  1. Hobbycraft did a Beaver and Otter in 1/48. They aren't the greatest kits in the world but they build up nicely and with a little work, really look good. The Otter is getting pretty hard to come by these days though. But yes, a new tool of each would be awesome. Airfix seems like the perfect fit for doing the Chippie. Don
  2. Heya Larry. Swiss specific marking are a start. I have stencils but they are for RAF birds. May be able to borrow some of the Swiss stencil/data markings from one of my Mirages or F-5E's. Don
  3. Like title says, looking for an Aeroclub DHC-1 Chipmunk in 1/48 scale. Can be vacuformed or injected. Would prefer injected but right now beggars can't be choosers. Don
  4. Hi All, A bit of a weird request. I'm looking to see if anyone has the Strombecker/Aurora TT-1 Pinto in 1/42-48'ish scale? And would be willing to sell or trade? Don
  5. Anything worth while in the Salt Lake City area? Heading out for a business trip and thought I'd see if there are any good hobby shops.
  6. Wow. That is a very nice build! I'll be watching this one. Postage seems a tad steep. Don
  7. Like title says, I'm looking for a set of decals for a Swiss Hawk Mk 66 in 1/48. If anyone has a set they aren't using or know of an aftermarket that sells these, please advise. Thanks.
  8. If I could have my way, I'd do one Brit and one Canadian. Love them both. The red/white RAF is really eye catching and the RCAF with the bubble canopy is too cool. Hey Airfix! You listening? 1/48 scale please.
  9. So other than the old Aeroclub vac and limited run injection kits, does anyone know of a manufacturer that did the DHC-1 Chipmunk in 1/48? This just seems like it is something that would be right up Airfix's alley. Don
  10. Does anyone know what the dimensions of M-47A4 White Phosphorus bomb is or was? Or does someone provide one in 1/48 scale? Needed for a A-1H SAR bird. Don
  11. Hey John. I have the Minicraft USCG Herk and don't plan on using the decals. Shoot me your snail mail addy and I'll send them out. Don
  12. Mark, AeroMaster did a special sheet on the AVG and it included markings for a number of A/C from all three squadrons. It was SP48-07. There is an outfit in France selling this sheet on ebay.uk. Link is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AEROMASTER-SP4807-THE-FIRST-AMERICANACES-/300979999912. Cutting Edge also did several sheets covering the AVG (48-117 and 48-182). Eaglecals did each squadron on separate sheets. #30 for 1st, #31 for 2nd and #32 for 3rd. Is there a particular plane your looking for or just anything from the 2nd Squadron? I may have some spares that I can send your way. Don
  13. So cockpit on the Phantom is assembled and painted and fuselage halves glued together with wings glued together and onto the fuselage. No filling or sanding has been done and no other assembly has been done either. I have pics of progress but don't know how to load them. If this is still too far along, no worries, I still have the Spad. Don
  14. I know it's still early but do we have any rules of the road yet? How far along can a kit be in order to be eligible for this build? I was looking at doing a Tamiya 1/48 A-1H as Richard Drury's "Sopwith Camel" or "Midnight Cowboy" and if time permits, finish up a 1/48 Hasegawa F-4C Wild Weasel I had started several years back. Don
  15. Horrido. Rivet Amber never went through the Pacer Fin upgrade. A day or two before they headed back to Eielson, while returning from a mission, the aircraft was subjected to severe turbulence. When they landed back on Shemya, extensive skin damage to the tail section to include the vertical stabilizer was discovered. The decision was made to send the plane to Eielson for further inspection and repair. The rest is history. As to the fiberglass radar covering on the fuselage, they did an inspection when it made it's last visit to Greenville and there were no problems whatsoever with the ba
  16. Very nice build Adam. The Bearcat is one of my favorites and you did it up nicely. :thumbsup:/>
  17. Amber Hall is actually the headquarters building. Or at least was when I was stationed there in '84-86. They did have billeting facilities on the end for the SAC guys that were deployed as part of the Alaska Tanker Task Force. Don
  18. On this day, 46 years ago, 19 crew members of the US Air Force RC-135E Rivet Amber lost their lives over the Bering Sea. They were members of the United States Armed Forces defending this great nation. They were husbands, fathers, and sons. Most of all they were our hero's! They are also dearly missed. 19. So I know this is way out there on probability scale but I'm in need of the dash for a 1/25 Pontiac GTO. Glue bombs and beat up promos accepted. R/M did the 68/69 GTO in 1/24 but the kit comes with a 69 interior. Trying to build a model of the 1:1 '68 Goat I had back in the early 80's. Don
  20. Andrew, No joy on the Viking Hi Vis data sheet. Checked the stash and nothing. I may have sold it along with a kit a couple years ago. Good luck with your search. Don
  21. Andrew, Pretty sure I have this sheet but need to double check the decal stash to confirm. Don
