  1. It seems to fit right in but the "TFM" memorial wasn't done until 1984, two years after the wall was completed. Heck, between the Skyraider and Bird Dog I'm planning on doing, I may not even get around to this one. Would be nice to have in the hip pocket though. Need to finish and give to my wife's uncle who was a stern gunner on PBR's during the war.
  2. So last night I remembered that stashed away in my Cave of Doom is the old Monogram "Three Fighting Men" Vietnam Memorial Statue kit. I know this kind of out of the theater of battle and it was quite some time after the war ended but would this in some way fit in with the GB theme?
  3. Disregard my last. I just figured out banners.
  4. Man, I would have hated to be the pilot on a 14 hour mission. Thanks for sharing Jari. I never knew some U-2's had this capability.
  5. Any idea when the mods are going to give this a dedicated spot in the GB file?
  6. Harolds stuff is first rate if you've not seen it before. :thumbsup:/>

    Skyraider Pics

This looks like what comes in the Monogram kit. To be honest, I didn't know there were different generations of prop. Do you have pics showing the others?
  8. Looks like it's orange. Thanks everyone for the help.
  9. I don't normally get into these discussions but I do read them. A couple observations. First, I think we need to pull things back a little or this topic is going to get shut down real fast Second, I know there is another site that does in box kit reviews and I always head over there when I'm trying to see what's in a kit before I buy it. But, it's not always the most up to date and it is always by one reviewer so you get that modelers point of view. I like being able to go in and ask about a kit if I have a question about the original review or about something that isn't pointed out

    Skyraider Pics

Those are great pics Jari. Thanks for sharing.
  11. I'm still not sure of the later nose cone used on last prototype. Here is a link to Airliners.net and is their copyright. Just sending link to show what I'm talking about vs duck bill nose used on late F-5E/F and first F-20. Linky: http://www.airliners.net/photo/Northrop/Northrop-F-20A-Tigershark/0305402/L/
  12. Fantastic build Jorge! These decals came with the kit or are they aftermarket? Don
  13. Most every kit or aftermarket decals show a red lightning bolt. I have the Cutting Edge decals in 1/48 and they depict the lightning bolt in orange. I can't find documentation either way. Do I go red or orange? I know, everyone has the Bee but I like the markings and want one for my own collection. :rolleyes:/>/>
  14. At last, with the help of you fine gentlemen, I was able to figure out that these came from the 1/48 Academy Minicraft UH-60A Black Hawk kit. They are fairly generic and have no detail for the bottom, they may still be of some use. I might be able to use them as a start and cut the bottoms out and extend them at the same time. I would not have been able to track this down without your guys' (Finn and thatguy96) help. Thanks a million! Don :salute:/>/> So I just measured with a Murphys Rule and they came out to just right at 6 feet long, a little over 1 foot tall and right at 1 fo
  15. Hey Otto, You hear back from Obscureco yet? Also, if you need a set of cowl flaps, let me know. I can send a set your way. Don
  16. Not sure if this has been discussed but does this also include operations that took place over Laos? As in the Secret War? Was thinking about a Raven FAC O-1 Bird Dog if I can finish my AF Skyraider. Don
  17. Just received Harolds new AMS Resin Aero 1C 150 gallon tanks! They are works of art. If you're building a Tamiya USAF A-1 H or J as a USAF RESCAP Sandy, you need one of these tanks to hang under the right wing. They are the bees knees. Thanks so much Harold for designing and casting them up. Don
  18. Maybe it's cause it's laying up against the other parts and I can't see it very well. Here is a link to the first and third prototypes. You can see the diff in the radome and canopy. I guess it was just the last one was different. http://www.aereo.jor...igershark-c.jpg
  19. Hey Sharkmouth. Thanks for posting these! I've been looking for pics of the sprues. In your pics, I see the two radomes but they both look the same and what was used on the number one prototype. Also seeing the canopy and it looks like the kind used on last two prototypes (number 2 and 3). Just not seeing much of a reason to buy one as my Monogram kits look just as good. And I really wanted an F-20 that looked like the last one built. Don
  20. This is what it looks like but I've never been able to find the dimensions. I'll measure it when I get home tonight so I can know for sure if it's 1/48. I was just comparing the size of the pod hanging from the stub pylon of an A-1 Skyraider in a photo and the one I have using the Tamiya kit pylon. The dispenser was considerably shorter than the one in the photo. Don BTW - Thanks for the link to the diagram.
  21. It is a repop of the old Matchbox kit. Caracals has some really great decals for the Fat Face Skyraider and Cobra Company does a gorgeous resin pit for an AF bird. Don
  22. Way off the wall question here but I have a pair of CBU-30 CS Tear Gas pods that I found in my helo parts box. I thought they were 1/48 scale but now they look too small. I'm trying to figure out what kit I bought that had these but can't for the life of me remember. God I hate getting old. Don
