The Ranger Body Armor plates were an interesting shape.

Ground Panoramic NVG were derived from the aviation goggles. Having used a fair number of NODs (-5, -7, -14, -15, -21, -31, F5050, F5032, GPNVG, ANVIS-6, NYX, TYTO, Mini-N/SEAS etc.), I’m not a fan of GPNVG, especially when driving a vehicle with doors/windows fitted. You bump the goggle into the window when trying to scan.

That looks really good. Molding things like the boom in one piece enables them to include raised rivet detail that won’t be damaged by joining & sanding halves. Very clever.

I think you’re being a little harsh on yourself - this is looking really good!

I’m just happy that there’s proof of life.

Was I hallucinating, or did KH announce a SH-60 variant in 1/35?
ETA: found it!

Here’s the actual DOT&E report.

I check it every year. Great detail on the CH-53K, VH-91 and lots of other programs.

I agree with Ikon - excellent perseverance to achieve a superior result! Well done.

"Two experts", more like one expert and one guy who used to add up numbers on spread sheets a long time ago.
Agreed. The retired Lieutenant Colonel did a great job of keeping his cool. Both parts are interesting listening, that's for sure.
"When I was designing the F-16..." "before it (the F-16) got bloated.." etc. smh
That the LTC had flown early model F-16 made his opinions on relative performance even more appropriate!

Yes, there were A-A kills made by British Harrier pilots over the Falklands...maybe it was RN pilots?
There was a RAF pilot - in a RN Harrier, seconded to a RN Squadron - who got some kills in the Falklands, but most of the kills were RN pilots, in RN aircraft, in RN Squadrons, off RN ships.

Would you could class the kill in GW1 was scored by a GR1 bombing an Iraqi airfield. An unfortunate Iraqi was taking off during the raid, was airborne as the bombs hit, and his aircraft was destroyed, this apparently counts as an air-to-air kill.
If it is real, there's the question of intent, surely. Air-to-air manslaughter, perhaps?
There's the F-15E that targeted an Iraqi Hind with some sort of GBU, hit with the LGB while it was hovering. That's a kill. An aircraft that happens to be hit by bomb fragments as it's taking off? Not so much.
There is that accidental RAF Jaguar kill - shot down by a QRA Phantom. Again, accidental.

Your saying the RAF got zero kills in Korea?
Gary
I am. The FAA got a Mig kill (Sea Fury) in Korea; the RAF's last kill was an Egyptian Spitfire in the 1940s. The RAF has never killed a jet air-to-air.

Copy that. But where? I have been searching over there and unlike ARC or Britmodeller et.al. the forums are still circa 1999. God I wish he would update his site......

He did a nice job on it, Kangaroos and all. I'd be interested in hearing how he managed the masking or if he used decals. The new paint scheme cannot roll out fast enough IMHO. That is the only part of any F-35 build I would dread...thus far.
He posted a pic on their forum showing masking (combination Tamiya & foil).

First US air to air kill in the 21st century! Its been a while!!
Navy breaks its dry streak!!
RAF - zero air-to-air kills since 1949.
RAAF - ditto since 1951.

Episode 4 version, too. If it had the five landing gear sets, I'd be on board.
