  1. Sweet job. its looking good so far!
  2. Thanks Mike, the third pic is the type i was looking for. I can see the various panels i wasn't sure about. thanks Rube
  3. I am looking for any information or pictures for the F-14D exhaust? I am building Tamiya's Tomcat and I used Wolfpack's conversion for the nozzles. The question is, according to their instructions I need to re-scribe new panel lines but I don't see them on any reference pics that i can find. Would greatly appreciate any detailed pics or information regarding the panel lines for this area. This is the area i am looking for info on, just above the Horizontal stabilizer http://www.cybermodeler.net/aircraft/f-14/...01_167_tail.jpg Thanks Rube.
  4. Thanks for the info. I picked up a scribing template from spruebrothers myself. Looks like you did a pretty good job scribing yourself, and yes that is a monster! lots of lines to do. The Tamiya F-14 is going to be quite the project also. I put alot of money up getting all of the aftermarket details and resin so i want to make it look as good as possible. Thanks again. Rube
  5. Thanks guys for all the input. now its time to get to work and put it to the test Rube
  6. Thanks for the advice. Thats what I was thinking of doing by scribing the panel lines along the raised ones. I did buy a scribing template along with a scribing tool to try and make things just a bit easier. Lets see if i can produce the results i am hoping for. Rube
  7. Whats the easiest way to remove and rescribe the panel lines on Tamiya's F-14 upper surfaces. Should I completly sand off the raised panel lines and then rescibe the original locations or just rescribe them alongside of the raised lines and then sand it. Or is there an easier way?? Any suggestions that could help me with removing the raised lines and succesfully scribing the lines to look correct, I would appreciate it. Rube
  8. Anyone know if Aires is going to release a D version of their 1/32 cockpits? I am building a tomcat from VF-2 in OIF and wanted to know if it in the cards for a future release or are they going to wait for trumpeter to release their Tomcat. I have the Avionix "D" cockpit and it doesn't look like the quality of the Aires resin sets. Any info on this matter would greatly be appreciated. Thanks Rube
  9. Chuck, Thanks for the info.. That is a little pricey, but fpr what you pay for the kit itself and then all the after market stuff, there is no reason why not go all the way and make it look just right! I will definately be contacting Tamiya in the near future.. Thanks again Rube
  10. Hey everyone, does anyone out there have any idea when Trumpeter will be releasing the 1/32 Tomcat. I am currently building Tamiya's and converting it to an F-14B of VF-103. I saw Trumpeter is releasing their version and I found a review saying it was going to be another A version with a possiblity of a B and D version to follow. Any word if its true and just wondering on it's possile release date. Thanks for any input! Rube

  13. thanks guys i appreciate it.. i am going to be looking into both of them
  14. I am wondering if anyone knows where I can purchase a replacement canopy for my 1/32 Tamiya Tomcat.. some how i have seemed to misplace the front windscreen and feel like I have a wasted all my time on this big cat without a complete canopy! Also I have seen Aires has an F-14B version of their cockpit anyone know if they will be releasing a D version??? Thanks in advance if anyone can help me out. Rube
