I think David is onto something here.  I agree that I could easily create operational markings for a 1/48 Snark from my spares box. The red/white test markings right out of the box are sufficient, but specialized "Northrop SM-62 SNARK" etc..  would be really cool.

Kursad, by deviating from your normal practice of complete subjects on a sheet, create a sheet of partial but special and unique markings for a large group of missiles to fit the various kits in the different scales. I doubt many of us have a complete collection of every missile kit by every manufacturer in every scale, but enough of us are willing to purchase a sheet with the special markings for one, two, three or more missiles in our respective stashes. It might even spur further kit sales.

    Kind regards,  Dutch

I hope to create a 1/48 diorama of a Snark on trailer launcher one of the hard stands with assembly shed in the background at Presque Isle, ME.  I am probably going to need a half sheet of sturdy plywood as a base, LOL!  I have several 1/48 vehicles of appropriate vintage which will need USAF stencil markings, but I am working on that.

Northrop SM-62 "Snark" (strategic-air-command.com) for photos.

I had the same thoughts Dutchmaster as you with the Snark on it's trailer being pulled to it's launch pad by an M35 support truck.   Only problem is finding a period correct M35 in 1/48 for the conversion.   As you stated, period correct US Air Force markings for the vehicles is non-existant.

Thank you, guys! I hope I'll get good weather this weekend to take some more pictures outside. It's also my - I think - 8th C-130, and I already have another one waiting to be done as a MC-130E.

Interesting story from a C-130 pilot about the last Hanoi pick up at end of war.   It's a tad long but very worth the read.

Since I did already the RC-135U and at the moment the NC-135W, which have basically the same antenna configuration, I will build the Rivet Joint in the configuration with the old dish antennas, but with CFM56 engines, as it was seen around 2007.

Excellent Jost.   I'm building all the same planes only in braille scale (1/144).   I'm using your builds as inspirations for mine.   All amazing.

The  December batch of releases are:

    • CD48035 - 1/48 ANG F-4C/D Phantom Part 1 (reprint)
    • CD48036 - 1/48 ANG F-4C/D Phantom Part 2 (reprint)

Definitely looking forward to these two.   Missed out the first time around.

  6. Fantastic job Jay.   I don't know how I missed this.   It certainly looks the part for such and old tooling.

And I totally agree that we need a new F11F in 1/48!   Supposedly, there is some outfit over in the UK that is working on a new Tiger right now.   DBMK Model Kits in the UK is supposed to be working on a new tool F11F.   Facebook link here for those that subscibe to this media.   (20+) Facebook
