  1. Peter, I've sent you another e-mail at home, too. Please respond to the issue specific to your deal with JC. Thanks, Barry
  2. Peter and I were working out details of a similar deal: If I accepted, plan was for me to pay 26 Euros for him to ship three of his fantastic kitbashed models to me (so I could paint and even keep them)---quite a generous offer considering the work he puts out. For what it's worth, I have sent Peter an e-mail to home with both this thread's link and the one from BritModeller in hopes he speaks to each issue and, more importantly, promptly resolves this outstanding one with JC. 3. I am beyond impressed. A little later, after I've picked up my jaw from the floor and cleaned off all the drool from my computer's keyboard, I will enter a new adjective in my e-dictionary for when I've run out of superlatives: kaburayastic!
  4. Wow, Peter, I am equally impressed. I know YOU might think it's no big deal and just a matter of trying out these techniques but my hat's really off to you! Might have to give push-molding a try. Was your cockpit interior mainly scratchbuilt too (right down to folding armrests for the crew seats)??? As a Scratch-Basher and a big civil twin fan, I watch this build of yours with great anticipation. Keep it coming!
  5. From another guy who is gullible enough to shape flat, laminated styrene sheets into airfoil cross-sections, you have my admiration! Love your abilities with the push-molding----hope you can share some tutorial photos for us. I use a 1970's Mattel Vac-U-Form for small stuff like canopies (available on ebay but most take some restoration work) but your technique may be more simple and less costly. Anyhow, important thing is that she's looking very fine, indeed!
  6. Bored? Are you sick? Mesmerized is more like it! This is most impressive. You are reaching a threshold point: after this, you really don't need to *buy* model kits anymore!! But we won't tell your wife.
  7. This was the Italeri 1:48 Super Hornet and my first-ever Black Box aftermarket cockpit set (what, me worried?). A little nerve-wracking, to be honest (as the more experienced among you might have a laugh at that). Decals are the fantastic Leading Edge variety. Otherwise, this was pretty much the easy kind of Whiffery: just a change in final paintscheme. Funny thing was how the alternative history was written before the May 2006 date and who knew back then that Canada would end up with Conservatives running our Federal Government? Hope you enjoy.
  8. Eddie M, the Model Whisperer asked me to post some pics of my speculative Canadian Super Hornet. First off is the "alternative back-history" CF-18F Super Hornet In May of 2006, Canada's Federal Government announced yet another program to justify the retention of the few aging Hornets carried on strength at that time by the CAF in lieu of upgrading to any other, newer product. While the Liberals spun an upbeat name, calling their recycling concept The "C-FLEX" Program (for "Canadian Fighter Life EXtension"), the project was quickly dubbed by disgruntled CAF personnel as simply the "Cr
  9. You have my full respect (and a good deal of "awe" too!). I've never seen anyone pack an open cross-section with scrap sprue like that----very inventive. Since you've already done so well so far, I'm guessing there will be a second, equally exciting subject someday. May I suggest you have a look at the various sandable/carveable dense polyurethane foam "tooling boards" for this sort of thing in the future? http://www.freemansupply.com/RenShapeModelingan.htm
  10. Ack! I've fallen and can't get up----ack! :D
  11. Really your first model? Fantastic! Wish MY first cockpit had looked one-tenth as good! Please keep the pics coming.
  12. Here is a good link with some pics. Somewhere, I have saved the link to Gabriel Koerner's site. He was the CGI artist who actually rendered the Viper Mk II for the 2003 miniseries....his are the best pics I've ever seen by far and they are nicely and believably weathered. Found the link: http://www.zoicstudios.com/ Apparently, he's also appeared (as an actor) in front of the cameras in a number of SF shows, too! Talented bugger!
  13. 1:48 Chinook (any variant; I'm not picky, just desperate!) Anyone ever built (or seen) the 1:48 vac form from Roberts Models (or his colleague's)? And a 1:48 Lynx would be most welcomed, too. B)
