More like a prop-driven C-5. Closest Western equivalent would be the C-133 (which gets my vote for the prettiest prop-driven cargo hauler).
ditto

I'm waiting for one of the highly touted reporters to say that an US Navy F-22 from the USS Ronald Reagan was involved in an incident like this
.
flown by canadians, of course; or might it be cubans this time?
-
Why not Trumpeter? Just because they'd cover it with rivets and the real thing was spot welded? What's wrong with that? :)
LOL!.......
seriously though - who's making it?
-
I guess I don't understand what escorting the flight accomplished. From what they are saying they thought there may have been a suspicious package in the cargo hold. If true, what can an F-15 do? The package isn't going to take over the aircraft and crash it into a building, and if it is a bomb and it goes off, what can a F-15 do other than watch? I just don't get it.
perhaps make faces and mock them from the cockpit? or maybe fart in their general direction a time or two.......
....other than that, not a whole lot - probably PR and give the pilots something to do....
-
Yeah....and I loved hearing the media reporting it....
"it's being escorted by 2 - F-15's......with Canadian Pilots...."
WOOOAH! When did our brothers to the north get F-15's!?! no one ever told me of this!?
for that matter, I never realized that OK Army National Guard had F-16's either..
Gotta love the news
-
Hey Paul, wanna tell us what's going on? I am just sayin................... :D :D
yes - i'm rather interested myself! and please dont say trumpeter...

Hey guys! (and specifically you washingtonians out there)
what does one do in seattle? I'm in Yakima for training (right down the street from you, Aaron), so being that this is my first time ever visiting the upper north west - i plan on doing some sightseeing. I already drove down to oregon last weekend and drove alongside the Columbia River - that was a heck of a trip! simply breathtaking!
So now I'm on to Seattle by way of highway 12 (so I can hit up Mt. Ranier and Mt. St. Helens - and pretty much just get a close up view of these massive volcanos that I flew by on my way in) - I was asking around here and all everyone ever told me was "go to seattle"; so I guess that's what I'll do. I'll only have a day - so I'm out to get the most bang for my buck. I heard something about an aquarium - I'd be interested in that; but I also took note of some sort of aviation museum from my flight leaving out of seattle - the B-47 was pretty eye-catching! can anyone shed some light?... and maybe a name or address? :D
anyhoo - advice would be appreciated - as well as some recommendations for good eating establishments - that would certainly be nice too!
TIA!
Justin

The .50 cal is a freakin' beast!! Gotta be in the top 2-3 contenders for best designed weapon ever made. The only small drawback was having to mess with the headspacing but otherwise, this thing kicks butt.
It's been chewing up bad guys (literally) since WW1. Not many other weapons can claim to have been in active service that long.
it's hard to improve on perfection :D

but nothin' rocks like the OL' MA-DEUCE!
I was about to say......you just beat me to it!
mk 19 can suck it!
ma deuce is the way to go!!!

I like the paint job in that camo.
I agree! A most beautiful 109 specimen! wonderful job, especially on the paintjob!

It's also interesting to note in that article that Revell is bringing back the ProModeller brand. anyone know if it'll be as good as past ProModeller kits?
-
Worst comes to worst... I'll have 3 or 4 beers, duct tape the cans together, add a funnel to one end, and a sausage to the back end, and superglue the wings of a Hurc on upside down. Paint it gray with automotive paint, and *poof* We've got an Aurora!Yeah, a couple of our corrosion control guys (that I think came from Herc-equipped VR squadrons) even painted "No Step" markings on the undersides of the nacelles on a couple of our P-3Bs.
B)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hillarious!
on to serious business - I would love to see a 1/48 P-3! Hopefully Kinetic will have an answer for us, as they have taken care of the empty space that came from a lack of a 1/48 Hawkeye, and now the 1/48 Tracker! Can you imagine the fun of trying to display that sucker!!!! That'd be awesome :D

WOW - I feel like such a noob!
When I first discovered this site a year and a half ago - I had - I think - 5 models or so? Now? haha..... the pile is now in excess of 100 - though nowhere near the numbers of a REAL stash like you pros have! All mine are 1/48 though (and a couple of 1/32) - so it's a rather large pile for such a small house! I'll have to add pics later, but my desk is rather overwhelmed, not to mention the closet!
as for multiples - of that there are many! Mostly German shtuff (109s, 190's, 111's, Stuka's, 88's, 410's, 154's, 188's, 219's, 335's), of course theres a bunch of Vikings, Intruders, Prowlers, 'F' super hornets, and last, but most certainly not least, SKYRAIDERS :-D!!!!
and thankfully, the wifey is pretty ok with it all :-D

I'm in the same boat as above; but it certainly sounds intertesting and look forward to seeing it! :)
-
I agree - PM is definitely the way to go in these kinds of situations.
-
If it sells, I would love to reach out to the buyer and offer him a 1/72 Fujimi F-14 for HALF the price... he'd probably scoop it up!
I'd love to sell that fella a few items myself!

'its Friday night and I want my beer! NOW!'

'Look Ma! No hands!'

Very nice
When you come out with the 1/48 sheet, I'll definitely take one! I was hoping someone would do this particular scheme! Thanks!

Some photos of gate guards here
http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.sear...inct_entry=true
Where's that one located? I don't recall seeing that one the last time I was there many moons ago. I remember the one down towards the Harrier corner of the flight line (not literally on the flight line, I mean off the road behind the hangers) but that doesn't quite look to be the same spot. Enlighten me :D
Thanks for sharing!
