LF - Avia S-199 decals in 1/48th

Please excuse the bother I put you to, but I'll take a pass. That would about 60 Canadian for me, and luck would have it, I just bought 5 new Leading Edge decals for the F-5 and Herc, so I got a bit tapped out. And after reviewing your sheets, I really only need the F-15 and F-16 sheets. Again, my apology for speaking too soon.

Again, many thanks for the kind offer, and I mean no disrespect, but I really did blow my hobby budget for the month on those Canadian decals. And postage is always the big killer from the States. Your kind offer would cost me $50+, but 20 of that is postage. The CF-5 decals I bought cost me $2 postage. But, Thanks again!

Gents, A bit of a longshot I know, but I bought a Matchbox 1/72nd Brewster Buffalo at a local show and only now discovered that it is missing the front of the cowling piece. Don't you hate that? If anyone has a parts kit and a spare, I'd be grateful for the help, will pay postage and offer to help in kind. Thanks! all best John

Gents, If anyone has a copy of the instructions for Italeri's old 1/48th Lysander III ... which was also boxed by Testors and Hawk several times ... I'd be very grateful if you could snap some pictures of them and send them along to me. I got one missing the papers, and while not hard, they would help. Can repay in kind and karma. Well, it only took 3 months. One of the reasons I wanted to build this classic Testors Corsair (no details, terrible fit) is because I had these neat and very old MPC decals for a RNZAF Corsair. Well, they gave me double trouble. First, after I put them on and applied Micro-Sol they started to curl up on me. I spent ages tamping them down with much Future floor wax. But they settled, quite nicely. And, after a bit of research, I have learned that the RNZAF most probably didn't have red in their roundels. Gents, Well, there is no excuse for me, I'm hopelessly mired in a rut. It all started when I had to have the pipes under my basement floor fixed. That meant cracking open the foundstion, which first meant a major clean up and reno of my model storage space (as the basement had become.) Then I had to prepare for Cangames, which is a local wargaming convention. This is my other hobby, and I ran a Napoleonic demo game. But, all is not lost. Well, for me it is. But my very good buddy Kevan has finished an excellent Corsair, and with your permission, I'd love to share it. Its the Hobbycraft 1

Got the fuselage together, but its going to take some gentle sanding to make the join look even. Looks like a bit of basement reno will be putting this back a bit. Not that there is a lot to glue! Well, at least this forced my to clean up my basement. I got some shelving units and picked up all my model kits from where they were stacked on the floor. Now one wall looks a freaking hobby store. I am both thrilled and ashamed. all best John

phantom, I have some really old Arrow Graphics decals, so I recently tested them using a Canadian flag decal. Worked just fine, really thin, fit on to the model perfectly with a swipe of MicroSol. About the only thing that concerned me was how thin they were, but handled carefully, no rips. all best John

Joe, Being a black and white photo, I have to agree with you. I'm looking for some variation on a gray scheme and pictures haven't been too much help. I did find the placement instructions to a set of decals that has an alternate scheme, so I'm using that. I don't want my Corsair to be so unusual as to be a "what if!" That is my story and I'm sticking to it! all best John

Gents, A real action pic! Notice the washing machine running under the model. This is where I make my kits (mostly on the dryer.) The Testors' 72nd F4U-1D in all its glory, a combination of some nice recessed lines, some raised lines, and rivets. Something for every taste. 37 parts, of which I plan to use only 24. I just test fitted the fuselage and found it isn't flush. Its joined by a frame, not pins, so job one will be to sand or cut off the frame lines to make sure it fits. Gents, First time caller, long time listener! I haven't posted a picture on ARC yet, but CorsairMan is a friend of mine, so there is no better time to give it a try. I'm old school, still using tube glue and brush paint. So, fitting my skills, I'm dusting off a golden oldie. Like Fellow Hobbyist above, I'll be doing a (ex-Hawk) Testors' 1/72nd F4U-1D, straight out of the box. Mind you, I will use some equally old decals, a RNZAF set I found from an MPC kit.
