  1. Monogram have various shape issues and is based on the pre production airplane presented at LeBourget see Comparative. In terms of buildability is better than a "limited release kit" but not on par with a Tamiya or Hasegawa new kit. Surface detail soft and overdone as on a limited release kit.
  2. Begemot makes a nice decal set for the Su24 in 1/48 that covers also Iranian airplanes: you can download the instruction sheet directly from their website http://begemotdecals.ru/doc/48-019%20Su-24%20pt2.pdf
  3. I titled my topic "Building Su24" so my intention is not to bash this kit (it has already be done everywere in the last month) but to build it and give my opinion on how to correct the most evident errors in shape being the exhaust area and the nose section/profile; In my opinion the cross section of the nose is not just a little bit off but it changes dramatically the front look of the airplane... and even the nose droop is quite evident on the real thing. The difference in fuselage size emerged when I was looking for the origin of the misshaped exhaust area and I can live with it even
  4. And a last update for today... the nose: the nose cone is too rounded expecially on top where the real machine is really flat while the side profile is quite acceptable even if too bulged on the bottom...but I need to cut a template from the drawings to show this the canopy bottom step is too short and at the moment this is my best idea on how to make the nose droop... cut along the red line and move the front section down, sand the bottom to match the fuselage and line up the top where a lot of work is required to square up the section (so no fear to damage details...) Andrea
  5. Hi again I have checked the drawings with the picture posted by Kasatka and it is almost a perfect match the canopy line marked by the pink arrow is more correct on plastic than on the drawings and the tail shape is perfect but slightly rotated ... Using this other picture from the left side gives similar result and again the tail shape on drawings is correct but rotated forward Is it clear that the kit fuselage is slightly undersized, but this it is not so relevant in the tail area so it seems that this error is not the main cause of the wrongly shaped exhaust area. I will check
  6. Hi everyone, after reading all words written about this kit I decided to give it a chance (finding it at a quite reasonable price...); I will post in this thread my opinion about the accuracy of the kit itself, my ideas about fixing the known errors in general shape, and the references used doing so; I will start another thread under "In-progress" subforum posting the real build. First of all a few words about the available drawings: I compared all the drawings listed by Flankerman in the previous topic here on ARC (link) and they are not really consistent and as shown by Kasatka the more si
  7. Most of Miniarm R27 are available from http://www.aftermarket.com.ua and they are not so expensive...
  8. Hallo, here you can find a comparison between the two kits: http://modelism.airforce.ru/reviews/ru/su-...vmono/index.htm
