  1. I believe 70/71 was standard. In a lot of B&W photos the contrast between the colors is hard to make out though so they appear to be one color.
  2. From a modeling perspective, for a G-14/AS you can start with a G-10 and make the appropriate changes (In 1/32 Hasegawa's G-14/AS uses the same sprues as their G-10 kit). As far as the G-10, more of an assumption on my part. I didn't look into exact OOB's but given the amount of units involved I assumed that at least a few G-10's would have been present. Might not be the case though.
  3. As Leo mentioned, a pretty broad question. In very broad, general terms... Units involved: JG 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 11, 26, 27, 53, 54, 77, SG 4 Aircraft types: Late model Bf 109's; G-6, G-10, G-14, G-14/AS, K-4 Fw 190's; A-8, D-9 Markings: Typical late war Luftwaffe, most aircraft were lacking any unit heraldry (JG 4 and JG 77 being notable exceptions). Most, but not all sported RVD fuselage bands as well. As others have stated best to pick a particular aircraft or unit and research from there.
  4. Which is why I find it so amusing that people (North Americans mostly) complain about Japanese manufacturers producing kits that will sell well in Japan (Luftwaffe subjects for example). I mean really, producing kits that the Japanese market is interested in rather than pandering to a vocal Western minority, what are they thinking? If there was a serious clamor in Japan for a new tool 1/32 P-51 in Japan ten years ago we'd already have one.
  5. Yes, but it would be it wouldn't have the Gruppenkommandeur's chevrons, it was coded "White 1". This was a JG 52 machine, before his temporary transfer to JG 53 (the white-washed machine).
  6. Absolutely amazing, Brad! When I grow up I want to build models just like you! B)
  7. Beautiful build, Jerry! B)
  8. David, The port exhaust cover curved over to help prevent exhaust from being sucked into the supercharger intake.
  9. Their "Late Production G-6" can be built as a G-14. In some cases you wouldn't be able to tell a late G-6 from a G-14 without the Werknummer.
  10. I'm OK here in Yokosuka. No damage that I'm aware of here, but we're feeling the impact. Power was out for about 12 hours, the trains are just starting run again so a lot of people were stranded at the train stations overnight (my girlfriend included). The expressways were also shut down so getting north of the base by car was out of the question as well, couple of my friends at work ended up crashing at my place. I had no idea how bad things were until the power came back on and I turned on CNN-J. My prayers go out to everyone here who was impacted by this event.
  11. Are the TVMC thongs still available, or are those just for you and Mike?
  12. Clean build, looks great! :D
  13. Great looking build, Darwin! :D
  14. I could go on with all the usual superalitives I give your builds, but you know the drill by now. Outstanding as usual! :D
  15. Beautiful build of an unusual subject!
  16. Beautiful build, lots of nice detail work and the overall finish is outstanding!
  17. Excellent work, I really like what you did with the paint chipping/scruffing.
  18. Shawn, I also have the 109T conversion set. Although I haven't actually used either set, the quality looks excellent.
