11. Одлично! I could look at it forever (I've liked the Be-6 and Be-12 for a long time, same with most flying boats). I could also look and say wow, I'll never reach that level, but no: I'll take it as inspiration! Thank you for sharing it!
  12. Hi! Just joined the forum, as I've gotten the itch to get back into building; I haven't worked on anything since.... 1998, a 1/72 YUMO G-4 Super Galeb, which got... misplaced during one move or another. That brings me to my first question: how hard are those kits to find now? I'd still like eventually to build the Republika Srpska G-4 I'd started on. Did YUMO ever release anything besides the G-4? The next question: I will most likely be focussing my attention on post-ww2 Hungarian and Yugoslav AF equipment; I've started looking around some to see what's available, but that's pretty early a
